March 2020 Week 4 or Twelfth Week for 52 CCT blog with technique challenge of a window

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! This particular post shows my love for mixing colors and patterns and having lots of layers. With the 12th of 52 weeks that means there are 40 weeks left in 2020. The new challenge week follows our rotation and Week 4 focuses on the technique of window(s). The green tinted and gold edged window frame is part of old stash 1-2 years old. 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog has helped me to use stock I recently purchased to participate in this blog's design team as well as old stash. More on the comparison of old and new a bit later in the posting.

Holly Jolly=

Some design and supply notes:
a. the window frame= I forget who the manufacturer is; I received it in a big bargain box purchase almost 2 years ago from the website Peachy Cheap.
b. The barn siding patterned paper, die-cuts (cluster, pinecone, holly, snowman, and pine 'leaf'), and the multi-floral scenery patterned paper are from "Cottage Christmas" collection from Fancy Pants.
c. Charcoal gray and green cardstocks are Astrobrights/Neenah.
d. other embellishments are 3 colors of gems, silver glitter paint pen, and a dark green marker are old stash
e. the window scene were lifted off the background cardstock with the help of 8 round foam adhesive dots
f. the damask patterned paper is just used to block out the scanner light of the printer
g. the die-cut on the L corner was slit between 2 leaves so that I could nestled part of it up and over the corner of the window
h. the die-cut on the upper R corner is on the window frame which is up higher than the holly and the pine leaf due to the foam adhesive dots lifting up the window frame.

Here's a pic of the card angled as it sits on top of the printer=

Candy Cake or Ice Cream theme challenge no 163 for S4fC blog starting 27 March 2020

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart thought of a friend that has been very supportive in my teaching efforts so I decided to create a bookmark with images from #163's sponsor, Oddball Art by Lizzy Love for the new theme challenge at Scrapping 4 fun Challenges blog. The set had lots of images so I selected two--muffin and the cobbler/cake. To really draw attention I decided to print on bright orange cardstock. The sentiments are similar to what was in the set but I typed my own in order to get a good font size to fit within the parameters of the bookmark.

Thanks, sweetie! You're a peach!=

Adorable, isn't it??!! The colors of the papers and embellishments coordinated very well! Lots of options with this theme, so make sure to participate and also go to the S4fC blog to see what the other members of the DT crew made with their images.

Some design and supply notes:
a. different colors inked on edge of base and background cardstocks
b. all papers were inked with a reddish brown
c. the striped and dotted cardstocks are pieces of a blank note card from American Greetings that I upcycled to help drive the color palette for the bookmark.
d. big gem dots are from Crafter's Choice
e. a gold metallic pen and a gold glitter paint pen were used on the OA images along with colored pencils in dark orange, yellow, and brown
f. the cotton candy cone and cherry topped cupcake die-cuts are from a collection line that is part of American Crafts (sorry, not sure the exact name)
g. the yellow and white chevron striped cardstock scrap is from My Mind's Eye line of products available from American Crafts
h. another embellishment is the golden beige grosgrain ribbon (old stash)

March 2020 Week 3 or Eleventh of 52 CCT blog theme of Christmas Lights

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity! My love of bold colors and mixing patterns are part of the motivation behind my thought process as I sorted through my Christmas supplies to make this "Deck the Dog" card!!

Seriously, the theme is Christmas Lights for the 11th challenge in 2020 for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. The 3rd week of the month for rotation is either a theme or recipe depending on the design team member who is in charge of the month's selections. Goga has decided to go with a theme of Christmas Lights and I had a gift tag with the dog's head getting wrapped in strings of lights that I thought would work great as a focal piece=

Off the Edge theme challenge no 428 for MTTC blog

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I'm Becca S the creative dynamo and MTTC has a very good challenge theme for you during the next two weeks. The theme is "Off the Edge". Our design team crew have come up with lots of variations for what it means to go off the edge of the card.

For my design team inspiration card  for #428, I folded the cardstock base to be shorter in the front to allow for the semi-circle of pink cardstock to be added plus have the large journal card extend off that shorter front down into the pink half-circle. My mom's going to be surprised that her Mother's Day card has been made early! (A positive out of all this Covid-19 scare.)

You Are Awesome-ness, mom=

Anything Goes with Added Flowers Theme no 162 challenge for S4fC blog starting 13 March 2020

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity! I always enjoy trying different layouts and ways to present digital images so this DT project commitment reflects both of those creative interests. The digital image was printed on bright-type neon green which I thought would give a tropical emphasis. The unusual shape is another visual nod to Rachelle (S4fC) wanting to see added flowers for this new challenge. Glitter and metallic paints add to the vibrancy along with the purple glitter paper, foil-holographic  base for the butterfly sticker, and the 3 puffy flower stick-ons. Here is my tropics-inspired encouragement card=

#162 for S4fC design team project= oversized card using a digital image from sponsor, All Dressed Up, and the theme of anything goes with added flowers
link= https://scrapping4funchallenges.blogspot.com/2020/03/challenge-162-anything-goes-add-flowers.html

The cream cardstock base is to add a light contrast to the bright green cardstock used for the image with the milk chocolate cardstock scrap adding a 'earthy' grounding to all the vivid colors. Creative Devotion is the company for the clear vinyl sentiment. 3M is the manufacturer for the bold chevron striped duct tape.

Prize sponsor is All Dressed Up:
