MTTC theme to make it beachy focus starts 25 June 2021

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My Time To Craft challenge blog has a great new theme challenge that got my artsy-crafty heart excited to try something a bit different. I wanted to do a framed paper-crafted home décor that will go in a glass photo frame very soon. I also wanted to do a paper peeling type layered collage so imagine a light filled airy sky that transitions to water, some grass, and some soil/sand. It's as if the flamingo is dancing on the beach...maybe even on her own island! :)

What: my design team project

Who/what: MTTC challenge blog #460

When : starts 6/25/2021 for 13-14 days

Why: new theme challenge 'make it beachy'

Have a flamingo summer! =

link to MTTC's new challenge theme=
Check to see what the other DT members have made for this theme and read the participation details:

a. cardstocks are either manufactured by Neenah/Astrobrights or Pen + Gear

b. wooden die-cut palm trees were a brighter painted green; I applied green glitter paint pen on top of each tree

c. palm trees and stickers were found at Dollar Tree

d. the digital image "Flamingo Dance" is from Createful Heart Designs and colored with markers then somewhat fussy cut to make it appear like the flamingo is dancing on its own beach

link to purchase CHD digital images has been switched from Zibbet to Etsy; CHD owner and graphic artist Mary Smith was notified this week that Zibbet is shutting down July 1st, I believe. So use this Etsy link=

*note the company is based in Indiana, USA; I'm in Illinois but somehow on my computer the prices are coming up as British pounds...hopefully this is just me and doesn't affect where you are....

My Time To Craft Christmas challenge no 12 theme is Use Favorite Christmas Stamp

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart got excited about this new theme challenge for MTTCC challenge blog! I don't have a lot of Christmas or wintery stamps but decided to use 2 new ones purchased about 8 months ago. (1) It's a mitten with a heart in the center of the outline shape! So adorable! (2) The perfect sentiment stamp "From the Heart".

What: My Time To Craft Christmas challenge blog's theme is Use Favorite Christmas Stamp and tell why

Who: me, design team member of MTTCC

When: MTTCC #12 starts June 18

Why: DT inspiration card for #12; in the intro I shared my reason that these are newly purchased rubber stamps; also I've pondered that with my personal blog having the word heart in its title, the mitten's heart and the expression 'from the heart' are going to make these my new favorites! :)

Where: MTTCC #12 link=

Note: #12 is now available when I checked on 6/19 at 4:30 am CST. [we just got a dog on the evening of the 14th!!! A 9 year old small mixed breed male dog that was named Junior but he didn't really respond to so I'm calling him Mr. Bennett after the father in Pride and Prejudice!!! We're in the midst of severe thunderstorms and Bennett needed to go out at 4 am!!! He's drying while I'm checking on the status of the blog. Take care, folks. Check to see what are the favorite stamps for the rest of the crew=

MTTCC blog badge and DT badge=

Design & vendor notes=

1. closed business Raisin Boat/Victorine Originals website for the rubber stamps

2. solid color cardstocks = Neenah/manufacturer

3. patterned cardstock are Side A and B of same sheet from the Away in the Manger collection from Echo Park

4. silver 'dazzles' are available from Paper Wishes website

5. card base is A2 or 4.25" x 5.5"

layout for this card is using Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog and FB group's June 2021 sketch (#11) =

BYSHC blog title image and #11 sketch image =

My sketch interpretation was to move the circle shape up and also lower the horizontal strip because it fits the patterned gap between the rows of the Nativity Manger scenes. The sentiment rectangle was switched to vertical for 2 reasons: the stamp format and the fitting between the vertical space between Nativity Manger scenes.

CHD challenge blog June 2021 monthly challenge starts Tuesday 15 June 2021

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart had to make a card miracle tonight because we unexpectedly became pet parents tonight of "Junior"! A little nine year old dog that is a Dachshund and Poodle mix. This is on a trial basis. For us and him. In 25 years of marriage we've not been pet owners, so we will see how we adjust.

Meanwhile, Createful Heart Designs or CHD challenge blog is an anything goes non-theme paper-crafting challenge. Find out details and how to 'earn' 1 or more CHD digital images from the link included further in my posting. For the #33 June 15th start date for this month's challenge, I selected Mary's "Floral Hugs" digi. It is versatile to fit many occasions.

MTTC theme of things in the sky focus starts 11 June 2021

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart was excited to mix some old and new stuff together for a 30th birthday card! It has an uplifting theme!! (pun) :)

Shell, the MTTC challenge blog owner, has designated the new June 11th two-week challenge with the focus theme of "things in the sky". For my DT commitment, I've got a hot air balloon on a scrap of old MME cardstock and a then a small HAB sticker that's new next to it. Not shown on the inside is a larger HAB sticker with the same colors along with a 'celebrate' expression sticker for an easy inside. There are several little planner stickers scattered around the front focal panel. The arrow stickers, sunglasses sticker, explore sticker, 30 sticker and cork 'ribbon' are new supplies, too. Plus the black cardstock for the base is new.

Enjoy the journey birthday card:

Design notes:
*pink cardstock is 5.5" square
*black cardstock base is a full sheet folded in half in order to give some border on each side

APTS Challenge Blog June 2021 Anything Goes with Twist Option to Make Your Own Challenge

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart got overwhelmed with this card! This might be my only 2nd Z-fold type card. And when it is folded, the dimension fits the slimline criteria.

Confession-- the mixed media panel was my big stumbling block. Hours were spent just on that section!!

My favorite panel is the gorgeous tree with the butterflies and hearts floating above. And the marbled patterned cardstock behind has been a favorite (hoarded). Also used on side 2 of the shortest panel.

So my sister-in-law's parents are getting ready to celebrate 50 years by the end of June. This card is for them. On the mixed media panel I stamped 4 hearts to symbolize their children. The larger stenciled gold glitter paint pen filled hearts represent the couple, Bill and Joanna.

What/Who= A Place To Start challenge blog design team inspiration project

When= June 7, 2021 until early July, 2021

Why= I decided to do the twist option: Card/slimline; Anniversary; Stencils & Sequins & Mixed Media

50 Years of Love Card=

Below: my favorite panel

Above: center panel with the mixed media focus= a recycled "Russell Stover" Valentine candy box heart-shaped packaging section was saved and used to stencil/trace the overlapping half hearts; a large plastic sheet of shapes stencils provided the heart shape for the gold glitter painted hearts.

Below: the "Where you go I go" cut-apart card section did not come with the color-filled triangles. I did those trying to match the colors from the fabulous marbleized patterned cardstock.

Above: the APTS June 2021 twist option choices [I did (1) card; (2) anniversary; and (3) mixed media & stencils & sequins]

Below: the blog badge for resident designers and the direct link for the challenge blog

Link= hopefully my card will get edited in; the June 2021 challenge month posting was released in the past hour=

Design notes and vendors:

a. Thanks for Webster Pages for floral printed tree sticker, green and pinkish-red butterflies, 2 overlapped hearts, the journal/cut-apart card panel "Where you go I go", the small lined label type sticker (this will get personalized before mailing), and the tan/white/orange print cardstock

d. Thanks to Art Skills for the yellow paint stick (soft wax)

e. Thanks to Raisin Boat for the stamped images (Happy Anniversary; heart with small flower in the center; and the trio of hearts with a flourish on each side [purchased before Victorine Originals closed]
