BUJO is the short code name for Bullet Journal and TN is the code for Traveler's Notebook
My new Hope Word of the Year (WOY) entry on my ringed index cards is based on the 2 February 2019 challenges at TN Time with Lisa and Lori.
Lisa has a sketch and Lori has a prompt.
Lori's prompt is to feature someone or something you love and with at least 1 heart. I love God's Word. I also love butterflies. To me they are a perfect symbol for HOPE which is my Word of the Year.
Lisa's link: http://createdbylisa.blogspot.com/2019/02/february-tn-time-with-lisa-lori.html
Also I want to include mentions for:
a. 100 Pattern Papers Challenge group on Facebook = the papers are from the starter kit and/or scraps bag that I compiled from old inventory back in early January
b. Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog and community group on Facebook = these specific papers were selected to copy cat the February inspiration collection that had a botanical naturalist look and placed in my Feb 2019 kit I titled "Bodacious Botanicals"
c. Travelers Notebook Scrapbookers group on Facebook = their focus is NOT on covers or inserts but on the actual sketches/layouts used in TNs or Bullet Journals
Design notes relating my interpretation to the sketch by Lisa:
a. Left side: the blue butterfly and heart sticker along with the separated placement of the verse reference mimic the placement in the top corner
b. I typed the verse, printed it out, cut into strips, then mounted on cardstock scrap (My Mind's Eye collection) and is placed in same location as shown on the sketch
c. At the bottom only 1 square is used; a butterfly instead of a heart, and the date # stickers for a title
d. Due to these index cards being even smaller than typical TN, I have to eliminate or reduce a few things in order to get the strongest elements featured.
e. Right side: the yellow-green mottled cardstock symbolizes the clipboard
f. The cute chipboard sticker of the boy searching with his flashlight replaces the clip of the clipboard
g. the 2 triangles of patterned paper replace the top corners/sections of the 2 shapes/papers indicated behind the clipboard shown on Lisa's sketch
h. the large heart sticker subs for the photo and the smaller one subs for the girl/stick figure
i. the graffiti butterfly subs for the sub-title...thought this was a clever way to emphasize the Word of the Year--HOPE
May you find hope in these troubled and turbulent times our society is facing. God has shown in His Word that He's offered redemption through His Son. If you believe in His Son, God gives future hope of eternal life and extends comfort through the Holy Spirit. If you are looking for something to take away fear for the future, uncertainty, lack of purpose for your earthly life, and/or doubts, turn to the Lord.
Thanks again to these groups for continuing to keep me inspired creatively from the world wide web: 100 PPC group, CKC blog and group, TNS group, and TNT w/ L & L blogs. And biggest thanks to my Heavenly Father for giving me an extension on life 20 months ago!

This is amazing Becca!! I love the color palette on this spread!! Thanks for joining us again at TN Time with Lisa and Lori!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa! That means a lot to me!
DeleteOh I like this, very sweet. I may have to check out that TN group for Bible Journaling. I seem to be off on a slow start on doing it in my actual Bible.
ReplyDeleteSusanne: There are several Facebook groups for Bible journaling that I can recommend. Using TNs or BUJOs is another variation that is spinning off from planners or Bibles, too.
DeleteLovely, such sweet colors
ReplyDeleteAren't the colors very pleasing for these index card journal entry?!!!
