TN BUJO continues for 2019 Word of the Year and in my TN best friend

TN layout #3 and bonus layouts #4 and #5

My third layout for TN Time with Lisa and Lori will be for my Bullet Journal (BUJO) modified Travelers Notebook entry showcasing Titus 1: 2; ringed index notecard set

#1:
This 2-page spread qualifies for BOTH the prompt and the sketch part for the March 2019 challenges at TN Time with Lisa and Lori.  [left page= I turned sketch to its left and went more abstract on shapes with date for entry as subtitle and the Word of the Year--HOPE as title; right page= I switched the journaling/Bible verse due to tilting the sketch to the left.]

[2 uses of washi tape: left page= a sage green floral from MME that goes over where the 2 papers met; right page= a dark green dotted from MME that goes over where its 2 papers meet]

#2:
From March 2019 CKC blog kit that I made: the 2 washi tapes, the solid color papers, and the tonal green floral patterned paper

One of the posts issued from CKC blog to encourage kit makers to use their compiled stockpiles was this one=
Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog recent blue skies and butterflies challenge link:

#3:
and I will post a snapshot of the completed layouts to the Facebook closed group, Travelers Notebook Scrapbookers, that focuses not on the covers but the inside layout entries.

More pics of the Word of the Year entry of Titus 1:2

LAYOUT #4 is from my TN best friend documenter for March 2019 using TN Time with Lisa and Lori sketch and prompt challenges (L page tilts the pic and embellishments clustered under it and the space above it was used to display a mix of papers, stickers, washi tapes, and decorative tape. R page flip-flops the journaling section from left to right side.) CKC kit was everything except the friends chipboard stick-on and bright tropical flower stickers on each page.

The butterfly is a forgery I created for my March CKC kit which has color filled in (I used eye shadow makeup!)!!!!!

LAYOUT #5 for March 2019 is another BUJO/TN modified entry for Word of the Year featuring I Thessalonians 1:3 (for TN Time with Lisa and Lori= L page is a very loose interpretation because the floral patterned cardstock create chaos as I was trying to puzzle it out. Instead of starting over, I decided to almost fill the left border with butterflies and flowers along with a date sticker. R page has the journaling section/Bible verse like the sketch with a right side section shown by the roses washi tape that is over a music print decorative tape.)

CKC kit= all items except the foil butterfly stickers

These are part of a ringed notecard set, so they will not be seen side-by-side.

Peppermint theme Christmas card with digi item freebies from Polka Dot Orchard

Cold hands yet a warm heart...right?!! Warm inside from a hot beverage. Good fuzzy heartwarming soul moment in receiving a charming Christmas card.

Design notes:
a. background jumbled peppermint theme background images, the mug, and the sentiment are PDO and filled in with a combination of markers and colored pencils (gray, brown, pink, and red)
b. dark green mottled/watercolor cardstock base is by Colorbok
c. iridescent faceted gems were bought at Dollar Tree
d. the red with pink dot patterned paper is old inventory
e. white glitter decorative tape was purchased at Wal-Mart but I forget the vendor name

Overall, I'm pleased with the sizes I chose for printing these free digital images from PDO. I chose 3.5" x 5" for the background; and wallet size for the mug and the sentence message. Pretty sweet! :)

I always love a bargain and I especially love a pretty freebie! These 3 designs (background print, mug, and sentiment) are lovely! And they are only part of the set Jessica/owner & designer made available for free to her blog and website followers!!!

Coffee, cocoa, and tea drinks, expressions, and "cup-ware" have been a big trend in paper-crafting for over a year now. I haven't been a fan of this trend since I don't drink anything with a hot temperature but I do admire other creative souls who have been very clever with this trend. As reluctant as this seems for me, I'm glad I dabbled.

This will be my 3rd and final entry for March and this one does not follow the optional twist theme of brads, buttons, and bows. It is just a Christmas card entry.

This is the 1st year in my paper-crafting when I've started this early in the year making holiday cards! I think I have maybe 7 or 8 ready! This is so exciting! If you ask my husband or immediate family for a characteristic about me they would probably say I'm slow or I'm late. I can get to church on time and work on time, which are important places, correct?!!! I guess it is the other stuff I fall behind on like sending Christmas cards out at New Year's Day. But having challenge blogs with their focus set on making holiday cards all year long might help me celebrate 2019 with less stress and frenzy.

