My MMMJP #38 final geometric design entry for notebook

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello, I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old artsy-craftsy former teacher and former caregiver who has been slowly transitioning into a different chapter(s) in life. In July, it will be a year since we stopped being weekday afternoon caregivers for a young girl that is considered our honorary granddaughter. We started babysitting when she was just about 48 hours old!! The new parents don't have any relatives in town so they bestowed honorary grandparent status to us! <3 But caregiving also overlapped with my mom's last couple of years. As her needs increased, sometimes my husband and I had to split locations yet sometimes we'd go together and take our little girl with us--along with our dog! sigh....At the end of August, it will be 2 years since mom's been gone.

where: This last entry in My Mondrian Mondays Journal Page notebook is not-related to any design team challenge blog commitment. Some cropped photo images of several Piet Mondrian's paintings from 1913-1919 can be seen at the end of this posting.

when: Monday, May 11, 2026 for #38.

why: 14-15 months ago I started a journal notebook dedicated to geometric designs influenced mostly by the color block/grid line composition paintings of the late Dutch artist Piet Mondrian.

what: #38, the final entry, using my favorite colors of pinks and purples + neutrals

how: outer shape created by tracing a paper doily

1. journaling notebook has 80 sheets of peach grid/graph paper; w/ elastic band closure; I used every other page most of the way through, but I didn't get 40 entries, only 38 due to inks bleeding through.

2. four interior spaces within the design left blank/white like Mondrian

3. black perimeter and interior dividing lines like Mondrian

4. irregular color blocks/spaces like a few of Mondrian's paintings that I've seen

5. new this time = flowery, scalloped paper doily overall design shape + using neutral striped blocks instead of a solid neutral (like the 1 black colored pencil rectangle)

6. outer black line + 3 black striped blocks = Zebra clickart black non-smudge retractable pen

7. three light brown/caramel striped blocks = Zebra clickart brown non-smudge retractable pen

8. thin black lines drawn = Paper Mate's Ink Joy gel pen in black

9. two pink, one red-orange rust, two purple + one black colored pencils = stash box = half of them are Marvy Uchida, the other half are Crazy Art

My Creations in Pink design team #92 card for 15 April 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This posting shares my 2nd design team project for Creations in Pink, a crafting challenge blog owned by Marlene A. The theme is anything goes mainly in pink. I'm trying to avoid buying more stuff right now and focusing on using stash--my treasures-- treasure hunting through some supplies on my table came up with this pretty unique card.

when: #92 starts April 15, 2026 and lasts to about May 12th.

what: Project #1 = "Together"

and a closeup scan to try to see the alcohol ink better; but I think the scanner light just faded it more; it's actually more like a neon pink in person

1C. The Sisterhood of Crafters; new on April 8th; theme of "Make Someone Smile"; My card is pretty. It's soft pastel pink and blush tones are delicate.

More Bible Journaling Two Ways series entries on 17 March 2026

  Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This posting showcases two different types of Bible journaling that I started in 2026. These forms of Bible studies have been done in the past. I'm still behind actual calendar time with the Scripture writing plan, working yet on January verses. And my chosen Word of the Year are two words that are synonyms: overcome and conquer. I've been alternating with the synonyms and Scripture containing those words. Two verses for overcome/overcometh and two for conquers/conquered/conquerors and now 1 verse for overcome.

when: Tuesday March 17, 2026

what: Project #1 = January 13-15, 2026 written Scripture verses page (seen on the right side)

how-to & vendor notes for #1 =

1. journal notebook/page torn out = Crown Jewelz

2. green, red, blue ink pens = Paper Mate's Ink Joy set

3. my first childhood KJV Bible was used to transcribe the verses

4. list of references/passages are from a Scripture Writing Plan shared in the FB group: Christian Card Makers Women's Fellowship; private group, invite by a member only

where #1 will be linked =

1A. Word Art Wednesday; closes in 3 hours; anything goes/family friendly & God pleasing; My journal page is my handwritten verses

link = https://wordartwednesday.blogspot.com/2026/03/anything-goes-weeks-742-743.html

1B. Love To Craft; open until April 15; anything goes; My journal page with 3 days of verses transcribed

link = https://lovetocraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2026/03/ltccb-91-and-ltccb-90-winner-and-top.html

1C. The Outlawz Anything But A Card; still open; theme is in the blog title; this will be my 3rd and final entry; Journal Page is what's being shared

link = https://tolanythingbutacard.blogspot.com/2026/02/the-outlawz-anything-but-card-march.html

======================

what: Project #2 = "Overcome" from John 16:33

how-to & vendor notes for #2 =

21. index card from elastic closure set of ringed cards = Jot

22. green ink pen = Paper Mate's Ink Joy set

23. three tones of green colored pencils = Marvy Uchida

24. my childhood KJV Bible was used to look up and transcribe today's Word of the Year verse

where #2 will be linked =

2A. Path of Positivity; midway/still open; anything goes (opt to use 3 gemstones); My project is an encouraging reminder from Jesus to His listeners: 'be of good cheer, I have overcome the world'! PTL! In the midst of the trials of life, human nature, we/me can find peace through Jesus! John 16:33

link = https://pathofpositivitychallenge.blogspot.com/2026/03/ch-139-anything-goes-positive-with-opt.html

