Countdown Theme for no 159 at Scrapping 4 fun Challenges Blog

Welcome to my blog, Becca's Heart for Creativity! This post features my design team project for S4fC blog=

#159 Countdown Theme= include these 5 elements on your project

5. digital image or stamp
4. cardstock
3. gems
2. embellishments
1. ribbon or lace (I'm using washi tape, instead.)

I've created 2 different thank you cards using "Air Fairy" from Fabrika Fantasy:

Above: card 1 has all five elements: digi image, pink cardstock and white CS, little white pearl gems on the white butterflies, additional butterflies and pink glitter hearts, and a strip of washi tape through the middle separating the 2 patterned papers.

Below: card 2 has 4 of the 5 elements; this one is missing the gems; I thought it didn't need any additional fussiness since the image has lots of lines and curves as do the patterned papers, foil butterflies, and washi tape strips.

January 2020 Week 4 Technique Challenge of Embossing Impressions for 52 CCT blog

For 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog's 4th challenge with the technique of embossing, I decided to do an embossing or texture rub- kind of impressing using a snowflake plastic embossed 'plate'. I used 2 different blue and 1 silver crayons to do the impressions. The panel is edged in silver glitter paint pen and black marker.

This is my #4 of 52 for the year! only 48 more to go!!! :)

Notes:
a. the snowflake texture plates were purchased many years ago from Oriental Trading Company
b. "Joy" is raised by a foam square and the 2nd 'round' was actually on a wider square of blue and was bought in a set as Christmas gift enclosure type tags
c. the silver snowflake sticker has been in my stash for years.
d. the white scalloped 4.25" x 5.5" flat card base was part of my Christmas gift this year from my sister--WOOT!!!
e. the turquoise paper in the background was used behind the card to block out scanner 'gray tones'

January 2020 Week 3 for 52 CCT blog is theme prompt of gifts

#3 of 52 weeks in the year and this Christmas card features 2 gift package die-cuts and the word gift in the sentiment message.

This is a design team commitment project for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown:

The 2 gift package circular die-cuts have been in my stash for just over a year and are from one of American Crafts' designer lines.

The 3 patterned papers and sentiment message strip are from "Together at Christmas" collection for 2019 by Pink Paislee/American Crafts.

Winter or Spring Theme for no 158 at Scrapping 4 fun Challenge Blog

Since I've selected a winter digital image from prize sponsor Bugaboo to feature, it is obvious that I'm using the winter theme option! #158 is the next fortnight challenge for S4fC blog. My card utilizes a Christmas gift (blue snowflake computer stationery) and a trimmed down panel from a Hallmark Expressions (tm) notecard.

It's a cutie:

S4fC's #158 link can be found here: https://scrapping4funchallenges.blogspot.com/2020/01/challenge-158-winter-spring.html

Bugaboo's store can be found here: https://bugaboostamps.com/

b. Use Your Stuff ends 1/18/2020; anything goes theme for the 1st challenge in 2020; encouraged use of some old stuff= the base card has been in my stash for over a year and the same for the lilac cardstock and the kraft paper that the digi image's paper is mounted to.

c. Paper, Paper, Paper, & Design Team Calls group in Facebook; a sharing group site for crafting bloggers

d. Mixed Media Creativity group in Facebook; mixed mediums used are white paint pen, silver glitter and gold glitter pens; markers, colored pencils; computer stationery; recycled THANKS card front; cardstock & base card

Isn't this digital image just the sweetest?!!?!!! I've used a white paint pen to outline the outside edge as well as highlight the centers of the snowflakes on the stationery paper, the penguins, the little snow piles, and add some tiny snow dots in the 'air'. A silver glitter paint pen was used on the highlight areas of the ornaments and for the snowflakes that were part of the image. A gold paint pen was used to accent some parts of the owl, the penguin's beak, the girl's bangs and freckles!

And I used the white paint pen to partially outline the 'thanks' cardstock section.

Clean and Simple Theme for no 234 Challenge at TCCC Blog

With requesting to use all of the digital images of DDD's Holiday Hoopla Ribbons and Laces, it was nigh on impossible to keep to our CAS theme for this new fortnight challenge!!!!

But by stacking 4 of the 6 together it has the look of a patterned paper. What do you think?

#234 Clean and Simple Theme for TCCC [a 2nd sponsor is Bugaboo; see info and DT's use of their images at the #234 post]=
link: https://crafterscafeblogchallenge.blogspot.com/2020/01/challenge-234-cas.html

my selected images come from DDD

Besides the digital images printed in color and fussy cut out, other products include the 3 ornaments and string of lights die-cuts are from "Cottage Christmas Ephemera Pack" by Fancy Pants Designs, Inc.

and the pastel yellow, blue, and green cardstock are from Astrobrights (Pastels)/Neenah, Inc. and the 'concrete' cardstock is also from Astrobrights (Naturals).

Techniques included distressing the edges of the pastel cardstock strips (1.5" x 6.5"); and inking the edges of the digi images and the cardstock strips. Overall dimension of the base card is 5" x 7".

January 2020 Week 2 for 52 CCT is color theme challenge

  • White
  • Yellow
  • Brown

Got all 3 of them! As a new design team member for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, I had a bit of extra notice about the color palette and my first thoughts kept going to candle light or lanterns. An internet clipart freebie search yielded this 3 branch candle-stand that I printed on to creamy yellow cardstock and then outlined in brown marker with yellow marker and/or yellow or brown colored pencil for some of the interior sections. Here's my mixed media inspiration card=

Challenge 52CCT 2-20 starts January 11, 2020. Since New Year's Day came mid-week, the 1st challenge week didn't start until January 4th. So make sure your preparing for the proper challenge prompt. My color challenge week Christmas card definitely has a rustic and vintage look to it. And is definitely a different vibe than my normal, but then I don't really have a normal predictable style. I'm willing to switch things around a lot which appeals to my attempts to stay creatively fresh.

Supply notes: background patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye; base card is from "Neutral Smooth A2 Cards and Envelopes"-50 count by Core'dinations and distributed by Darice, Inc.; burlap ribbon and yellow raffia 'ribbon' are from my supply stash
