My MTTC #563 DT heart shaped card project for 27 June 2025

why: This posting features my newest design team commitment project for MTTC or My Time To Craft, a papercrafting (accepts digital & hybrid projects) challenge blog! We've been doing a theme series of shape-based card structures. I believe this is our last one and then we'll switch to a supply-requested theme series. Heart-shape is my suggested choice for this series. We've had tree, circle, square, rectangle, dog-ear tag, oval and heart!!! WOW!

when: MTTC #563 starts on June 27, 2025 and stays open for 13 days. 

what: Project = Autumn Splendor Leaf-embellished heart card

how-to notes = overly embellished! 

1. pink neon cardstock cut in heart shape = Astrobrights by Neenah

2. pale pink cardstock, 2 different tones (the smallest heart got hidden under the glitter leaf) cut in smaller heart shapes to layer = ? Neenah or Pen + Gear

* in my stash, I have several different sizes of heart shape stencils that I used to trace and fussy cut each heart. 

3. enamel dots = Fancy Pants Designs (?); out of original packaging

4. rusty orange glitter leaf = Crafter's Square

5. wood butterflies and leaves (plain) = different packages from Crafter's Square

6. variety of markers = stash

7. pink gingham ribbon = also Crafter's Square

8. dark brown retractable marker pen = Zebra Clickart

9. Walnut mini stamp pad = Lawn Fawn

E. Make My Monday; started June 16th; theme of 1 or more butterflies; MY layered heart shaped display card has 2 wooden butterflies = one in magenta pink and the other in orange; on top of the large glitter leaf between the gingham ribbon bows

why: This post showcases some new stash supplies received recently and also a chance mid-month to do something that is not for one of my own challenge blog commitments.

what: Victorian Anniversary card

1. CutCardStock colors used and location: (new to me and 2nd time to use)

    A. Wild Blueberry 5" x 7"; folded in half for the base

    B. Ice Gold paper; cut to 5" x 7" and then trimmed/decorative edging with scissors for the folded overlay

    C. Pop Tone Grape Jelly; stencil-traced and fussy cut 2 hearts

    D. White Conversation Flat Card; trimmed about 1/8" on short sides and 1/4" on long sides = inside 

    E. Sandcastle; cut to 2" high x 4" wide = inside

    F. Sea Foam Green; cut to 1.5" high x 3.75" after decorative edging = inside

2. Everly Lane ephemera by Fancy Pants Designs 2024 = pink doily acrylic (new to me & second project to use) 

3. Heidi Swapp embellishments 2013 (new to me & first time to use) = mix print acrylic open hearts (2 sizes)

4. Perfect Plum by SU = ink stamp pad for the purple heart shapes

and HQCB is starting something new today as well with having a Valentine's Day Cards challenge that is offered as a page option and has its own Inlinkz tool address for entry submissions. 

For V-Day theme #1, the project(s) can use either heart shape or word or the word love AND a doily. The Valentine's Day card needs to have both. You can have more than 1 heart shape. And you can use both the word heart and the word love. 

Heart and love can also be their other language equivalents. You can also use a form or variation like heartfelt, heartful, hearts, loves, loved, loving. 

On the HQCB site, go to the right sidebar and about halfway down will be a category titled "page options". Click on the one stating HQCB Valentine's Day Cards Challenge.
