why: This posting shares my 2nd design team project for Creations in Pink, a crafting challenge blog owned by Marlene A. The theme is anything goes mainly in pink. I'm trying to avoid buying more stuff right now and focusing on using stash--my treasures-- treasure hunting through some supplies on my table came up with this pretty unique card. 

when: #92 starts April 15, 2026 and lasts to about May 12th. 

what: Project #1 = "Together"

and a closeup scan to try to see the alcohol ink better; but I think the scanner light just faded it more; it's actually more like a neon pink in person

1. white cardstock (CS) = Georgia Pacific; half sheet vertically cut then cut into half; 1/2 was deckle-trimmed with decorative scissors then ink stenciled

why: Finally! Another page entry for My Mondrian Mondays Journal notebook! About 3-4 weeks ago, both my husband and I had head colds. Then 2-3 weeks ago he had a cardiac stress test. Thought he passed but he didn't. So last week he had an angiogram/catherization procedure and got a stent partially cleaned out. The cardiologist did what he could within a 2 hour time frame. Hub's already feeling a difference in that 30-40% gained in just 1 small vessel! So that's great! Whew! Crazy! Then lots of challenge blog duties between Feb 27-March 7 took what remaining time I had between appointments, doggy care, etc. February's gone and March is quickly passing by, too!!! This geometric design started with overlapping an index card twice and then laying a stencil over most of those shapes. The top left corner of the stencil was placed in the top center corner near the top of the page. That's why there is a section left without stenciling. I decided not to re-lay down the stencil on that area. I thought about leaving it white but instead opted for color. I also decided to let some of the stencil shapes to overlap past the rectangle 'borders'. 

If you're not familiar with this personal project series of mine, a year ago I decided to start a journaling notebook with Dutch artist Piet Mondrian's famous geometric composition paintings as my muse. Over 30+ years he painted some still lifes, landscapes but several variations of geometric designs. Most of his geometric block designs are using squares or rectangles, so this one with mostly stenciled triangles is a quirky twist by me!!!

My Christmas or Not Bingo DT #10 with a Column B and a Column O cards starting 1 Nov 2024

purpose: this posting showcases my newest DT contribution for Christmas or Not Bingo Challenges blog

when: #10 starts November 1-December 15, 2024; must use the BINGO board and only use 1 vertical column; mine is "o" for project #1 and 'b' for project #2 using sponsored image

what: Project #1 using 'O' column = free, purple, pearls, stenciling, doily 

notes for #1: 

1. base print red-purple paper = SU

2. purple/lavender and gray cardstocks = Art Skills

3. white cardstock base for the stenciled panel = Neenah

4. half doily top layer is silver foil, so I reversed it to the paper layer and used purple watercolor marker to make it purple = Crafter's Square (from a set of 12 small circular/scalloped doilies)

5. stencil = Pink and Main; colored pencils used to fill  are stash; handwritten Advent words

6. die-cuts = Simple Stories; red or pink colors changed to magenta (red-purple tone)

7. a mix of pearls and gems = Crafter's Square

14. bleaching = cotton-tip swabs used to apply bleach on 4 cardstocks/papers= (1) mint/sage green cardstock (Neenah) in horizontal swipes; (2) tan/light kraft tone cardstock base (old Pen + Gear) in dots along the bottom edge; (3) the rust/autumn tone large dot paper (Faboolous collection by Simple Stories) dotted just on the orange dots; and (4) the horizontal autumn tones striped paper (also Faboolous collection) swiped just on the dark brown stripes of the design

My MTTC #543 Spring Season Theme DT card on 20 Sept 2024

purpose: This posting features my newest contribution as manager/DT member of My Time To Craft challenge blog. We have a worldwide design team and one of the members is from Australia. Since the Southern Hemisphere has opposite seasons to the Northern Hemisphere, she's now coming out of winter season into spring. It was her turn to suggest the theme and it's spring season for #543. 

when: #543 starts September 20, 2024 and lasts 13 days only.

what: I've Got That Feeling of Spring in my Heart!

notes:

1. yellow cardstock panel cut to 5"x7" = Pen + Gear

2. purple cardstock strip is 1.5" wide x 6.5" high = Neenah

3. white cardstock focal panel is about 4" wide x 5-5.5" high = Neenah

4. ink outlining using a Aqua Blue alcohol marker = Arteza

5. cursive handwriting lettering using a Pea Green alcohol marker = Arteza

MTTC #514 Stenciling Theme DT project for 11 August 2023

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!! My heart's so happy with the results of this heart-themed card! YEA! A several years old varied hearts stencil sheet has been traced onto kraft paper. And the cardstock print base is one I've been hoarding in my stash since about 2010!!!

WHAT: My Time To Craft challenge blog's #514 stenciling theme

WHEN: August 11-24, 2023

SHOW and TELL:

1. print cardstock base is a very old hoarded stash item since approx. 2010!!! I don't remember the vendor.

2. varied heart stencil sheet = Dollar Tree

3. stencil sheet laid on a kraft paper section; with about 6 marker colors applied and then outlined with black permanent marker; marker colors chosen that were similar to the printed cardstock's colors

4. text box sentiment was one of many different expressions typed on a Google document that was printed on kraft paper; I applied yellow colored pencil on top to offer contrast from the stenciled kraft paper underneath it;

SHOW and TELL: birthday candles card

1. base is the light-medium blue; cut to approx. 5.5" high x 4" wide

2. white cardstock is about the same size

3. navy blue cardstock is the same size as an index card

4. light blue with little white stars cardstock is about 4"square

5. stenciling; was part of a circular stencil bought at Dollar Tree; traced with pencil first and then after stamping, I used a medium blue marker for contrast

6. "HB" stamp is a very old Stampin' Up product; one of my favorites that I use a lot

OUAT February 2023 based on My Heart children's book inspiration card

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Well of course my heart is excited about Once Upon A Time and being creatively inspired by a children's book. This month, Deanne, has selected "My Heart" by Corinne for us to interpret. 

I focused on the colors and the heart, giving it lots of hugs, kisses, and more hearts to keep it from getting lonely. No child or other creature/character. I wanted to use lots of grays, whites, and yellows/golds. The gray and white floral washi tape is my interpretation for the 'ground/grass' shown in the cover art.

MIUCB #63 DT inspiration for 1 January 2023

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

This personal paper-crafting blog post is featuring my design team inspiration for my commitment with Mix It Up challenge blog! #63 is about anything goes with an option of  'no stamping'. 

The MIUCB #63 runs from January 1-February 15, 2023. 

Off and on throughout 2022 I used a few acrylic paints and a gold glitter tempera paint for some mixed media experimenting sometimes with just dabbing and swirling and sometimes with stencils. 

I'm continuing to use acrylic paints and 2 stencils for a New Year's Day card. =

MIUCB DT Project for 1 September 2022

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! It's time for the next challenge at Mix It Up challenge blog! Participants have 6 weeks to enter Sept 1- Oct 15. The theme is Anything Goes with a technique option of smooshing (inks). This is my 2nd design team commitment for MIUCB!!!

I have to admit I haven't done much ink smooshing. It's easier to dab and smear in my opinion. For the backdrop of the stamped sentiment, I applied gray, lime green, pine green, and aqua onto a plastic bowl, spritzed with water, then pressed down the watercolor sketch paper onto the watered ink. This was only 1 application. The sketch paper is thin so I stopped with the one time. I used a circle stencil to trace my shape to fit the lime green scalloped circle that had been in my stash scraps for a long time. 

The olive green patterned paper triangle had also been in stash scraps for maybe 2 years!!! The color hues almost fit an analogous color scheme. Another old stash item are the strips of a long border sticker on the right side. The newest items are the butterflies and then the ribbon 'tape' of light blue with tiny white dots.

19 August 2022 MTTCC #41 Theme is Holly Leaves and Berries DT projects

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart is happy to show off my Christmas cards made for this fortnight's design team commitment at My Time To Craft Christmas challenge blog! Theme #41 is Holly Leaves and Berries (Christmas cards) for August 19-September 1, 2022. 

Card #1 has the 2nd half of a multiple step stenciled panel of holly leaves and berries. The 6" square stencil is from Simple Stories. The key die-cut which so happens to have plaid in the top area that just about matches perfectly with the scrap I used behind it, is from Bo Bunny. The wood label shaped die-cut is from a multi-shaped pack bought at Dollar General that has been colored red, then had red glitter paint pen applied over that with a layer of gold stamp pad ink on top then some white stamp pad ink around the edges! Message and holly leaves with berries were then applied last. Gold glitter tempera paint was applied with my pinky finger over the 'metal' portion of the key die-cut. Three little square gold gems are the last little accent touch.

2 more design notes about Card #1= the green flat cardstock base with a matching envelope are from Darice; I think the plaid paper is The Paper Studio product.

Card #2= Remember This Moment Christmas card

Some design notes and vendors to highlight for Card #2=

1. the acrylic frame is from KI Memories

2. the border stickers are from an old sheet bought from Current Card catalog

3. the small label/tag is from Bo Bunny

4. the green outlined in gold metallic foil dazzles are from Paper Wishes website

5. kraft cardstock base, reddish-orange with gold glitter texture specialty paper, green glitter bow, green gems and green glitter cardstock scrap came from stash boxes

This is a quirky unexpected mix that started with the holly leaves and berries border sticker and label/tag followed by wanting to use the acrylic overlay frame. The dimensions are 5" x 7".
