This Thanksgiving my mom, husband and I have my siblings with their families coming home for the holiday. Part of the weekend will be celebrating our mother's recent 80th birthday with a special open house. Back in August she had a nasty fall and initially the doctors thought she had a broken hip. It gave us a good scare. After 4 1/2 days in the hospital and 2 weeks + 2 days in a nursing home for her recovery along with an additional 4 weeks of follow-up home visit therapist sessions, we are ready to show our friends and family how much we cherish our momma with an open house reception.

I'm not sure who within the fam will get this adorable card but couldn't help myself in taking a summer vacation digital image and making it into a holiday travels card.

Thanks Dr. Digi's!!!! [Summer Holiday]

And for those of you reading this outside of the USA heartland, my area of Illinois had snow this morning (10/30/19) and there is more expected overnight!!!!! YUCK!!!!

So stay safe and warm, folks!!

  4. Oh, my, it's way too early for snow, Becca! I think there are still crops in the fields over in Iowa! I love that you turned the summer vacation into a Home for the Holidays design! It looks from the steering wheel like the gentleman is coming all the way from England, and judging by the suitcases, he might be staying through Christmas, lol! Happy Milestone Birthday to your mother! So glad she recovered!! Hugs, Darnell
