Loving my AA design team #97 AG theme card for 15 August 2025

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!

why: This posting showcases the newest owner/DT contribution to AA or Ally's Angels, a crafting challenge blog! #97 continues with our theme of anything goes. My choice this time was to go back to inking my card background and then arranging paper pieces and die-cut ephemera into a pleasing layout.

when: #97 starts August 15, 2025 and ends on September 12, 2025 for an offset time period.

what: Project #1 = Hello! Take good care card

how-to & vendor notes for #1:

1. ivory A2 size card base; fold on left side = from pack = Crafter's Square

2. partial circle punched on top edge

3. two partial 6" square sheets used with reversible prints = SU; the yellow geometric is the reverse side of the plaid/tweed print; then the florals are reverse sides for each other

4. orange-tan and blue flower die-cut ephemera = Prairie Rose collection by FPD

5. I added the 'coral' colored pencil and used light brown marker to outline the ephemera

6. two colored pencils (a red + orange) = stash

7. Tangerine Tango stamp pad for ink pouncing using a wad of paper towel = SU

8. 'take good care' wood stamp = part of a small stamp pack= Hampton Arts, I believe

9. "Hello" die-cut sentiment on foam tabs = Little Birdie Handmade Embellishments pack

10. light brown retractable marker pen = Zebra Clickart

Loving my AA #91 DT thinking of you pink card on 15 February 2025

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: this posting showcases my next design team project for Ally's Angels. It is an anything goes theme challenge blog. During the December holiday season, I decided that most of my 2025 DT projects for AA would be made with some new to me supplies. You'll see by the dates that these items are several years old but they were clearance purchases. It's good for me to occasionally add stuff to my stash that's different from my norm. I like to mix and match merging old with new.

when: #91 anything goes theme starts February 15 and ends March 10, 2025

what: "Oh Day!" thinking of you in pink card

notes
:

1. white cardstock base A2 size = Crafter's Square

2. bright pink cardstock panel (decorative scissors used for right side) = Recollections

3. tri-color print paper for oval panel = "Palm Springs" paper pad by My Mind's Eye 2018

4. ribbon = Crafter's Square

5. little gold foil flower die-cut = "Just Chill" sticker book by My Mind's Eye 2020 [NBUS]

6. large flower die-cut & leaves = "Horizon" by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee 2018 [NBUS]

7. 'chocolate chip' stamp pad = SU

8. bright pink "OH DAY" thickers = "Sunshine" Thickers puffy phrase stickers 2019 [NBUS]

9. teal blue colored pencil = stash

My MTTC #552 masculine theme thinking of you DT card on 24 January 2025

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This post focuses on my newest themed DT project for My Time To Craft challenge blog. MTTC's #552 theme is masculine (make it male). Another design team member suggested this topic. It should be very popular. I decided to go colorful, geometric prints, flat and no 'frills'.

when: MTTC's #552 starts on Friday January 24, 2025 and lasts for 13 days.

what: #552 theme is masculine = Hey! Hello! thinking of you card

notes: this will be sent to a cousin who is battling Parkinson's and needs some cheering up; he grew up about 20-25 miles where I live now; his parents are still there however he's been living the past 30 or so years about 3-4 states away.

1. base = Wild Blueberry cardstock = CutCardStock

2. next layer up = Sandcastle cardstock = Martha Stewart through CutCardStock

3. next focal layer = Pop Tone Grape Jelly cardstock = CutCardStock

4. big letter die-cuts = (old) Jillibean Soup

5. two washi tape strips = ? /received in a kindness box

6. scrap strip of purple for the bottom border = Art Skills cardstock

7. papers were inked/edged with = Marina Mist by SU

8. focal area was outlined with black dual-tip marker = Art Skills

where: MTTC #552 blog post

c. Creative Knockouts; started on Jan 16; theme of 'what to say'/use a sentiment; for MY masculine card I wanted some prints that weren't hearts and flowers and luckily in my sifting through the letters left in the pack, I had H-E-Y that repeats 'hello' tape and is an expression that I hear lots of guys use...like I don't remember your name but I recognize your face..."Hey!" or "Hey, you!".... tee-hee

link = https://creativeknockouts.blogspot.com/2025/01/539-something-to-say-polkadoodles.html

d. The Male Room; started Jan 1/still current; theme of 'clean and simple' with masculine; my card is for masculine challenges plus the style was kept clean with the only embellishments of washi tape strips; there is open space in the focal area around the letters, in between the words 'hello' in the bottom tape border and then even on the purple strip bottom border, it's empty/clean

e. Try A Sketch on Tuesday; started Jan 16/still current; sketch with a side strip and 3 overlapping circles; on my card, the sketch is flipped around and then I added some perpendicular side strips/borders

Ally's Angels #74 Anything Goes Theme starting 10 September 2023

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart's excited about using another section from the 2 sheets of  identical overlays from "Hello World" by Allison Kreft Designs from Webster Pages!! These acrylic sheet with cut-apart sections/panels have been stored in my stash for over 3 years!!!

