My Heart's Quest Fantasy #54 DT projects for 6 August 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello! I'm Becca S who has been doing crafting blogging since 2010! During the past few years I've grown my ownership of specialty niche crafting challenge blogs. In the past 2 months I've changed the timelength of many of the blogs in order to provide more time for my husband, our dog and I to do some 1 day or overnight trips. On May 30 we spent the day at Lake Shelbyville and Clinton Lake (IL). June 9 I met two childhood/classmate girlfriends for a long lunch in Bloomington, IL. June 13 was spent at Lake Taylorville and Lake Lou Yaeger (IL). July 6 was spent again at Lake Shelbyville. July 13 was spent in Ottawa, IL. July 17 was a short trip over to Dwight, IL to see the Big Boy steam engine that is traveling across the country.

My MMMJP #38 final geometric design entry for notebook

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello, I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old artsy-craftsy former teacher and former caregiver who has been slowly transitioning into a different chapter(s) in life. In July, it will be a year since we stopped being weekday afternoon caregivers for a young girl that is considered our honorary granddaughter. We started babysitting when she was just about 48 hours old!! The new parents don't have any relatives in town so they bestowed honorary grandparent status to us! <3 But caregiving also overlapped with my mom's last couple of years. As her needs increased, sometimes my husband and I had to split locations yet sometimes we'd go together and take our little girl with us--along with our dog! sigh....At the end of August, it will be 2 years since mom's been gone.

where: This last entry in My Mondrian Mondays Journal Page notebook is not-related to any design team challenge blog commitment. Some cropped photo images of several Piet Mondrian's paintings from 1913-1919 can be seen at the end of this posting.

when: Monday, May 11, 2026 for #38.

why: 14-15 months ago I started a journal notebook dedicated to geometric designs influenced mostly by the color block/grid line composition paintings of the late Dutch artist Piet Mondrian.

what: #38, the final entry, using my favorite colors of pinks and purples + neutrals

how: outer shape created by tracing a paper doily

1. journaling notebook has 80 sheets of peach grid/graph paper; w/ elastic band closure; I used every other page most of the way through, but I didn't get 40 entries, only 38 due to inks bleeding through.

2. four interior spaces within the design left blank/white like Mondrian

3. black perimeter and interior dividing lines like Mondrian

4. irregular color blocks/spaces like a few of Mondrian's paintings that I've seen

5. new this time = flowery, scalloped paper doily overall design shape + using neutral striped blocks instead of a solid neutral (like the 1 black colored pencil rectangle)

6. outer black line + 3 black striped blocks = Zebra clickart black non-smudge retractable pen

7. three light brown/caramel striped blocks = Zebra clickart brown non-smudge retractable pen

8. thin black lines drawn = Paper Mate's Ink Joy gel pen in black

9. two pink, one red-orange rust, two purple + one black colored pencils = stash box = half of them are Marvy Uchida, the other half are Crazy Art

LINK-UPs:

1A. Kleuren met Potloden; new on May 10th; anything goes using colored pencils; My design composition's spaces are mostly colored pencils-filled.

ConBC #16 picked 2 bingo columns DT projects on 1 Nov 2025

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: The purpose of this posting is to share my next owner/DT inspiration projects for Christmas or not Bingo Challenges. #16 bingo board has wonderful variety from column to column. It was hard to select just 1 (since the rest of the team is always so ultra fabulous)!!! And the other DT members and Guest DTs focused on using I, N and O so I didn't want to leave out columns B or G and created one for each of those.

when: ConBC #16 starts November 1 and ends on December 15, 2025 (then we take a 2 week break between challenges and will return on January 1, 2026)

what: Project #1 = Column B (appreciation, yellow & gold, free, weave)

how-to & vendor notes for #1 using Column B=

1. Thanksgiving/Appreciation = "so very thankful" vellum from Farmstead Harvest by American Crafts

2. yellow & gold = two little yellow enamel hearts by Fancy Pants Designs; harvest gold tones in the flowers and dotted print paper by Simple Stories from an old card kit; also metallic gold decorative tapes (unsure on the vendor; it's been in my stash for several years)

3. free = the different products like enamels, vellum, die-cut ephemera, etc.

4. weave = strips of the gold metallic decorative tape were applied in a partial weave overlapping/some over and some under sections; (again, I'm unsure of the vendor since it's been removed from packaging and been in my washi tape collection in stash for years)

5. did not use textured paste! = I would like to try this. Haven't yet but would sometime.

a. brown marker pen for outlining around yellow cardstock = Zebra Clickart

b. yellow cardstock panel = Pen + Gear

c. kraft cardstock base panel = Colorbok

where #1 will be linked =

what: Project #2 = column G (New Year, metallics, free, sentiment focus)

how-to & vendor notes for #2 =

21. New Year = 2026 is included in the sentiment; also the sentiment choice is motivational which lends to creating goals/resolutions

22. metallics = embossed puffy pieces are stickers from 2 different sets = Crafter's Square

My PRS #7 design team projects for August 2025

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: this posting showcases my newest design team member contribution project to Paper-Rocks-Scissors owned by online artisan blogger friend Deanne. She started PRS in February 2025 and the main theme is anything goes using paper and/or scissors. I've used 4 papers and 1 cardstock/base plus scissors were used to cut the palm tree paper, flamingo paper and flourishes paper. A circle punch was used for the gold foil paper. Scissors were also used for the dual-sided tape adhesive strips but that's all on the bottom sides and isn't showing (thank goodness!)

when: challenge month #7 starts August 2, 2025 and stays open all month.

what: PROJECT #1 = thinking of you card

how-to & vendor notes for #1: NOTE = base cardstock is neon deep orange but printer scanner faded it to a butternut squash tone.
