PPCC blog 392 with a bakery theme birthday card

Enjoy. Fun. Bakin' a cake. Checking it twice. Goin' to find out whose birthday it is. Baker Girl is coming to you!

PPCC blog's design team (DT) are provided sponsored images each week to be the focus of our paper-crafted creations to inspire followers of the blog. This week for #392 we have just 1 prize sponsor, Time for Tea Designs, that is offering a prize to a selected crafter and 3 of their digital images to showcase from their inventory. The badges are shown here and the PPCC blog link for #392 is here:  https://pennyschallenges.blogspot.com/2018/08/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-392-and-dt.html

Since Always Happy Birthday challenge blog has a theme of anything goes with an option of water-theme, I'm going to link this birthday card for the August monthly post:
https://alwayshappybirthday.blogspot.com/2018/08/august-challenge-birthday-anything-goes.html

I just love how this card came together quickly and how cute it is! The patterned papers are very old stock as well as the gel-like stickers. The blue cardstock is newer inventory (Colorbok). The inside stamps from Stampin' Up are old but new to me when I bought them about 2 months ago at a resale shop. But all these items came together and by applying the same colors to the digital image, it all fabulously coordinates!

This is my last DT card for PPCC blog. I'm quitting the team for a break and to put some flexibility in my schedule. Besides this blog I had been a DT member of another one which I have also quit. I had deadlines each week to meet on Tuesday nights and Friday nights. I love crafting and blogging plus checking to see what other crafters and companies are doing, so I won't disappear altogether, just will be a bit sporadic for awhile.

Until we meet again, Becca S

First Saturday of the month means a color theme challenge at HIMCR post 364

What's summertime without some cute birds splishing and a splashing in a birdbath?

Hiding in My Craft Room has set up first Saturdays of each month to have a color theme challenge and for #364 August 4, Laurie (blog owner) would like our paper-crafted creations to use 3 colors. I'm going to stretch this a bit to have butterscotch and kraft brown to be 1 color plus grays and greens. HIMCR's badge and post link to get all the details about participating as a crafter, seeing the other DT crew's inspirational creations, get link to the prize sponsor/DT provider of images, and much more can be found here:

The prize sponsor for #364 plus DT crew's images provider:

Design notes:
a. patterned papers are a combination of old (birdhouse print paper) and new (yellow, white, and gray diagonal striped paper)
b. inside sentiment stamp is Stampin' Up
c. cover's sentiment letter stamps were purposefully twisted to keep with the splish-splash messy theme!
d. digital image from Sweet n Sassy Stamps has been color-filled with a combination of markers and colored pencils with the sentiment stamping and doodling borders added by me
e. next week's HIMCR theme for 2nd Saturday will be scraps and this card would work for that if it wasn't for a DT crew card and having a different sponsored image to work with; inside=scrap gray cardstock and the birdhouse print paper; cover= birdhouse cut-outs and butterscotch marbled cardstock behind the image are scraps
f. I kept to the color scheme pretty well except blue for water & droplets and the cover's stamped letters. I can't have green water in the birdbath?!!!?! yucky! Had to have it as blue. :)

So many wonderful options in this digital image set! I couldn't do just one card! Bees, hives, and hexagon/honeycomb designs are very popular in home décor and jewelry currently, so buy the set and get busy being trendy!

Love how these 2 cards turned out! They are certainly buzz-worthy! :)
