why: This posting shares my newest non-design team project for this personal blog series I started. I need to be purposeful about using these odd leftovers shapes and lots of 1/2" wide or 1" wide side cut strips are waiting. It's been fun to use different layout ideas to get lots shared within 1 card.

what: Take time to chill with God slimline card

how-to notes:

1. half/semi-circles punched from leftover cardstock scraps: lime green and turquoise are Recollections; grass green and purple are Pen + Gear; light blue is Neenah

2. white cardstock is recycled packaging; fun size candy bar tray with sides trimmed off; edges distressed with scissors

3. base mid-blue cardstock cut to almost the length and depth of a business envelope/slimline  = Astrobrights/Neenah

4. very old Scripture verse stickers = stash (I don't remember if they were from Current Catalog or Standard Press or Zondervan, etc.)

5. sloths and leaves dimensional stickers = Crafter's Square

My MTTC #552 masculine theme thinking of you DT card on 24 January 2025

why: This post focuses on my newest themed DT project for My Time To Craft challenge blog. MTTC's #552 theme is masculine (make it male). Another design team member suggested this topic. It should be very popular. I decided to go colorful, geometric prints, flat and no 'frills'. 

when: MTTC's #552 starts on Friday January 24, 2025 and lasts for 13 days.

what: #552 theme is masculine = Hey! Hello! thinking of you card

notes: this will be sent to a cousin who is battling Parkinson's and needs some cheering up; he grew up about 20-25 miles where I live now; his parents are still there however he's been living the past 30 or so years about 3-4 states away. 

1. base = Wild Blueberry cardstock = CutCardStock

2. next layer up = Sandcastle cardstock = Martha Stewart through CutCardStock

3. next focal layer = Pop Tone Grape Jelly cardstock = CutCardStock

4. big letter die-cuts = (old) Jillibean Soup

~~ fun fact for the past 2-3 weeks = lots of frequent snowstorms and/or flurries; the most was 6"; this week there was a 2-3" and then a 1.5"-2" in the past 24 hours. 

~~ the not so good fact was a few days of below zero*F temps; we got down to -25* F wind chill for 2 days in a row and then several with down to -10*F...ugh...3 pairs of socks! 

Ally's Angels #66 DT card for 10 January 2023

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart's still jumpy and flummoxed over how quickly 2022 seemed to go by and the prospects of 2023! Ally's Angels Challenge Blog's #66 Anything Goes starts January 10th. I decided to do a Happy New Year card. 

I've found in the past 10 years or so, that sometimes I receive late Christmas cards from acquaintances or extended family members that I hadn't sent to and instead of creating a 'late' Christmas card, I'll make and send them something about winter wishes or for HNY. 

If you've followed my card-making in 2022, I did a free-form acrylic painting with 3 colors on white cardstock with some added gold glitter tempera paint that's been featured in several cards. Well, I've got another section of it (about 4.25" x 5.25") that I laid a varied star stencil over and added the same blue acrylic paint with a foam brush. Then I outlined each star with a small tip black marking pen. One foam blue and white snowflake for embellishment and gold lettering complete the card.
