I did 2 card versions of the digital image I selected from the challenge sponsor, Fred She Said Designs. The image is called "Old Tractor":
Top photo is version 1. I really like how I added the corn stalk leaves border above and below the digital image (and of course how I colored it) but I'm not as happy with all the paper triangles surrounding it. This was already a large 5.5" x 8" card but this layout might have been suited better for a 12" x 12" scrapbook layout instead. That's my opinion. [pine tree and barn were also added by me...I thought the tractor looked too lonely]
Bottom photo is version 2. I like this version more than the first because there aren't as many triangles or patterns fighting for attention. The round border (also added by me) simplifies and keeps focus on the "Old Tractor". I put a tag on the back about "you are OUT standing in your field; Happy Valentine's Day."

Go to the blog and this particular post to get all the details and how to participate as a crafter in todays challenge #336. You have about 6 days left to create, make a blog post, and then link it to this challenge for a chance to win the sponsored prize from FSSD. Third Saturday is a surprise challenge that Laurie (blog owner) decides what the surprise will be. This month is to "color" an image.
Here's a photo showing some of my supplies to getting started for version 1 with the image already colored and embellished with the border, pine tree, and barn by me:

above photo: back side for version 2
Still crafting in the U.S. heartland, Becca
P.S. visit the HIMCR and check out the rest of the design team inspiration creations
There is one of crafter using "Old Tractor" and then the rest of the crew used 2 other images.
