MTTC Blog Challenge no 444 Clean and Simple Christmas Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! It's been a crazy work week so I'm going to keep the posting streamlined...to keep my heart less stressed here at the weekend! The theme is Clean and Simple Christmas! On the MTTC blog, Shell, the owner has asked that 3/4 of the card should be white and plain. I'll admit I'm a bit of a rebel on this because to me 'white space' as a journalistic term meant empty space, so it doesn't matter if the cardstock/paper is a color or a patterned as long as the majority of your card doesn't have stamping/digi image or embellishments.

Autumn Season Themed Thankful to Survive 2020 Pandemic TN Layout

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart is excited this Monday evening as I write this post to have done some scrapping creativity! It's been about 4 months since I've done any type of scrapbooking I think!!!

Crazy! So far neither my husband or I have had Covid-19...praise the Lord! I've had a root canal and a month ago my hubs had all his teeth extracted!!! So dental appointments and procedures have been affected by delays due to shutdowns but again, thanks be to God, that we are still going!!

Over the past 2 years I've started 4 different Traveler's Notebooks: one about our home(s), one about my BFF and I that is for me, another one that is for her, and TN/bujo that is about my chosen Bible Word of the Year(s). Below is a layout that I've prepped for a Thanksgiving photo that I hope to capture in about a 4-5 weeks:

SAFE and SOUND--

Yes! I'm a Guest Designer for this #408 challenge at Use Your Stuff!!! How exciting! What a honor!

This layout was made using the prompt and sketch for TN Time with Lisa & Lori's October 2020 challenges; #22:

A cropped view of the layout:

The blue is non-traditional but the greens, browns, peach, black, grays, and small touches of yellow, red, and orange are classic autumn colors.

The graph paper/cardstock 'tag' shape on the left page is my nod to "Indian Corn".

The blue cardstock sections were a part of some forgeries made in June that got furthered changed about 2 weeks ago with some leaf, acorn, and woodland creatures. These stamped images plus a couple of random placed "thank you" fulfill Lori's October 2020 prompt to use stamping.

Lisa's sketch got flip-flopped and is waiting for a photo. The layout's ready to go.

MTTC challenge blog #443 Halloween or Cats theme starts 16 October 2020

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! The new fortnight theme has 2 options or they can be combined: Halloween or Cats. Since I'm in my 50s I don't typically do any Halloween cards anymore. My nieces and nephews range in age from 15+ to 30. However I do have several friends who have cats, so my intent with this design team commitment is to create a cat-themed, harvest-time colors friendship card.

#443 My Time To Craft challenge blog design team project: Hello Friend card

Supply and design notes:
a. cardstock neon orange (scanner light has faded to peach) and smoky gray = Neenah
b. "hello" black dazzle = Paper Wishes website
c. kitten clipart freebie printed on the neon orange cardstock and trimmed to about a 4" square
d. black and white checked patterned paper = The Paper Studio; I added color pencils in a repeating pattern for the white sections
e. neon green, orange and 'orchid' stars = old stash
f. orange and white cording = old stash
g. black inking on checked paper and the neon orange cardstock

2nd Design Team Project for CHD challenge blog 15 October 2020

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart gets nervous when I start on a new design team because I tend to second-guess my creative decisions a lot more. Such as with this card #1 for the October monthly challenge starting at Createful Heart Designs: this card had some pre-planning, but I kept overanalyzing and trying so many different options and directions of papers and prints. What should have been a 1 hour project ended up being 2-2.5 hours!!! Ugh. Late night too.

Just for You Country Mailbox from CHD= [this card is not posted on the CHD blog; CARD #2 is]

Quick and Easy Mixed Media Encouragement Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Whenever I can get experimental and messy, my artsy-crafty heart gets excited yet anxious. Last night I messed around with adding little taps of several hues paint around the image and background paper.

Blue, pink (looks lavender), and green are scattered around the striped paper and sheep image. Well the sheep I'm thinking of as 'ewe'/you.

