ATC. Advent. December 9.
This is a bonus post not related to having to submit a design team inspiration. This was the perfect opportunity to start using a few scraps of green and brown that I've already collected in the past 10 days or so with busy crafting.
The green and pink cardstock base layers are actually scraps or should I say bought scraps bundled by Colorbok. It was an easy way for me to get lots of different colors and pre-cut sizes to start building my "stock" since the house fire in August. (We lost about 40-43% of our small house; affecting the back enclosed porch, laundry room, access to partial basement, kitchen, and the 1 1/2 bathrooms.)
The very top tree layer is a very light mottled mint green that fades away with my cell phone camera feature.
Remember to look at the HIMCR post about the Super Scraps Saturday #330:

I've been enjoying pushing myself creatively and imaginatively with limited personal resources. Why not join me in the pursuit of making hand-made cards and other home décor paper crafted creations?

So sorry to read about your fire - hopefully you are now getting back to normal! Love your version of the tree!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Well, truthfully, our lives are much more complicated with a trifecta of drama and trauma. The Sunday before the fire through the day AFTER the fire, I was in the hospital due to a massive blood clot hitting my heart and lodging in it blocking the pulmonary artery branches (saddle pulmonary embolism with heart attack and right-sided heart failure)! I was super close to death by all medical opinions. But God had a plan and the right tests like an echocardiogram showed the doctors how to start treating me! I was discharged the day after the fire to my mom's house about 7 miles from us. Stayed with her for 1 month & husband sets up a man cave in garage to keep a watch on everything. Insurance helped get us into a rental house around Sept. 1 and by then crews started cleaning out and demolishing worst parts. On Oct. 27, my husband has a heart attack. His 2nd. Thankfully it was mild and he was there for 2 days. We've both started cardiac rehab/wellness conditioning in the past 2-3 weeks. Every once in awhile I state something in my blog that references the fire but usually not the health aspects. Crafting is a huge part of my therapy because it makes me happy to be creating little works of paper art.