Make a Wish Birthday card

I wish I could fly...like a pretty butterfly!

Blue Skies and Butterflies is the prompt theme for Challenge #2 for CKC blog. I've also used the Moroccan tile patterned paper from MME out of my CKC March kit along with the "forgery" butterfly which will be explained in more depth later in this post. Space/Galaxy is a theme for LRW. Spring Lovelies is a theme for Inspired By. I've tried to unify these using the image of Bianca from Oddball Art for a design team inspiration card for PPCC blog. Did I succeed or fail?

Challenges striving to achieve linking to:

a. PPCC blog #423...I'm back on the design team (DT) starting with March 27, 2019 post!!!! This is my first inspiration card in 8-9 months. And using one of the provided images, Bianca,  from 1 of the prize sponsors, Oddball Art, I've been able to make this dear sweet birthday card=

link= https://pennyschallenges.blogspot.com/2019/03/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-423.html

b. CKC blog using March 2019 kit and Challenge #2 Blue Skies & Butterflies and Forgeries on the Fourth (Moroccan tile print CS is from my March kit; butterfly embellishment is a forgery that I made for that March kit)
https://counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/03/march-2019-challenge-2-blue-skies.html

Scrapbook and Cards Today from Spring 2018 is the selected monthly inspiration to copy cat for CKC blog March 2019

c. LRW #489 Space/Galaxy theme challenge--I've got blue cloud paper and a butterfly...more for sky, not necessarily further away in the cosmos...hmm?

https://lilredwagon.blogspot.com/2019/03/little-red-wagon-489.html

d. IB's #64 not the photo prompt (spring lovelies) but the sketch design prompt is what  I tried to do turning it upside down/reversing...photo-wise I don't have much of the lavender colors but I do have a spring theme...hmm? Subconsciously I might have been influenced by the photo prompt for how I used colored pencils to fill in the Bianca image.

https://theseinspiredchallenges.blogspot.com/2019/03/inspired-by-spring-lovelies.html

this sketch design is what Laurel used/based for her card seen on her LSD blog:

More photos of this charming birthday card:

Notes for the sketch design:
a. the gray rectangle block that has become "Bianca's" spot tripled the area.
b. turn it upside down or reverse the location of the strips that I moved up to the top left side.
c. The cloud print computer paper takes up more space than specified on the provided sketch but I still feel like there is enough elements reflecting the image
d. the sketch design doesn't show any embellishments but I needed to connect the Bianca girl image with the blue skies and butterflies challenges

Have you noticed the blue and black design inside the butterfly? I'm so crazy giddy about this forgery/hack I came up with!!!!!!!!!!!! [forgeries are another challenge aspect each month with Counterfeit Kit Challenges blog]

I accidentally had white cardstock still in my printer tray when I changed the black printer ink cartridge and press the button to print the alignment sheet!!!! Since it was CS, I hated to trash the sheet, so as it laid on top of the printer cover, it dawned on me the other day to see it as a geometric type pattern (or at least 3/4 of it)!!!! I found a black outline butterfly image then sized it for wallet size and then extended for it to be repeated 9 times to fill the page for printing!!! I LOVE the results!!!

Isn't this card super! A cutie pie!!! I think it will be for a niece turning 17 in early April...we shall see. Meanwhile I will still be crafting in my little part of the USA heartland,

Travelers Notebook about my best friend entry 2

TN layout #2 in my best friends focus notebook:

Isn't that drawer pull sticker just the greatest?!!!?!!! And isn't that cool to have washi tapes fill up on the space on the right side of the 2nd page?!!!?!!!

Ephesus Restaurant in Bloomington, IL on December 18, 2018 was our 2nd meet-and-greet of 3 in the past 10 months. Bloomington is closer for me with only a 40-45 minute drive depending on what part of the twin city I need to go; however for my BFF Susie it is about a 2 hour drive for her. With my husband's serious cardiac concerns in the past 18 months and my serious saddle PE event that was almost 21 months ago, it has been very considerate of my dear sweet friend to do more driving for our get-togethers. :)

Hello! Hello! Hello!...I should have stamped the paper before attaching to the notebook page...ugh...lesson learned! Let's move on to the other reasons for posting--link-ups to other blogs or groups=

CHALLENGE 1 Link-up:
This 2-page spread qualifies for BOTH the prompt and the sketch part for the March 2019 challenges at TN Time with Lisa and Lori.

