My MTTCC #117 DT easel style card theme for Christmas for 18 July 2025

why: this posting shows my latest manager/DT contribution to My Time To Craft Christmas #117. The theme for #117 is to make easel style Christmas cards. This is another installment in our DT's requiring a style or technique series. DT member Miss Mudge suggested the style of easel. There are many variations however since I don't do many fancy fold/dimensional cards I went with a basic and easy easel style that uses about 3/4 of 1 full 8.5" x 11" cardstock sheet. Half of the length was used for the folded portion and then an A2 size panel (4.25" x 5.5") came from the other 1/4 of the sheet. I chose ivory for the easel folded part and panel base.

1. Santa postcard's image was even vintage when it was printed! The original lithograph was from the early 1900s; then in 1990 is was reprinted and others in a set of Christmas postcards published by Dover Publications =

Thanks to L & S at JB for literally saving me to have something Christmas vintage to do this MTTCC theme #116!!! Sometime in 2024, or maybe as far back as 2023, I was blessed to receive a prize package filled with vintage Christmas pages, caroling sheets, and ephemera!

why: This posting features my newest design team commitment project for MTTC or My Time To Craft, a papercrafting (accepts digital & hybrid projects) challenge blog! We've been doing a theme series of shape-based card structures. I believe this is our last one and then we'll switch to a supply-requested theme series. Heart-shape is my suggested choice for this series. We've had tree, circle, square, rectangle, dog-ear tag, oval and heart!!! WOW!

why: This post shares my new fictional creatures featured at the #6 challenge period for Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenges Blog using the old/former The Fairy And The Unicorn (TFATU) challenge blog address. AACB #67 DT inspiration for 10 February 2023

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! This posting is for my co-own challenge blog with the super talented Leslie Turner. -- Ally's Angels. AACB has Anything Goes as its theme/non-theme! Once Upon A Time DT project for December 2022

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart flip flops with some indecision, nerves, and excitement about creating for Once Upon A Time challenge blog. The owner, Deanne, picks a children's book to feature for each month. This blog is fairly new starting in August this year. A couple of times I've tried to replicate the cover as closely to the original and sometimes like this month, I'm just incorporating a few 'nods' to the book cover artwork.

December 2022 book is "The Legend of the Poinsettia" by Tomie dePaola (retold by and illustrated by)

Here's my interpretation--Presenting Gifts Christmas card=

From the book cover, to me it looked like the young girl is providing or presenting candlelight for her family and/or neighbors. I thought these cute woodland animal stickers with gift packages (The Paper Studio) could replace the candles (or what is being presented/provided).  Due to the size of the felt poinsettia, I've only included the one and then a cluster of paper scraps (green and white is The Paper Studio and wood & green tree cardstock scraps are Fancy Pants Designs) and a die-cut snowflake for color and winter seasonal accents. 

The blue and green chosen for the buffalo plaid cardstocks (The Paper Studio) are nods to the hills and leaves on the right side of the book cover.

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart always gets excited to make Christmas cards. The sweater 'paper' is from a notepad that I bought several years ago. I'll be able to make 1 card for about 47 more years!!! This is my first use this year and will probably be my only usage! :)
