For the birds theme home decor art

My husband's birthday is about 3 weeks away and this home décor art was made with him in mind. Need to buy a frame before I present this to him. And he will be shocked that this is early! #406 Birds challenge for MTTC blog=

My Time To Craft blog design team project:

Check out all the details for how to participate and see what the other members of the DT crew have made. A delightful variety of projects for this theme!

Some details on how this project was made:
a. the owl image is a coloring page "tattoo" from Bendon Publishing of Ashland, Ohio; "Adult Coloring--Tattoos--Relax and Rewind" with tear and share pages
b. I laid this image on my printer's scanner surface and then put kraft cardstock into the paper tray and copied the image onto the kraft CS.
c. Using colored pencils (some combo of hues were used to vary my choices) for the majority of color-fill on the owl. The beak had been colored yellow-orange with gold metallic pen over that to contrast with the feathery fluff on each side of his beak.
d. A few chipboard stickers were scattered for accenting and the "with love" stamped in the corner.
e. With the coloring page outlined, I decided to outline all the stickers and stamped sentiment.
f. Striped paper background is from The Paper Studio by Hobby Lobby
g. The stickers and striped patterned paper were put into my compiled kit for CKC blog's September 2019 challenge.

This is their 2nd post of the month. So scroll to find the previous 1st post and then the subsequent posts on how to use your copy cat kit throughout the month. Still a bit over a week to participate and use up some of your stockpile. When I selected my papers and a few embellishments last weekend, my focus from the inspiration kit was for the color hues.

c. Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog for September 2019= https://counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/09/september-2019-counterfeit-kit.html

The kit to counterfeit for September 2019 is a curated one from Secret Not Secret Kit Club. This is 1 of the provided pics to the blog:

And the following are a mix of old items and previous copy cat kits' leftovers that I have compiled (along with the papers used in the scrapbook layout) for September 2019 "School Days-Teacher Days" kit=

My focus from the inspiration kit was the muted color palette. I did include a vintage camera patterned cardstock on my layout as a nod to the viewfinder reels.

One of view of the scrapbook layout:

The top teacher photo was taken either for the 2006-2007 or 2007-2008 school year. The bottom teacher photo is a mystery! I think it was for sometime between 1998-2005 because before that I kept my hair longer and permed! Also larger glass frames, too. The little price tags were colored with markers to match some of the papers and I used some planner stickers to embellish. The MAW digital image was colored to match me--sweet!

Please take time to visit the TCCC blog and the rest of the design team's links.

CCMWF challenge from Cindy L ready on August 31

CCMWF is a closed group on Facebook. CCMWF = Christian Card Makers Women's Fellowship

Cindy L is one of the members and she mailed a Bible verse coloring image to everyone. We were instructed to color it however we wanted, make a card with it, and then mail it on to someone who needs the encouragement.

Here is my finished card for Psalm 103:1=

The short row of 5 gold-ish gems were for color repeat for the yellows used in the image and the gold metallic paint pen used for 'soul'. I like how many of the colors in the image are reflected in the butterfly print paper, too.

The blue background of the coloring image is foam so it helps elevate the Bible verse.

Black inking around the perimeter of the coloring image was done as a way to offset the image more.

Overall the card is lovely.

I've shared this card with the CCMWF group already. With this post, I will share to the following FB groups:

a. my personal FB page

b. PPPDTC = Paper, Paper, Paper & Design Team Calls

c. Scripturally Inspired Creativity

d. Bible Journaling and Faith Art
