CKC blog Feb 2019 BB kit papers and a forgery pocket card makes bff birthday card

Best friend's birthday matters...just like every moment moth-ters...word coined by yours truly!

https://counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/02/february-2019-forgery-on-fourth.html

The collection from Kaisercraft that was selected by a Master Forger member at CKC blog:

Forgery pockets cards with bottom left cut to use for this birthday card's focal:

Crayons of several different colors and tones were used to age the white cardstock into looking like an entry from a 1880s-era naturalist guide book. The aging was also enhanced by a faint pink design on the photo frame from American Crafts' Maggie Holmes products:

Base cardstock, 3 vertical strips (2 papers and 1 cardstock), the damask paper section under the forgery pocket card are all from my February 2019 kit that I compiled and titled "Bodacious Botanicals":

Combined all together these elements made a very beautiful birthday card for my best friend!

CKCB Feb 2019 kit scraps make pickle pun bday card using a LSD sketchy saturday layout

Birthday guy--Is he a big deal? Maybe he's a big dill?!!!??

Design notes=

a. pickle theme elements: pickle jar pun sticker, all the various green tones, and the zig-zag border sticker reminded me abstractly of dill's feathery appearance

b. scraps from CKC Feb 2019 kit that I compiled: yellow-green mottled cardstock scraps, olive green plaid scrap, the variegated paisley patterned cardstock, and the focal/center patterned cardstock section

Challenges link-ups=

a. CKC blog February 2019 kit (Bodacious Botanicals) scraps used

b. Sketchy Saturday challenge from Laurel Seabrook Designs (LSD)

Below: close-up pic (BTW/by the way...BW is code for Best Wishes!!!)

Below: set of 3 masculine recipient birthday cards made in 1 crafting session and from 1 sketch design

(Do you see the sketch design from LSD reflected in all 3 cards? AND for this card I rotated the design orientation from vertical to horizontal!!)

I really love how all three cards are filled with mix and match assorted patterns!!! Reminds me of gentlemen who can't dress themselves by mismatching their socks or having their tie clash with their shirt's pattern!!! Little touches of everyday humor makes a crafting session enjoyable. Hope you enjoyed seeing my efforts this week!

Three masculine cards made in the same session using the same layout sketch design and scrap papers/cardstocks:

I really love how these cards turned out and that even though I'm using scraps or sections of papers from my kit, I'm slowly making progress and getting old inventory reduced. Little bits...like chips off the old block...

Multiple Challenges LO 2 features feathers and birds

Birds of a feather flock together...no birds were harmed in creating this scrapbook layout! :) February Challenge 2 at CKC is feathers

after editing=little gem dots were added along the edges and to the hot air balloon pocket card/image focal

3 of  my nieces were able to be at their grandma's and visit one of the family farms to do some exploring with their great uncle and great aunt, so the birds and feathers emphasis for one of the listed challenges became a good fit to use with this photo.

before editing= no little dots of color with the gems

CHALLENGE BLOGS' PROMPTS and LINKS=

a. and b. Double Trouble #22 joint challenge with Use Your Stuff #348
*D.T.'s Thing #1 Tic-Tac-Toe board  using 1st column

c. Little Red Wagon #484 use some type of movement

d. Counterfeit Kit Challenge February 2019 #2 is feathers for scrapbook layout which fits the naturalist theme collection from Kaisercraft that our copy cat kits are to reflect (see the CKC post for several Master Forger's examples for ideas); all papers and embellishments were in my folders for my Feb 2019 "Bodacious Botanicals" copy cat kit for CKC

DESIGN NOTES FOR CHALLENGE ELEMENTS=

a. for UYS= magical--sweet time for the girls to be together
b. for DT= Thing #1 Tic-Tac-Toe board--diagonal of die-cuts with pocket cards on the bottom half; image of photo; and blue hues from the feathers, base cardstock, and soft light blue tones throughout others
c. for LRW= movement--location of brads in bottom left corner can be reversed in their placement and if there are rotated upwards, they will review a very charming 'steam punk' bird!!!
d. for CKC= feathers--2 large feathers cut from a scarf and 4 pocket cards have birds/feathers-wings and the base paper's title and hidden bird are also part of the feathers' elements

Above: corner pocket cards rotated upward to show the corner design of the base cardstock

Below: the way I prefer to have the corner pocket cards (I really love the flashcard style pocket card!)

cards rotated making this part of the layout interactive:

Love this layout! It was fairly easy to assemble! I spent under an hour on it last night and only about 15 minutes on it this morning before taking photos. That's taking longer...photos and blogging...oh, well!!!

