Bloom Where You Are Planted expression is the creative driving force for this 1st friendship card
It will be given to my BFF when we meet in about 3 days! YEA! We live about 3+ hours of driving apart. The distance has been farther over the years since childhood. Being in the same state for the last 15 years has been better for both of us. So I'm really looking forward to seeing her!
Isn't this just the cutest spring floral mixed media special card that you've seen? Pearl gems, washi tapes, a rose wood veneer shape, and stamping with soft to mid-tone muted hues.
Look at the depth of layers and textures! My Mind's Eye is the producer for the green and peach washi tapes, corner tabs, and pocket card (was part of a full cut-a-part sheet). Black and white grid washi tape is by Dear Lizzy/American Crafts; and bff letter stickers are also American Craft product. Stamp set is from Paper Sweeties website and the metallic ink stamp pad set from Hampton Art. The base card color is "Marshmallow" by Colorbok.
Link-up participation elements for submissions to the following:
CKCB: March 6th was mini kit challenge; March 12th was Challenge #1 for frames
Would you consider the tape/sticker corner pieces to be a frame for the pocket card?
SOS #391: small teal blue letters "bff " were added to the bottom right of the pocket card; inside which I didn't photograph is simply stamped "With love" in gold metallic ink
SK SAT #43: use the sketch design shown; for the sentiment, you can consider the "Bloom Where You Are Planted" or "bff"
Tip the sketch design to its left and then cut off the bottom or right side white space and you should see my interpretation for the shaded areas shown on #43 Sketchy Saturday.
The base paper was stamped with gold metallic ink (leaves and stems), silver metallic ink (quote: Bloom Where You Are Planted), and white metallic ink (large circular rose-like flowers).
If you pay close attention to subtle differences, this above pic shows the white circular flower shapes and you can see some silver but may not be able to read the words. I didn't want exactness. I wanted abstract.
A lovely card for my lovely best friend forever!