WHAT: Ally's Angels #74 Anything Goes theme challenge blog

WHEN: #74 starts on September 10, 2023 for 1 month

SHOW and TELL:

1. "Happy Little Moments" acrylic panel cut from "Hello World" 12" square sheet; Allison Kreft Designs from Webster Pages; a black permanent marker used on the upper white scalloped border so that is would show

2. 'love' striped journal/cut-apart card from My Mind's Eye; love outlined with a fine detail tip black pen; 3 colored pencils used to make white stripes into orange, green and yellow (same colors as text print on the acrylic);

3. three layers of background paper/cardstocks

4. layered butterfly stick-on; from a multiple color and size package bought at Dollar Tree

B. Creative Artists challenge blog; current; anything mixed media goes; MY card has an acrylic overlay; I altered it by using a black marker to darken the scalloped "curtain" print on the overlay; the cut-apart card had 3 colored pencils used to color-fill the white stripes and repeat the colors of the lettering/phrasing printed on the overlay plus I outlined the 'love' to help define it more under the overlay; gems and a butterfly were added for accents

link= https://creativeartistemixedmedia.blogspot.com/2023/09/welcome-to-creative-artiste-challenge-97.html

C. Love To Scrap challenge blog; current; anything goes that is 'scrappy'; MY card has 5 layers--yellow cardstock base, light peach-orange paper scrap, a light blue cardstock scrap, a cut-apart card, a plastic overlay!!

link= https://lovetoscrapchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2023/09/ltscb-163-anything-goes-ltscb-162.html

D. Paper Craft Crew challenges; current; vertical sketch; MY card's stacked sentiment on the overlay "Happy Little Moments" has "love" printed on the cut-apart card underneath that if off-set and gives a staggered look like the sketch; also the gems duplicate the top right circles and the butterfly's location is different than the bottom left circles but it does give an accent near the bottom of the sketch/card

MTTC #496 DT notecard for Anything Related to Sheep theme

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! This is going to be super short posting for me! --really! Too much going on this week.

My Time To Craft's new theme #496 is "Anything Related To Sheep". At the time, I was thinking winter sweaters, sheep and shepherds for Nativity Christmas cards but this can be so much more in a broader sense. Think of the nursery rhyme Mary Had A Little Lamb for a baby congratulations card or a 1st birthday card for a little girl. A birthday card for a cat lover that shows a ball of yarn. Or even a crocheting or knitting image. Barnyard scene with farm animals including a sheep or lamb. Etc. December 2-15, 2022.

I decided to do a religious thinking of you encouragement notecard=

I've had the Sunday School lamb stickers and the vellum "The Good Shepherd" for probably 10-20+ years!!! The animal print patterned paper, striped patterned paper and plaid cardstock scraps (Fancy Pants Designs) are newer. Also the blue-gray flat base notecard is newer stash item (Darice). The Stampin' Up "Thinking of You" is another old item.

Ally's Angels #64 DT card for 10 November 2022 launch

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart's excited to show a card with some mixed media elements that I made for my November commitment for Ally's Angels Challenge Blog. It is an Anything Goes type challenge.

I initially had thought to do a Thanksgiving or Christmas card but then decided to do a thinking of you style card.

"Just A Note" card=

Take a look at the chevron white and burlap ribbon piece serving as a faux vase/pocket. I took a magenta marker and carefully went over the burlap (plain) 'stripes' so the colors would work better with the patterned papers.

The sticks were longer on the jade glitter flower and butterfly. I just cut them to a size fitting this slimline card. I found these and some lavender ones in a wedding supply section at Dollar Tree about 6 or so months ago. FUN!

I little gold leaf 'dazzle' sticker was applied next to the flower stick/stem. The stamped sentiment needed some help. The stamp is on a wood base and is skewed. I tried to push it around but it's still a bit off and then I used a combination of red and orange inks but they were just too light on the patterned papers. So the magenta marker got used to outline and then red and orange colored pencils were used to fill in "NOTE".