2B. Papercraft Challenges; new on March 15; theme is joy of spring; Since I wrote my Word of the Year journal series card #5 today on March 17 (St. Patrick's Day), I chose light green tones of colored pencils for the large heart and used a green ink pen to do the title line, box highlight around 'overcome' and the page/card entry # in the bottom right corner. Green is the color for clover/shamrocks, part of the Irish flag, and is a color associated with growth/growing

Another Scripture Writing Journal Page + Word of Year Journal Card blogged on 25 Feb 2026

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This project showcases 2 different Bible Study/Journaling personal projects' next installments made on February 24 and blogged on February 25. Through the Christian Card Makers Women's Fellowship group in Facebook, I use the Scripture Writing Plan(s) shared by the group administrator. Since I didn't get this started in January, I've been using February days to go back to the January verses. Most days have more verses/passages given but I've edited because of playing 'catch-up'.

In January, I started doing index card type journal pages/entries for my 2026 Word of the Year (from the Bible). Because I'm at 8.5+ years since a major medical event and just under 1.5 years since my mom passed, I felt the synonyms of 'overcome' and 'conquer' were the best for my 2026 spiritual journey. January's pages 1 and 2 used 'overcometh' and for February pages 3 and 4 using conquers, conquered and conquerors.

when: projects completed on Tuesday February 24 and blogged on Wednesday February 25, 2026.

what: Project #1 = Scripture Writing Plan January 2026 days 11-12

Kleuren met Potloden Challenge Guest DT for 25 December 2025 reminder post

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: The purpose of this posting is to share a Guest DT invite honor from KMP or Kleuren met Potloden or Coloring with Pencils challenge blog. I'm delighted! Most of my participant entries have been my MMMJP entries that are geometric designs in my journaling notebook that are influenced by Dutch artist Piet Mondrian. This GDT opportunity with KMP' sponsor RAM Stamps provided me with this sweet "Girl With Balloon" digital image. Per the title, images submitted are to be primarily colored with pencils. I've added sun, sky and ground to help give an outdoor setting. Reddish hair, clothes in blue, green and pink, the little girl is adorable! She's holding her cat blanket and balloon.

when: KMP reminder post launches on 25 December 2025.

what: Project #1 = Girl With Balloon encouragement card

how-to & vendor notes for #1 =

1. white CS was trimmed to arch shape after printing and coloring = Georgia Pacific

2. RAM Stamps digital image emailed to me by KMP to use for this reminder post Guest DT

3. star print paper = Lawn Fawn; freebie with order (I believe or maybe Scrapbook.com)

4. bright blue CS cut to 3.75" wide x 6.75" = Astrobrights/Neenah

5. enamel stars, heart, and dots = same pack by Freckled Fawn

6. sentiment banner sticker = Garden Party sticker book by Maggie Holmes/American Crafts

7. colored pencils = different vendors in my storage box; I added a blue sky (not rain), some yellow sun, little bit of brown tones for ground/road

a. if you look closely at the girl's face, you might see some pink to give her rosy cheeks; to me the cat face/body looked like it was a blankie and not an actual cat or kitten, so I chose pink ears and peach body/fur; her hair has orange, red, and yellow layers to get a tone that would go well with the star print paper....

8. black fine tip marker = Sharpie (for the outlining of the edges for the image and star paper)

Loving my CCMWF October Scripture Encouragement Card Exchange project

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This is my first time to participate in the swap exchange that was started earlier this year within the Facebook group, Christian Card Makers Women's Fellowship. At the end of current month, the group members are given a few days to comment if they want to participate and how many times/partners they are willing to exchange cards with for the next month. Since I've got lots of challenge blog commitments, I only agreed to create and mail out 1. My exchange partner lives in New York state. I received her card on October 20th. Mine was started before then but due to weekend traveling, I finished mine on October 20th and am getting the blog draft ready on Oct 21-22.

when: October 2025 Scripture Encouragement card exchange; can't post until after my partner receives the card (mailing out on Oct 22) and posts a picture of this in the FB group; she posted on Oct 28!

what: Project #1 = Stained Glass Prayer Card

how-to & vendor notes for #1 = each person gets to select their own Scripture verse to share and however it's used regarding layout, colors, occasion, etc. I chose Psalm 9:1 for my card's verse sentiment.

1. Psalm 9:1 KJV typed in Google Doc; trimmed with deckle-edged scissors; ink dabbed and ink edged

2. Guava mini stamp pad = Lawn Fawn

3. white cardstock = Georgia Pacific

4. deep orange cardstock = Recollections

5. orange tone cardstock = Pen + Gear

6. stained glass prayer card = came in a religious organization's solicited mail at my mom's house sometime in the past 2 years; my mom had saved it and when I came upon it, I brought to my house and placed it in my stash basket. Prayer card edges were distressed using scissors' blade and inked with the Guava mini stamp pad.

7. kraft card (folded; however I cut it apart to create 2 layers with 1 deckle-edge trimmed a bit smaller; edges inked; foam tape between layers to lift up)

8. bright pink gems (from pack of 3 different sizes) = Studio G/Hampton Arts

where #1 will be linked =

1A. Word Art Wednesday; week 2 of 2; anything goes that is positive, family friendly; the blog shares a Scripture verse digital image during each challenge; My card uses a different Bible verse
