if I didn't own FQHSKCB or FQGGCB, I could share this card at both of them. FQHSKCB is anything goes food or kitchen. FQGGCB is having a food alphabet game theme focused on letters M-N-O. If I used general word like mints instead of peppermints, I could link up for FQGGCB, too. But as the owner of these 2 blogs, I can't do that. YOU can...please.

4 March 2022 MTTCC #29 with Angels Christmas Theme Card for DT

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I've got a small size Christmas card done 2 ways to showcase for this posting for March 4th MTTCC DT commitment. It's 4.25" wide and 5.5" high...that's it! And it's packed with angels--as the focal/sticker and in the main paper feature. Come join us at My Time To Craft Christmas challenge blog and show us your Angel themed Christmas card creations!

There is a 3rd Angel card shown almost at the end of the posting and it is shown on MTTCC as another DT inspiration project. Make sure to use the link and visit MTTCC to see what the other DT crew members crafted for this theme challenge!

***********************

Design notes:

1. Black cardstock bases made from 1 sheet folded in half and then divided for top fold/bottom open 4.25" wide and 5.5" high each (Pen + Gear)

2. Echo Park's Away in the Manger collection for the angel print cardstock (about 4" wide x 4.25" high) and the 2 angel 'elements' stickers

3. green cardstock sections are 4" wide and 1" deep (either Neenah or Pen + Gear)

4. bronze glitter and gold glitter foam stickers are from an ornament filler package (bought at Dollar Tree in December 2020)

5. green metallic foil 'dazzles' sentiments of 'Merry Christmas' (Paper Wishes website)

6. gold metallic gel highlighter 'pen/marker' (Creative Devotion; 1 color of a 3 color set) was used to contrast the angels in the cardstock paper versus the focal stickers; I knew with the very light sage green background and the ivory tones of the angels in both the cardstock and the stickers, that something was needed for contrast

7. black rollerball ink pen used to outline papers and angel stickers (for the angel stickers--this is another way to contrast from the angel print cardstock)

My Time To Craft Christmas challenge blog NEW starting 15 January 2021

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I've been on the design team for My Time to Craft for a couple of years now and I truly appreciate the owner, Shell's, laid-back easy to be part of the DT approach. She announced to us about 2 months ago that she was wanting to start a Christmas-based one. This is the very first challenge 'contest' for this new challenge blog!!!!

For the first 8 months of 2020, I participated in a weekly Christmas-focused card-making challenge blog. I really enjoyed that. So since Shell is beginning MTTCC has a spin-off of her MTTC and on alternating Fridays, I thought I'd try being part of the design team. Join us and get a jumpstart on your Christmas cards in order to reduce holiday stress at the end of the year!

1st theme for MTTCC--My Time to Craft Christmas is reindeer. Start date is 1/15/2021. Deadline date is 1/28/2021.

Design notes:

1. Santa on Rudolph is rub-on transfer from Carta Bella's "A Very Merry Christmas" set

2. heart stencil sheet is by Jot; purchased at Dollar Tree; bubble gum pink acrylic paint was applied with a sponge dauber brush and then red colored pencil was shaded over in order to get that watermelon red tone seen in the washi tapes

3. 2 washi tapes are part of a 3 pack set from Jolee

4. largest letters for "ho!" are from Simple Stories; the tiny tile letters are from Webster Pages

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

MTTCC link for #1 Reindeers challenge posting=

link= https://mytimetocraftchristmas.blogspot.com/2021/01/here-we-go.html

**********************************************

My 1st personal creative challenge for 2021 is to copy-cat a sketch layout from a card in 2010 or 2011 to inspire me, so I have picked this teacher card from May 18, 2010 to revamp for this Christmas card shown up above. The similarities are: Santa strip is in about same location as the tree ATC card; there are 2 deer on right side like the 2 owls; the 2 washi tapes are crossed like the 2 ribbons. =

My 2nd personal creative challenge for 2021 is to include either heart shape(s) and/or the word(s) heart or love into my projects. After such a stressful year, I figured all my family and friends who receive my cards need to have some positivity. On this card, I have the heart stencils used again like I did on another recent DT project this month and the words 'love' and 'dear' show affection.

MTTC Blog Challenge no 444 Clean and Simple Christmas Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! It's been a crazy work week so I'm going to keep the posting streamlined...to keep my heart less stressed here at the weekend! The theme is Clean and Simple Christmas! On the MTTC blog, Shell, the owner has asked that 3/4 of the card should be white and plain. I'll admit I'm a bit of a rebel on this because to me 'white space' as a journalistic term meant empty space, so it doesn't matter if the cardstock/paper is a color or a patterned as long as the majority of your card doesn't have stamping/digi image or embellishments.

A Christmas Card of Snowy White on White

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart is so happy to be able to create a card just because I want to paper-craft!!! I decided to check out some Christmas-focused challenge blogs and see what some of their current themes are. Hopefully I can mesh a few together!=

*sketch

*snow

*white on white; a neutral is allowed

other features will be slimline dimensions and some mixed media application of white paint pen, charcoal gray marker, and silver glitter paint pen along with embellishments of wood die-cut shapes, rick-rack, white foam snowflakes in 2 sizes, and clear iridescent gems

Snowy White on White Christmas card=

Didn't this turn out terrific?!?!!! The white cardstock base edges were inked in charcoal gray and so was the embossed oval. Dimensions are 3.75" deep and 9" wide. Merry Christmas was hand-written in pencil and then the white paint pen and the silver glitter paint pen were applied over the script. The wood die-cuts have charcoal gray marker with the silver glitter paint over it and then the white paint added to the cuffs and a few side partial spots as well as circles around the tiny dots on the mittens. Those tiny dots have a small tap of silver glitter.

Note: card has been placed on printer/scanner, so the depth of the wood die-cuts and the clear gems have caused the scanner light to create shadows through the middle parts of the card

The rick-rack reminds me of little hills and valleys made in the snow by wind and/or settling. It also gives the line delineation on the sketch instead of using another paper. The white embossed cardstock oval was part of a piece that I got in a box of odds and ends sent by a junk journal online acquaintance. Bless this gal's heart for clearing off her desk that day about 2 years ago and sending me all kinds of paper goodies!!!

July 2020 Week 3 Theme of Santa Challenge no 27 for 52 CCT

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart and soul have enjoyed a bit of cooler summer temps these past few days--low 80s! Before this blog is revealed we are suppose to be back into scorching temps and heat indexes!!! Ugh! So internally cool down by thinking about Christmas and specifically about Santa.

That's our theme for Challenge #27-20 at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge blog! I've made 2 cards yet only sharing 1 at 52 CCT. The 2nd card is made with several of the same supplies and a layout variation but it is a humorous version that I intend to give to my husband for Christmas--he's MY Santa! :)

Card #1: Hi! Santa

Card #2: I [heart/love] Santa

Supplies:
a. The tri-dotted patterned paper and the strip of black and white checked patterned paper = The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby
b. Red ribbon and white card bases (w/ matching envelopes) = Crafter's Choice
c. the rest of the embellishments, red ink pad, red glitter paint pen = in my stash for awhile
d. and if you haven't figured it out yet, the Santa image is an upcycled gift tag that is overlapped a bit on top of it's back piece that I reversed to use the dark pine green rather than the white...a set of 6 or 8 designs were what came in the tag packaging...I thought they had some good graphic designs. This one was perfect for our Santa theme!
