Queen Anne's Lace Get Well Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Greetings! Today's card took me about 40 minutes to make and features 3 patterned designs from the Mint Berry paper pad that I'm intending to bash in 2022. Previous cards made with MB designs have been love/Valentine's theme but I'm needing to take time for sympathy and get well cards before I create more for V-Day.

The base cardstock is actually a pale peach from a multicolor pack from Astrobrights/Neenah. So the border sticker was picked because it has an orange posy in its repeat and I had the deep orange glitter posy stick-on to give more orange to this mostly gray and sage green card. I know the posies don't match the Queen Anne's Lace on the patterned cardstock but they were picked for their colors rather than their shape/type. :)

Queen Anne's Lace Get Well card=

 More design notes:

1. Mint Berry paper pad is from The Paper Studio circa 2016. I purchased at end of 2017 or start of 2018. The 20 designs x 4 each of the original 80 sheets are horizontal formatted and are about 4.25" x 6.25". About 7-10 days ago, I decided to make this my personal crafting challenge for 2022 to try to use it all up. (63 full sheets + 3 scraps and I'm now to about 59 sheets)

a. Queen Anne's Lace

b. sage green with white tally marks

c. charcoal gray with white x's

2. sage green solid color cardstock scrap is from Pen + Gear

3. black inked edge and stamping made with other stash supplies

4. embellishments have been in my supplies for awhile too...good to get these used

Love Scraps Valentine Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I'm experimenting color mixes and layout with another card made with the Mint Berry paper pad. The focal panel has had a small piece used in a heart cut-out in a previous card but now I'm featuring a section about 2.75" deep x 3 or 3.25" wide. The flower in the design looks like a peony but previously I've referred to as a rose. Two scrap strips of 2 more Mint Berry prints are behind the panel along with a solid sage green and a mid-gray.

Love Scraps Valentine card:

Isn't this lovely? I'm really enjoying coordinating the Mint Berry designs. The pale pink scallop is being used for the first time in this 2022 bash of this paper pad. The arrow point type chevron has been used before...and I love this print so much that I'm parting it out sparingly! :)

More design notes:

A. cardstocks: prints are from Mint Berry paper pad by The Paper Studio, 2016 and the solid colors are Astrobrights (pink base), Pen + Gear (sage green), and Art Skills/Crafter's Choice (mid-gray)

B. gems= red hearts and pale pinks are from stash

C. love red glitter foam sticker= stash

D. black inking on cardstock edges

E. dimensions of this top-folded card are 4.25" wide x 5.5" long

From The Heart Valentine Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! The left side bar of this next Valentine card in my Mint Berry stash is a crazy departure for me with stamping reversed every other time! Look below to see this! The Paper Studio's Mint Berry paper pad from 2016 had 63 + 3 scraps remaining from the original 80 sheets (not even full-sized but 4.25" x 6.25") when I decided to pick this as my 2022 personal bash stash challenge.

From the Heart Valentine card=

More design notes:

A. The patterned cardstocks are from Mint Berry paper pad. The pink with white x design is being used for the first time in my 2022 bash stash challenge. This is the 3rd time that the peony/rose print has been used and the 3rd time too for the arrow point/chevron.

B. From the Heart stamp (Sum More Fun; website/company closed)

C. black ink pad for stamping and for inking cardstock edges

D. embellishments of clear gems, silver and pink glitter foam heart stickers and the pink glitter love sticker are all from my stash

E. mid-gray cardstock (Art Skills/Crafter's Choice) and pink cardstock base (Astrobrights/Neenah)

F. dimensions are 4.25" wide and 5.5" high

Multi Hearts Valentine Card made 28 Jan 2022

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Last night I made another Valentine's/love card featuring one of the designs from the Mint Berry paper pad collection I'm trying to bash in 2022. I love this charcoal gray background floral patterned paper from the MB pad (The Paper Studio, 2016).

I decided to add two accent strips/bands across this featured patterned paper in the design gap areas between the floral clusters. I'm not thrilled that some of my stamped hearts smeared! They needed to have more drying time before I started using it...sigh. Outlining each stamped heart with a rollerball ink pen helped salvage that just a bit but not completely.

Multi Hearts Valentine card=

More design notes:

1. Mint Berry paper pad collection, 2016, The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby; full collection had 80 sheets with 20 designs; sheets sized at 4.25 or 4.5" x 6.25"

2. mint green cardstock scrap and mid-gray cardstock section (Art Skills/Crafter's Choice)

3. light gray cardstock base (top-folded with 4.25" x 5.5" dimensions or 1/2 full sheet) from Pen + Gear

4. 4-heart cluster stamp is from a multi-set sheet of clear stamp designs from Sum More Fun

5. red ink pad, black rollerball pen, ribbon, & glitter heart stickers are from my supplies

6. kraft beige paper is just to provide a background to block out the scanner light

e. 100 Pattern Paper group on Facebook; premise/purpose of the group is for crafters to pick 100 patterned papers from your stash (unless you are on Day 1 newbie, we all have our hoarded supplies stored somewhere!!) at the beginning of the year, or whenever you decide to try this, that you purpose to use for the year. Tina, group administrator, has suggested a weekly goal of 2 full sheets (12" square or 8.5" x 11"). I've decided to just focus on this Mint Berry paper pad. It originally had 80 sheets and as of last week when I started this challenge I had 63 plus 3 scraps. Since I'm making cards and using small sections, I technically have only used 2 full sheets this week (63 -- 2 = 61)

Heart Wrapped in Mint Green and White Valentine Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I'm finally using a stamp purchased about a year ago or so just before Sum More Fun closed. Isn't this vine wrapped heart the sweetest thing?!!! I actually inked it with red first and then added some black on top yet when stamping on the mint/aqua green, the tones are photographing more brown to purple-ish, I think.