MTTC #494 Theme is Critters design team inspiration card for 4 November 2022

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart is excited to do a country harvest kind of vibe "Just a Note" card for My Time To Craft challenge blog design team commitment. #494 theme is "critters". Several DT members had suggested it this summer and I thought it would be a good broad topic that could go harvest, USA Thanksgiving, Christmas, winter wishes, or could be used for birthday, get well, or other occasions depending on the critter.

#494 launches on November 4, 2022.

Ally's Angels Challenge Blog 10 September 2022 DT Project

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Oh, my stars! What a week with kindergarteners after a 3-day weekend!!?!!! And several DT commitments, too. For Ally's Angels September challenge I decided to use some new to me stash supplies.

Ally's Angels September 10, 2022 challenge release continues with our Anything Goes theme. I used a small white A2 card base with a bubblegum pink cardstock for the background. The gorgeous patterned paper is a specialty type with wonderful texture (see closeup cropped scan pic)! Three layered butterfly die-cut stickers make their flight on the card. A small sentiment block on blue cardstock fits in the corner. Stampin' Up stamp with another one saying "Happy Birthday" for the inside panel add the finishing touches.

and the terrific closeup--

MIUCB DT Project for 1 September 2022

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! It's time for the next challenge at Mix It Up challenge blog! Participants have 6 weeks to enter Sept 1- Oct 15. The theme is Anything Goes with a technique option of smooshing (inks). This is my 2nd design team commitment for MIUCB!!!

I have to admit I haven't done much ink smooshing. It's easier to dab and smear in my opinion. For the backdrop of the stamped sentiment, I applied gray, lime green, pine green, and aqua onto a plastic bowl, spritzed with water, then pressed down the watercolor sketch paper onto the watered ink. This was only 1 application. The sketch paper is thin so I stopped with the one time. I used a circle stencil to trace my shape to fit the lime green scalloped circle that had been in my stash scraps for a long time.

The olive green patterned paper triangle had also been in stash scraps for maybe 2 years!!! The color hues almost fit an analogous color scheme. Another old stash item are the strips of a long border sticker on the right side. The newest items are the butterflies and then the ribbon 'tape' of light blue with tiny white dots.

Butterflies have landed slimline card (about 4 1/8" x 7 1/4")=

Shades of Blue Scriptural Encouragement Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I was so happy to have some late night crafty fun about 9 hours and even more so to craft an extra that is not for a DT commitment. I've had 1 card started for several days and just need to get another crafting session in very soon to get that one done. Many more that I need to get started on as well.

This featured card is on a flat denim blue colored cardstock base that has a matching envelope (Darice) with 2 scrap pieces and a printed Scripture card. I didn't check to see if it was the same size as a business name card or as an ATC. It was received as a gifted extra over a year ago. Three aqua pearl gems and a washi tape version flower petals clustered together for the accents. All chosen for having shades of blue.

Pretty in Pink Encouragement Cards 3 and 4 of planned 4

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Oh my! We have had cooler temps today, some rain, power outage including landline phone, and some needed rest! The power was out for about 1.5 hours and phone was out for about 3 hours. That was Sunday when I was trying to work on taking 1 sheet and creating 4 cards with it. CCMWF had a weekend challenge to use a 6"square patterned cardstock with 2 cut lines on angles so that the 4 sections can be used on 4 cards.

In typical creative Becca fashion, I had to tweak this a bit. I have a paper pad I'm trying to bash this year however it is not sized at 6" square but more like 4.5"x 6.5". I still did the 2 angled cuts but didn't trim as much off as what the guidelines were given at CCMWF. I'm also not using a 6" square card base either. :)

Let's take a look at the 2 encouragement cards that I got finished today, Monday May 16. [There are 2 that were completed on Sunday afternoon.] The small focal cards are from "Promises From God --For Women" made by Christian Art Gifts. Patterned cardstock angled cuts are from Mint Berry paper pad by The Paper Studio. Embellishments are from my stash. Even the ribbon was Becca-ified. It was white and I 'tie-dyed' it by applying 4 different markers on it: 2 shades of pink/magenta, teal green, and gray.

Layouts are almost the same. The shapes/angles of the floral patterned cardstock are different and the embellishments aren't quite the same. The largest pink cardstock is the base. More pinks were used for Cards 3 and 4. And I only used snippets of remaining ribbon from Cards 1 and 2. Vertical format instead of horizontal was another change today.  Thick foam adhesive tape under the Bible promise cards is causing some gray shadow from the scanning process.

And aren't they pretty in pink?!! So sweet!
