CKCB October kit reveal with me as the Guest Designer for the month

This is exciting news! Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog asked me to be their Guest Designer for October 2018. Wow! I'm so blessed!

My October kit has been titled as "All About Autumn" filled with unexpected twists like unusual color combos (add aqua, turquoise, and seafoam blues to yellows, oranges, and greens) and accents of metallic gold.

**if you came from a master forger's blog or the CKC blog, THANKS! the blog hop list is at the bottom for you to use to get to the next MF after seeing my massive kit:

Above: the full super ambitious kit with the embellishments clustered in the front center section

Some of the papers are no longer in their packaging or aren't stamped on the back but I do know there's a section from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby), Hot Off the Press (Paper Wishes), Colorbok, and solids are either Georgia-Pacific for white or Astrobrights for pastels, neon, and bolds (Neenah Papers).

Below: just the papers, some 12" squares, some 8.5" x 11", some 6" squares, some scraps, some ATC or slightly larger, and some 4" x 5" tablet sizes; colors range in turquoise and teal blues to seafoam/minty greens, browns, golds, pinks, greens, yellows, and some peach tones with a few raspberry and gray; patterns range from floral, wavy lines, chevrons, dots, etc.

Below: the "bits and bobs" include: plastic bits in red, pale pink, blue, black, gray, and smoky white; gold gems; some leftover leaf stickers, gold alphas, gold tulle, twine, burlap, yellow cording, green masking tape, orange masking tape, gold glitter tape, and 7 micro-thin decorative tapes in assortment of colors and patterns; burlap leaves; silk leaf assortment; gold napkins; Give Thanks text napkins; a few leftover pieces not used in September; and at least 3 stencils I'd liked to use in October: paisley tear drop, oak leaf, and a leafy branch.

I've got cording in grass green and orange and 2-tone browns that I didn't pull that might get used. I've also got ribbons in different colors and fibers, too. And I will probably need more solid color cardstock than what is seen at the top of the photos.

    1. Thanks, Maxine! I think tomorrow I'm going to sort the papers by either colors or patterns and take more pics. There are so many that they get lost. And I need to start creating layouts or tags and/or cards with this gigantic kit. See part two tomorrow.

  8. Doreen, The original kit had me stumped at first but I started looking at some of the patterns as quilts. Then I saw lots of yellows, greens, and oranges plus all those wood elements and gold accents. Those things made me realize, yes, we can do autumn creations with our copy-cat kits!

  9. This is a great interpretation on the original kit and shows how differently we see the inspiration! Great job and although I think your kit is even bigger than my big kits, it looks like you are ready to jump in and get crafty! Good luck with making a huge dent in your stash. Thanks for being our GD this month :-)

    1. Thanks, Lisa! Yes, overjoyed I am to be GD and to use up lots of old papers and stickers. My mini kit altered file folder project used up 7-10 full sheets and left scraps/partials of another 3 or 4 maybe. So I'm thrilled so far with how much got completed this week!

  10. Happy to have you with us this month! What a nice, full kit and I like how you included pinks, purples and brighter blues - they aren't typical for fall but I think they'll fit in well with autumn scrapping.

    1. Susan: thanks for stopping by!! I was trying to avoid purple but with the Wild Hare curated kit having soft pinks plus the deeper magenta pink in the peonies paper, I though having a few papers with purple would be okay. The deeper blues/teals don't get as dark as pine green but I like having a color value range in my arsenal! :)