Anyway, in person, it made the mauve-ish lavender butterfly and the jumbo dots embellishments look perfectly coordinated with the inking of the large stamp. The white heart doily sandwiched between the focal panel and the top of the card base adds to the sweetheart young and feminine Valentine appearance.

Presenting--Vine Wrapped Heart Valentine card=

Additional design notes:

1. sage/mint green cardstock (Pen + Gear) for card base (4.25" wide and 5.5" high) and for focal panel (3.75" wide and 4.25" high)

2. purple paper is just for background filler to block out scanner light

3. easy to make; from start to finish about 30 minutes

2022 Jan 26 Hearts and Sweetness Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I'm super excited to share that I recently decided to focus on bashing a paper pad that I've been hoarding--"Mint Berry" from The Paper Studio (2016).

A Facebook group called 100 Pattern Papers challenges crafters to pick out 100 designer print papers out of their supply stash to use in 1 year. As I started seeing different members post at the beginning of the month, I didn't think I would use this approach. But as I started making love/Valentine cards, I kept going to this gorgeous mix of small cardstock designs. So instead of 100, about 3-4 days ago, I had 63 full sheets (4.5" x 6.5") and 3 different sized scraps left to use out of the original 80. [80 sheets= 20 designs x 4 each]

If I remember correctly, this paper pad collection wasn't bought until late 2017 or early 2018. I've had 3+ years to use this collection...thenceforth let the stash bash begin this week!

Hearts and Sweetness=

Design notes:

1. from the mentioned "Mint Berry" paper pad= the center heart cut-out on top of the large red glitter heart

2. red ink used to edge the papers and black ink to fill/change the white dots on the center heart cut-out

3. embellishments have been in stash for over a year

4. also the 2 sentiment/word stamps were purchased about a year ago from a company that went out of business (Raisin Boat/Sum More Fun...)

5. light gray cardstock for card base is 4" x 5.5" top folded (Pen + Gear)

6. mint green/aqua cardstock for background is 3.75" x 4.25" (Art Skills)

challenge blogs and Facebook groups:

A. 100 Pattern Papers group; sharing/challenge group; I only used about 1/4 of 1 sheet (4.5 x 6.5") and used 3/4 of another sheet yesterday; and used some scraps a couple of days before that...63+ -- 1 = 62

B. Paper Craft Challenges #457= floral love theme/photo inspiration

*the mint is part of the badge and not the photo however it closely matches the greens of the patterned heart and background cardstock; large flower in the patterned heart; different pinks (gems, small glitter foam heart stickers, in the patterned paper, and the cupcake stick-on)

Winter Holiday Celebrate Card based on a sketch

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! This is my 2nd card for the year and in about 5 months! It feels SO good to be creative! To think creatively! To get my fingers messy with 2 different stamp pad colors and a mid-blue paint stick!

This card is also combining 3 different challenge blogs' criteria. There's an anything goes winter/January theme, an inspo list of 10 items/themes that I have to use at least 3, and a Christmas/winter holiday card with sketch. I only gave or mailed out a few Christmas cards to my immediate family, so I've got belated cards made last year I need to get mailed asap and I'll include this one too.

Winter Holiday Celebrate Card:

Supplies: (1) bronze dazzle word is from Paper Wishes website; (2) snowflakes stencil is from Simple Stories; (3) gold and light blue cardstocks, A2 white card base & matching envelope, blue ink stamp pad, gold ink stamp pad, blue paint stick (from a set of 4 colors) are all from Art Skills' Crafters Choice; and the (4) blue foam snowflake sticker (from a huge set in 5 different colors bought years ago) is from Oriental Trading.

Challenges:

A. Festive Friday #0100= the 3 items I used were splatters, celebrate/celebration, and gold

blog post: https://festivefridaychallenge.com/festive-friday-challenge-ff0100/

B. The Four Seasons Challenge blog= anything goes winter/January challenge theme; I was inspired to use wintery blues and snowflakes (stenciling on the focal background and the large foam one); this is their mood board for January:

First card for 2022

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! It's hard to imagine that this is the first card I've made in 4 1/2 months!! After three previous years of regular weekly crafting, it has felt really great to do some crafting in the late hours of Thursday!

This card is based on a sketch I saw a couple of days ago on 52 Weeks to Christmas challenge blog. And later in the post I will show that. I took a few creative liberties with the sketch like scattering the white glitter snowflakes but felt since they were white like the base, it was more like adding texture to the card base rather than embellishments. The card base had the small square opening so I didn't widen it to match the center square shape shown on the sketch. The poinsettia is for the circle shape....

Vendor notes:

a. the card base and matching envelope are from Studio G

b. poinsettia, snowflakes & bow stickers are from Dollar Tree

c. striped paper is from stash

d. green cardstock is also from stash (either Neenah or Pen + Gear)