AND

a. sketch design tweaks: I'm not thrilled with the embellishment cluster area under the photo with this 2nd layout but I do like it a tad more than the 1st layout. My photo occupies more space than what was designated in the sketch and the subtitle was moved under the doily with the stamping. On the right page, the journaling section is more narrow than the diagram which allows for more vertical rows/spacing of washi tapes.
b. (#1) peachy floral washi tape is used under the photo of Susie and I together at Ephesus Restaurant in Bloomington, IL  and (#2-5) a total of 4 washi tapes are running vertically on the right side;

CHALLENGE 2 link-up: using some supplies from my March 2019 kit

CHALLENGE/sharing 3 link-up:
and I will post a snapshot of the completed layout to the Facebook closed group, Travelers Notebook Scrapbookers, that focuses not on the covers but the inside layout entries.

CKC blog March 2019 kit supplies used for this layout:
a. all washi tapes
b. all stickers
c. large scale floral cardstock used as a semi-circle
d. the soft pink and white patterned paper behind the photo

all other papers, doilies, stamping are add-ons

We met for the 3rd time in the past 10 months this past week, so that entry should be posted tomorrow. I'm hoping we can meet before June. Susie's got an out-of-state trip coming in either April or May. And we are anticipating lots of upcoming testing and evaluation in Chicago soon for my husband as he is checking into the possibility to be a candidate for heart transplant surgery! (Yes!, dear readers and blog followers! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.) I'd like us to meet more often if "the stars align" for us to do that.

Traveler Notebook started to document time spent with best friend

TN layout #1 from June 14, 2018

This 2-page spread qualifies for BOTH the prompt and the sketch part for the March 2019 challenges at TN Time with Lisa and Lori.

Lisa's link: http://createdbylisa.blogspot.com/2019/03/march-tn-time-with-lisa-lori-challenge.html

a. sketch design tweaks: I'm not thrilled with the embellishment cluster area under the photo but the MME Splendor kit planner stickers of month and day help create a subtitle. I also chose to add more subtitles of "lunch" and "pizza" at the bottom of the right page.
b. (1) dark green washi tape is used under the photo of Susie and I together at Monical's restaurant in Bloomington, IL  and (2) more of it is running vertically on the right side; and (3) some minty/sage green micro thin decorative tape is running horizontally on the bottom right side; and (4) there is a tiny piece of a peachy floral washi tape that has a tiny flower planner sticker on it next to the month & day stickers

More snapshots of this travelers notebook entry

Items from my March 2019 CKC kit: bright pink paper, large floral print cardstock, the pink and white patterned paper, the planner stickers (pale pink rose on the outer left side, month and day stickers under the photo, and the tiny flower sticker on the washi tape ribbon tail), and the washi/decorative tapes

Getting started with photos for the next 2 entries ready=

The MME's Splendor kit planner stickers can be seen in the above snapshot. Below are some papers from my March kit (from CKC blog) and a celery green paper I was considering, but didn't use for the 1st entry featured in this post. The butterfly sticky note pad was used earlier this week for a get well card. So pretty. The green and white thin striped cardstock is the reverse side for the large floral seen on the bottom left page up above.

and I will post a snapshot of the completed layout to the Facebook closed group, Travelers Notebook Scrapbookers, that focuses not on the covers but the inside layout entries.

Crafting plans are to do the next 2 snapshots from when we got together in December and this past week. We live about 3 hours or so apart. Since graduating from high school our paths have gone in different directions and timing of life events have varied or haven't occurred for 1 or both. Through it all we do take time to listen and support each other. The parallels in our lives currently has been increasing caregiving of our widowed mothers. She's #3 of 5 kids and I'm #1 of 3 but it just happens to be that each of us are geographically the closest and the key go-to medical contact person for our moms. It's been very important to spend time together, text, email, and call each other as often as we can.

Travelers Notebooks are a variation of scrapbooking and journaling that were intended to showcase a person's trip(s), but I'm using this new one to feature the special times that my best friend and I get together.