Ewe Are Special encouragement card=

Some supply notes:
a. flat base card with matching envelope = Darice
b. beige/taupe cardstock = Astrobrights/Neenah
c. digital image = clipart image freebie
d. striped paper = see the paper pad photo down below
e. washi tape = Pen + Gear/Wal-Mart

This card is not for a design team commitment however I do want to share it with a couple of Facebook groups and a challenge blog:

a. Mixed Media Creativity group in FB; paint, black ink, stamping, digital image/clipart freebie, washi tape, cardstocks and patterned paper

Harvest Theme with colors red yellow green October 2020 challenge at APTS Blog

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart is on a mixed media autumnal mood and this birthday card is testament to that! The new challenge month for A Place To Start challenge blog starts Monday, October 5th, 2020. The theme is harvest but with a twist. Chana wants to see red, yellow, and green used with your fall harvest items.

My mind thought of apples, leaves and tractors but I went a bit different. I had sunflower doilies and reddish-orange leaf doilies, so I decided to use half of one each due to the 5" x 7" dimensions of the card. The foil butterflies had red-orange, green, and a bit of yellow so I wanted to incorporate those. Then various gems in golden/amber yellow, 2 shades of green, and red. The hedgehog was stamped on a bright neon orange but my printer's scanner light bleached that out to pale peach. The olive green with micro dot patterned paper is an oldie that was part of a card of the month kit from Paper Wishes. The black and kraft checked patterned paper is part of a paper pad I've been trying to bash this year.

Items were arranged into a mesh of angles and layers to give a sense of walking in the woods and finding flora and fauna all jumbled together. Take a look:

Wishing you well Happy Birthday card=

Autumn Season Birthday Card

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart is really getting into the autumn mode now. This is my 3rd card for the weekend! This card is not for a specific design team commitment so that makes for a nice break for me. Part of that break will be that I won't be linking it to oodles of FB groups or challenge blogs, just a few.

Without further ado, this is Autumn Season Birthday Card=

Supply and design process notes:
a. reddish brown ink edging on the papers including base
b. the base is the olive green, a flat layer card with matching envelope from Darice
c. the bronze leaves with light green crystal mesh comes in a grid-like layout on a huge long sheet purchased at Dollar Tree in 2019; instead of having a strip of it on the side or near the bottom for a border I decided to do a 4-corner approach
d. the sentiment stamp is an oldie from Stampin' Up (I think it says 2001)
e. the floral print paper is another oldie that I've been hoarding; I've only got a few small scrap sections left of it. I love the loose abstract style of the flowers and leaves.
f. grass green cardstock strip is from Astrobrights line produced by Neenah
g. card was made in about 30 minutes

MTTC Blog Challenge no 442 Autumnal Colors Theme starts 2 October 2020

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart is giddy because I'm excited on how this slimline card has turned out! Slimline dimension cards are very hot and trending. Traveler's notebooks or TNs would be a scrapbooking equivalent, however it seems to me that the thin profile cards are surging in popularity faster. My Time To Craft challenge blog would like to see autumn/fall season colors on your paper-crafting during this coming fortnight.

My thank you card for Thanksgiving holiday is brimming with autumn hues! The darling woodland stamp set is from Jen Hadfield's "Warm & Cozy" set of 8 clear acrylic stamps. I've used 6 of the 8 to add lots of that walking in the woods kind of fall seasonal mood.

Thank You Card with Woodland Theme card=

MTTC's #442 link= http://mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.com/2020/10/challenge-442-autumnal-colours.html

Supply notes:

a. kraft and black checkered paper is from an old (cheap) paper pad 5" x 7" that I've been trying to bash this year

b. the scroll script bronze dazzle "Thank You" is from Paper Wishes website

c. Jen Hadfield's "Warm & Cozy" clear acrylic stamp set; www.pebblesinc.com; 2019; American Crafts/Utah

d. cardstocks except for the mauve are from Astrobrights line from Neenah

e. the foil butterfly (purchased at Dollar Tree)

f. I decided to adhere the scrap strips (1/2" deep) on the diagonal in order to look a bit like falling leaves.
