Inspired By Modern Quilt with owl birthday card

2nd card for Inspired By blog challenge's modern quilt prompt this past week. Deadline is in a few hours so I'm hurrying to use more bits from my Feb. 2019 CKC kit:

Using a thin bright yellow decorative tape, I've imitated stitching lines--

The owl felt sticker helps echo the hues of the print next to it! Hand-written message has a fun pun! :)

I decided to make a mini kit out of a few scraps plus some full sheets that hadn't cut into yet from my February 2019 CKC blog kit to make at least 2 birthday cards for March. Since the deadline for quilt challenge at Inspired By #61 (Laurel Seabrook Designs) ends later tonight, I'm going to make this a quick posting in order to get this 2nd card linked up too!

Modern Quilt birthday card #2 design notes:
a. base, background, and the 6 pattern paper triangle/quilt section papers are from 100 Pattern Papers Challenge starter kit I compiled for 2019 and along with some others were part of my February 2019 Counterfeit Kit Challenge copy-cat set that was further whittled down into a mini kit to make quilt-inspired birthday cards for March

b. owl felt sticker and yellow tape are oldies but add-ons to my Feb. 2019 CKC blog kit

Quilted birthday card for Inspired By Modern Quilt prompt

hmm? modern quilt portrayed through paper-crafting? How do I interpret this theme? or use the image prompt?

I decided to make a mini kit out of a few scraps plus some full sheets that hadn't cut into yet from my February 2019 CKC blog kit to make at least 2 birthday cards for March. Since the deadline for quilt challenge at Inspired By #61 (Laurel Seabrook Designs) ends later tonight, I'm going to make this a quick posting in order to get the one made about an hour ago shown. The 2nd card is started with base and background, so fingers crossed I can get it linked up too!

Modern Quilt birthday card #1=

From CKC Feb 2019 kit: the creamy yellow base cardstock, the yellow-green mottled cardstock, and the 6 pattern papers used for the triangles, white glitter alphas, plus the lt. blue butterfly and white butterfly stick-ons that were colored to match the blue and bright pink flowers in the border sticker
*And a shout-out to 100 Pattern Papers Challenge, a closed group on Facebook; due to their encouragement to use old stockpiles of inventory, the butterflies, alphas, CS, and papers were part of my 2019 starter kit that I made in January!

Add-ons from Current Catalog: the 2 different border stickers

Above pic: 1 sheet of cream cardstock made 2 card bases (4.25" x 5.5") and then 4.5" squares were cut from 6 patterned papers; each square then created 2-2.25" squares and 6 or 1 of each were cut in half in order to make the quilted focus=

Faux stitching details were added around the 2 center triangles and then the perimeter for another quilt element. Even though 5 of the papers have tones in soft to mid level blues and greens, I think the pop of color in the 1 paper and the embellishments keeps it fresh and contemporary.

**I almost forget to post Inspired By no 61 photo prompt:

CKCB Feb 2019 BB Kit by March 4 and 5 continue with 4 mixed format pocket pages

One of the monthly posts for Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog is "Killing It" series. I try to avoid using the k word in my speech however despite being creatively busy in February, I did not come anywhere close to slaying my Feb 2019 kit!

This photo shows stacks of papers and cardstocks that are a mix of 12x12s and 8.5x11s along with some partial sheets and sections. Also the scraps bag changed with some old used and some new put into it. There are still lots of sheets buried under the scraps bag! All of this old inventory has been part of my starter kit for 2019 in the 100 Pattern Papers Challenge group in Facebook with this particular folder being my February 2019 CKC blog copy cat compiled kit:

Holly Hocks forgery pocket card LO=

Owl forgery pocket card LO also featuring sunflowers and horses=

Wood veneers were also part of 100 PPC's March 2019 Tic Tac Toe challenge. On this layout to help highlight the sunflowers, I used a flower laser cut colored liked a sunflower and a laser cut leaf colored green...too cute!!!

Plant forgery pocket card LO=

Moth forgery pocket card LO=

100 PPC group on Facebook has a Tic Tac Toe challenge for March 2019. The moth LO is the only one I believe that completes a row (and also a corner); washi/decorative tape, green were on top row and 2nd row had journal (pocket) card, die-cut (the floral tag/label) and arrows (sticky note used for location caption)=

Update photo of remaining Feb. 2019 Bodacious Botanicals (BB) kit after finishing these layouts. There are still lots of sheets buried under these that I need to create more cards and layouts!

whittled...chipped away...baby steps
Since this is a photo heavy blog post, I'm going to keep the commentary short. Two groups that I want to mention are 100 Pattern Papers Challenge in Facebook which all the papers and scraps are part of the starter kit compiled in January and CKC blog and their community FB group:
