Baby Theme Challenge for no 168 at S4fC blog

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart is excited because my god-daughter (1st niece) is expecting her 1st baby (boy!!!) who will be my first "great" nephew!! This card will be a surprise thinking of you card to encourage her. Both my niece and her husband are doctors and this whole Covid-19 stuff has made us nervous. A lot more prayers have been said that they stay protected, safe, and healthy.

Since they did a gender reveal a couple of weeks ago, I decided to print the digital image onto light blue cardstock as that nod to the little one.

Pretty Momma Getting Ready card for #168 design team inspiration project for S4fC blog:

Polkadoodles is the prize sponsor and contributor of digital images for the design team to use:

Di's Digi Stamps is also a prize sponsor for #168. Their website is mentioned within their ID badge:

PPCC 387 design team creations with camping theme and blue yellow green color palette

R. V. having fun yet?

I really like how this little scene turned out. The sentiment was cut into a puffy cloud shape and then edges inked in blue with little foam squares then behind it to lift it up.

and 2nd use for the image was to enlarge it with printing option of full page:
isn't this a cute camping theme scrapbook layout? (and more pics shown further down)

PPCC blog's design team creates inspirational works of art to not only highlight prize sponsor's products but hopefully motivate fellow crafters into submitting their crafted works to either win a prize or recognition honor. This week it is another anything goes theme challenge #387. Personally I selected a camping trailer (Camping is Fun digital image) from my designated sponsor, Pattie's Creations Digital Images which sets my theme. For my 1st craftivity, I made an easy scrapbook layout. The background tree paper and the ladybug border computer paper are old stock. The teal blue thin cardstock is from a watercolor patterned cardstock pack from Colorbok. I used some stencils to create the sun rays in the corner, lettering for R. V. and for the little heart-shaped face. I love the yellow, blue, and green hues used to color the camper trailer! So adorable!!! Link for #387:

PCDI's badge. My digital image is from PCDI. Thanks! 4 more DT members are creating with their products, so make sure to visit the PPCC blog post and give us all some feedback.

This is Polkadoodles' badge. Half of the DT are creating with their product(s), so also visit the PPCC blog post to see what was available from this sponsor. And read the prize details from each sponsor, challenge deadline date, participation guidelines, etc.

Inspired By's no 26 photo inspirational challenge since June 29 has been camping--Let's Go Camping. Laurel's blog post for this challenge and her DT crew haven't necessarily focused on camping. Some have used the colors. Some have used quilting looks in their paper creations. Some have used the trees or shapes/lines of the dresser. What does this photo motivate you to paper craft?

My 2nd DT entry is a cute little thinking of you card. The light blue base is 4" x 6.25" and the light gray base is 5" x 7" I believe.

Design notes:
a. old stock: muted teal/pine green/gray patterned paper, cloud print computer paper, thinking of you stamp, blue ink pad
b. light blue cardstock=Colorbok
c. light gray cardstock, and the teal chevron on newsprint patterned paper=The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby
d. birds on a wire=clip art found online
e. teal green glitter decorative tape= sorry, I forget where I bought it about 2 months ago or so
f. camping is fun image is from Pattie's Creations Digital Images printed at contact sheet size with 3 copies, so it looks like a row at a campground site.

PPCC blog 375 for 11 April 2018

Here's my happy spring girl:

Part of the design team had this darling image from Polkadoodles to use for this week's inspiration at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges blog. The other half of the DT had images from Little Blue Button. Use the blog post link to take you to their inspiration cards and links to their blogs so you can leave some sweet thoughts.

Little Blue Button's badge. Read the #375 blog post for a link to their store and prize details they're offering.

Always Happy Birthday challenge month 4 (April) is anything goes theme with an option of balloons. I've not included balloons but the image has a banner and butterfly so if they had a "b" item theme I would have been all set. But the girl is holding a heart and has the sentiment of happy plus the cupcake felt stick-on for some little birthday celebration touches. Here's the AHB badge and link:
https://alwayshappybirthday.blogspot.com/2018/04/april-challenge-birthday-anything-goes.html

and the sketch layout was  my interpretation of this design suggestion by Kelly Holifield for Paper Secrets and shared at Facebook's 100 Pattern Papers Challenge group:

Supplies:
a. marble green tone cardstock and creamy yellow cardstock=Colorbok
b. succulents, chevron on newsprint, paisley, mint green stripe designer papers=The Paper Studio
c. pink with white pots designer paper=Colorbok
d. embellishments=cupcake felt stick-on (Dollar General); glitter butterflies (part of an Easter set of stickers at Wal-Mart); flowers are old stash and don't remember where they were bought
e. digital image was colored mostly with colored pencils; black gel pen for banner string; turquoise marker used for dots in center of flower and for "happy"
f. adhesives: combination of glue stick and glue dots

how it all started after "shopping" through my craft supplies

As I crafted this DT inspiration card with such wonderful spring colors, we had had snow during the night! Yes, April 8-9, 2018 has been crazy weather for Illinois. Normally rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes are more common. Traditional spring with warmer temps and time to be outdoors are thoughts swirling in my head and maybe someday I will actually be able to experience more consecutive hours and days enjoying sunshine. Keep fingers crossed! :)

PPCCB #361

Exciting crafting news! 1st DT inspiration card creation for Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges Blog is posted today for 1/3/18-1/9/18. Yea!!!

http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.com/2018/01/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-361.html

There are 2 sponsors and the one selected for me to spotlight was Polkadoodles. I used their girl with crocus basket digital image in black and white.

http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/This is the link to their online store. You can also find them on Facebook. The prize is still TBA.

Recipe:
a. Neon pink cardstock base (Astrobrights by Neenah Paper, Inc.)
b. chocolate brown cardstock scrap (Colorbok)
c. 3 patterned designer papers (The Paper Studio by Hobby Lobby)
d. digital image of girl with crocuses (Polkadoodles)
e. papers and base edges are inked in green (Horizon Group)
f. staples, glue dots, and glue stick for adhesives
g. Easter sentiments

close up view of the beauty; I colored her to have hazel green eyes and colored the leaf base of her hat and her shoes to match.

I chose to do the front panel off-set/lowered and did a scalloped edge on the pink paisley paper to be off-set/above to provide visual interest.

The inside panel sentiment was lightly colored with green colored pencil to help unify it with colors on the front. I love how this card came together.

Go to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog for all the details about this current challenge and their guidelines for submitting. The theme is "Anything Goes", so that's incredible creative freedom! The blog link is at the top of the post.

Also be supportive of the other members of the Design Team (DT) and check out their inspiration creations and be sure to leave encouraging words on their blogs.
