Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges Blog #365

theme= anything goes

2 sponsors: Delicious Doodles and Star Stampz; I was part of the design team asked to work with some selected images from Star Stampz. As soon as I saw "Rain", I knew I wanted to create something with it.

inside panel view using a clip art image, strip of gray patterned cardstock, and a scrapbooking sticker

initially I wanted to use the sticker "Never Give Up" but after working on building the card cover I thought 'silver lining' would be better

markers in a range of blues and greens to use on rain hat, coat, boots, umbrella, puddle, frog, and cattails

skin lightly colored with a brown colored pencil; hair is a combination of orange and 2 yellows

Isn't she still gorgeous in all her despair?!!!?!

Visit PPCCB to get all the details of challenge #365, prizes offered by the 2 sponsors, and see what other images were used by the design team crew.

Some design details for this card cover:
a. there are 7 designer patterned papers (The Paper Studio) used, 2 solid colored cardstock, and a bright blue paper (Grafix) for background on the white cardstock base (Georgia-Pacific)
b. each row has a strip 1" deep x 3" wide which are zig-zagged and off-set by smaller repeat pieces
c. image is mounted on a light mint green cardstock and fussy-cut to about 1/8" around the perimeter of the image
d. the image has small foam stickies behind it that help it stand out away from the surface and allow for the mesh gems strip to accent

LOVE how this came together. LOOK for those silver linings of blessings hidden within the despair of rainy days or series of traumatic events.
