MTTC theme to use ribbon and or bow challenge starts 9 July 2021

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart has been emotionally on a roller coaster this week. Three cousins lost their paternal grandmother a couple of days ago. Elma was 101 years and 8 months old!!! Another sorrow this week has been a sweet soul sister from church losing her mother-in-law. My husband worked with her husband for about 6 years so this has been another emotional ache. Then on the joyful side my little neighbor girl who my mom babysat for awhile along with her brother and then who I babysat during my summers when 16 and 17 became a grandmother of a beautiful baby girl!!! It's been great to see her as a mother and now she's just exuding bubbliness for being a grandmother for the 1st time. Today's showcased card will go to my church friends:

some design notes:
1. floral bouquet focus is recycled and repurposed tissue paper type gift wrapping that I recently received wrapped around my birthday gift from my brother's family
2. the two cordings for the bow are also recycled and repurposed
3. the sticker used for the front panel sentiment is maybe 20 years old; it's one of many verses and stained glass border designs included on the sheet that it came in. I've matted it onto a piece of ivory cardstock left over from the other 2 sections that are leftover scraps, too....

Layout was based on the sketch challenge at Make the Cards Challenge blog. (MTCC) I will link it to their blog=

My interpretation was to break up the shown peach colored section into 4 sections because I wanted to bring out the pink and ivory tones of the floral bouquet tissue gift wrap section used for the focal. The circle focal shaped was moved to a more central location and the sentiment is not a wide slender rectangle but a boxy rectangle. Embellishments of the MTTC required bow, sequins, and some teeny tiny stickers scattered about complete the card.

  1. Oh what a week, Becca, sadness balanced by joy as the wheel of life turns. A beautiful card - a relatively quiet background to showcase the gorgeous floral element to perfection.
