July 2020 Week 4 Technique of Sewing for no 28 at 52 CCT Blog

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart would be happier if I had one of my sewing machines set up but in a tiny house I just haven't found a spot, so I'm content to use some faux sewing techniques for Challenge no 28 at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

*lacing with the silver ribbon
*faux stitches with the staples
*dotted impressions in a bordering line highlighted by silver paint pen and green soft paint/wax type of crayon in pine needle patterning to look like sewing machine needle hole punching or a tracing wheel

Plan a Date for Friday, the 25th Christmas card=

MTTC Blog Challenge no 437 Summer Wedding Theme

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Short and simple...I've had extra appointments and stuff this week so little time to work on a draft for this fortnight challenge for My Time To Craft challenge blog. Our theme is Summer Wedding, however I'm overdue for an anniversary card so I did just a general love and heart with the sentiment of "better together".

My wedding/anniversary elements include the swans, heart, having 2 butterflies, having 2 sets of 2 hearts, and the sentiment "better together".

July 2020 Week 3 Theme of Santa Challenge no 27 for 52 CCT

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart and soul have enjoyed a bit of cooler summer temps these past few days--low 80s! Before this blog is revealed we are suppose to be back into scorching temps and heat indexes!!! Ugh! So internally cool down by thinking about Christmas and specifically about Santa.

That's our theme for Challenge #27-20 at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge blog! I've made 2 cards yet only sharing 1 at 52 CCT. The 2nd card is made with several of the same supplies and a layout variation but it is a humorous version that I intend to give to my husband for Christmas--he's MY Santa! :)

Card #1: Hi! Santa

Card #2: I [heart/love] Santa

Supplies:
a. The tri-dotted patterned paper and the strip of black and white checked patterned paper = The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby
b. Red ribbon and white card bases (w/ matching envelopes) = Crafter's Choice
c. the rest of the embellishments, red ink pad, red glitter paint pen = in my stash for awhile
d. and if you haven't figured it out yet, the Santa image is an upcycled gift tag that is overlapped a bit on top of it's back piece that I reversed to use the dark pine green rather than the white...a set of 6 or 8 designs were what came in the tag packaging...I thought they had some good graphic designs. This one was perfect for our Santa theme!

June 2020 Nature's Splendor in Petals and Wings Scrapping Kit Usage Review

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! In June 2020 I had the great honor for being asked to serve as Guest Designer for Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog. CKC's Master Forger Tara served as the hostess. She picked the inspirational kit that I based my copy-cat kit on as well as the main Challenges for the month. I participated in the first of the month reveal to show my kit of papers and embellishments. I had my forgeries made at that time too so they were included in that first posting and again for June 4th Forgeries on the Fourth posting. Then I participated in the 1st challenge titled "Wonderful World".

Encouragement card for a young niece
This card will also be seen further down in the posting. I'm using it here as a featured photo because I used 3 washi tapes, 1 patterned paper section, 2 foil butterflies, 1 pink fabric flower, and 3 puffy heart stickers from my June kit for CKC!!!

This is what started the very creative month for me:
Here's the collage photo for the selected kit for June 2020 at CKC=

These are a few of my paper and embellishment snapshots for the compilation I referred to as "Nature's Splendor in Petals and Wings" which is a nod to lots of flowers and butterflies I included in my kit.

These are my kit projects for the month:

This will be added to a chronological notebook binder and the flowers and bushes are from house #3 (as are the lilacs shown next).

Above: an 8.5" x 11" layout for Challenge 1
Below: a TN size layout for the Forgeries on the Fourth using my copy-cat floral stenciled and embellished cardstock

Traveler's Notebook (slimline style) in a new TN featuring properties where we've lived in our 24+ years of marriage. We are on house #5!!! These lilac snapshots were from #3.

LOTS of CARDS=

I love the roses washi tape paired up with the papers and accents! Another Christmas card for my growing stockpile!