Multiple Challenges Layout filled with blues butterflies glitter movement and embellishments

Before starting this scrapbook layout, I looked at a bunch of challenge blogs for what's current and will try to get many covered within 1 page:

LOOK:
journaling tags at the top of the layout have been rotated to show what's hidden underneath!!!
CHALLENGES/BLOGS:

a. and b. Double Trouble #22 joint challenge with Use Your Stuff #348
*D.T.'s Thing #1 Tic-Tac-Toe board  using 1st column

c. Shopping Our Stash #389 use something colored with markers--"make your mark"

d. Little Red Wagon #484 use some type of movement

e. Counterfeit Kit Challenge February 2019 #1 sketch/1 photo minimum placement plus lots of embellishments scrapbook layout based on a Paper Issues similar challenge (see the PI sample photo for the original idea and the CKC post for several Master Forger's examples for ideas); all papers and embellishments were in my folders for my Feb 2019 "Bodacious Botanicals" copy cat kit for CKC

Magical: besides my nieces being super special to me, I love butterflies and believe they add unique "transportation to a different place" kind of joy!!!

Tic-Tac-Toe 1st column: (a) silver/gold seen on little yellow/gold heart sticker, 2 butterfly metal stickers have gold, and gold paint pen circles on doily; (b) sentiment is LOVE sticker; and (c) die-cuts of ticket with roses, butterfly circle tag, roses border piece, and narrow tag under brad on butterfly tag. There are extra elements too like the glitter, image/photo, and blue hues.

Colored Markers used: the roses die-cut was black outline on white cardstock until I got ahold of it!! Roses have light pink, magenta pink, red, and purple. The leaves have teal, green, and/or yellow-green.

MOVEMENT: top left and right with small brads, the journaling tags can be rotated to reveal 'hidden' treasures like the little metallic yellow heart above the roses die-cut and the metallic butterfly and hexagon patterned tape  to its right.

1 PHOTO with LOTS of EMBELLISHMENTS: 3 journaling die-cuts and 1 journaling tab, 2 white butterflies/stick-ons, 2 light blue butterflies/stick-ons, 2 metallic foil butterflies, 1 little yellow heart, 2 little blue hearts, roses die-cut border piece, LOVE glitter sticker, 3 magenta heart stickers, 2 sections of hexagon patterned tape, 2 little brads, 1/2 of doily = 23 pretties added to the layout that has 5 different patterned papers/cardstocks!!!!

This very full scrapbook layout was a delight to assemble and actually took only about 60-90 minutes to complete from start to finish!!! I love it!! I kept the 3 main colors as yellow, blue, and green with pink hues as the bold accent to pop on this very busy, give your eyes lots to look at layout!

Until next time, Becca S

CKC blog Feb 2019 kit scraps make 4 mini gift enclosure cards

About a week or more behind in making these, yet isn't it the thought that counts? And better late than never?!!!

For my younger nieces and nephew who range in ages from 14 to 22+=

link to the most recent posting at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog with topic about 'killing' your kit:

I'm still wanting to use more than just the leftover scrap pieces so I haven't 'killed' my February kit; however I'm slowly using bits from the scraps bag which is a wonderful feeling! {kit= Bodacious Botanicals}

All 4 of these mini gift enclosure cards features a patterned paper scrap included in my Feb 2019 kit for CKC. The owl and little star stickers were also buried in my kit embellishments also for this month. And the black plus teal glitter alphas have been used off and on for the past 2+ months; also in the kit. Three decorative tapes have been used previously too. The floral one on the right is a new purchase! It's part of the 2018 Splendor collection from My Mind's Eye. I bought a special offer featured on "Peachy Cheap" site with items from this pretty floral set about 10 days ago and just received about 2 days past! And the pink alphas along with the 'faith' (one of nieces' name!) sticker are off a sheet of Breast Cancer Awareness items that was part of a mystery bargain box bought in the fall from the "Peachy Cheap" site. Another feel good moment using bits and pieces of items that have been added slowly into my inventory.

Now to get these matched up to their chocolates sampler boxes to get mailed! [We live 10 miles from a delicious chocolate candy company! Local treasure for our Valentines!]

CKC Blog Feb 2019 kit used for no 2 penguins card for Challenge 50 at 12 Months of Christmas Link Up

Penguins Power times 2!! Love this cartoon like strip digital freebie from Bugaboo so much that I had to make 2 Christmas cards using it while crafting last night!

link: https://12monthsofchristmaslinkup.blogspot.com/2019/02/challenge-50-opt-twistpenguin-power.html

read the previous post showcasing the version with the dark green cardstock base to get some details about some of the vendors and supplies.

Gray, purple, or bright pink markers were used for some highlighting and outlining details around the penguins; on the snowflake/star cut-outs; and for stenciling of 2019.

Simply adorable and charming! Thanks for following my paper-crafting endeavors! I enjoy being creative each week whether through crafting or playing the piano, which is mostly for church services. If I don't have this time, I just feel blah. So let's hope this coming week has some wahoo! :) Becca S