Above: the checkered paper added as a neutral to the kit was used for the Christmas card PLUS the pinkish cardstock circle that is the 2nd layer below the script/text cardstock is the 2nd or B side of the pinkish mauve cardstock seen in the next Christmas card

Below: the gem dots from both cards were part of the embellishments and the white with pink dot patterned paper scrap I think was in the bottom of the stacks but isn't showing in the pics I selected up above; and the pinkish mauve cardstock was mentioned for the above card

A sketch based Christmas card challenge for my December stash.

Another Christmas card for a snowflake theme challenge and it will wait in my stash pile until December.

Both of these cards have a dotted paper included in the stack.
Below: the cardstock scraps were leftover from other cards; the gold serrated edge circle and the reddish-purple circles along with gem dots, acrylic bits, and stars are from the massive amounts of embellishments

A slimline non-traditional Christmas card for my growing stash for this December.

high school graduation congratulations card for a niece

Above: the cream and floral cardstocks were already cut and applied to the honeycomb gold cardstock card base; the card was finished with a recycled strip of packaging, washi tape, foil butterflies and lots of crystal gems from the kit

Below: The Moroccan tile cardstock scrap, the large love print cardstock pieces, and the small text heart are papers included in the kit along with the the light pink and rose acrylic bits, puffy hearts-stars-and-hexagons.

Anniversary card for a nephew and his wife; I added a #4 to the small text print heart before I mailed.

not finished on the inside yet; I'll either use for an upcoming birthday card or as an encouragement card

Aoove: the dotted 'sand' paper was perfect to make a summertime theme card; the glitter flowers and 2 washi tapes that are layered with a micro thin laid on top of the wider dark green are from the kit; plus the gem dots used as flower centers

Below: Oh, my! This card has more of the Moroccan tile print and small text print cardstocks from the kit along with glitter flower, puffy stars-heart-and-hexagons, and glitter black laid on top of a glitter white decorative tapes, plus a gem dot as flower center all from the kit.

Expectant Mommy card sent to my god-daughter

Encouragement card for a young niece

Above: from the kit: butterflies, washi tapes, large love text cardstock, puffy hearts, bright pink flower

Below: another sheet of the dotted 'sand' patterned paper and a strip of the checkerboard patterned paper; glitter flower, gem dots,

Encouragement card

Wow! Lots and lots of variety in occasions, digital images, lettering, and some additional embellishments along with solid color cardstocks for either card or layout bases or for printing the digital images on.

And guess what????!!! There are still scraps and full sheets left as well as embellishments from this compiled kit however I did put a dent into the piles!!! And it was a lot of creative fun seeing how I could use everything for so many different situations.

MTTC Blog challenge no 436 Christmas in July theme

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My body and brain were overloaded with LOTS to do all day long on the day of deadline with a card to make. I'm already on a specific Christmas card making challenge blog, so I decided to give myself the prompt of an all green card.

Dumpster diving was next. Kidding! Stash treasure hunt--yes! I've got 4 shoe box size containers inside the house currently. I've got more Christmas and winter season supplies out in the garage; probably 2 or 3 boxes I believe. It was so difficult to find green-only Christmas products. If I would allowed green and white...lots more options. Extremely difficult but I kept it to all green. Base card was made with solid green cardstock 5" x 7". And then 3 scraps with the center one coming from a Christmas paper pad collection.

Accents are from various suppliers such as Webster Pages for alpha stickers, Pen + Gear for washi tape, and Bo Bunny for the green flower die-cut.

#436 All Green Season's Greetings Christmas card=

green glitter paint pen was applied to the center of the flower along with the accenting on the petals

and the flower is raised off the background paper scrap with a round adhesive foam dot.

Remember: you can do anything Christmas for your project, too; and it doesn't need to be a card either. Check the MTTC posting for details but I'm pretty sure you could make a tag, a Christmas party invite, a Christmas treat bag topper, a Christmas theme candy bar wrapper, etc.
