July 2019 is coming to a close today however several challenge blogs are Christmas themed for yearlong creating. At the pace I'm going I shouldn't be stressed out by mid-December! Yeah, me! However, I only have 3 Thanksgiving cards made so far and generally I like to send out between 12-15. And then there are August birthdays coming soon: my brother, a brother-in-law, an aunt, and other special folks...

And as promised up above: here are some small pics of other recent Christmas holiday cards made from the Martha Stewart 2018 Christmas paper pad that has 24 sheets 6" square of 12 designs. I've only used 5 (these 3 + 2 today, up above) designs so far=

Got to keep making cards! :)

Lots of different elements from different vendors that have made their way into my crafting supplies (stockpile might be the better term!) have come together to create this charming Christmas card! I like how the iridescent gems repeat the gray/silver hues whereas the green glitter gem dots repeat the green doily accent piece and from the Santa chipboard accent.

Friend Thanksgiving Card 1 for PPCC blog no 440 DT inspiration

There will be 2 blog posts this morning for PPCC #440 using same image just varied in coloring and card elements! I decided to take the girl "Enjoying the Rain" digital image and morph it into a friendship Thanksgiving card.

I like to send Thanksgiving cards to my close immediate family plus aunts and uncles along with a few friends, but only have had 1 made so far for USA's annual November celebrating.

Version 1's layout is clean and simple=

A. & B. the orange cardstock base is a scrap section leftover from partial set added into my 2019 pulled stockpile papers to use back in mid-June; for FB groups: 100 Pattern Papers Challenge group (2019 goal to use at least 100 sheets of designer papers and/or cardstock) and Bash Your Scrapbook Stash group (June's Paper Pad Madness challenge).

Here's a photo of the partial set of mottled cardstock sheets that I started using on June 15th:

A few more scanned photos at different size ratios:

The striped background paper was a gift from an online crafting friend who was part of a junk journaling group I used to belong to. She decided to clean off her desk and send me a box full of her treasures! That was about 1.5 years ago! I've been hoarding all those lovelies she sent me!

The 2 image mounting papers are scraps placed into a Thanksgiving theme tray about 2 weeks ago when I started re-organizing my garage craft zone!

Clean and simple layout with this version! The next one is a mixed media attempt with a non-traditional layout.

Be all-weather dependable friends! I'm so grateful for mine.

Friendship Thanksgiving Card 2 for PPCC no 440 inspiration DT project

Version 2 of an image called "Enjoying the Rain" from Cute As a Button=

This is non-traditional structure with mixed media attempt to do something creatively different than card #1. I decided to morph this into a friendship card for Thanksgiving in November since this makes only the 3rd card thus far I've made for autumn-giving.

In card #1's post at the closure I shared that an online crafting friend from a junk journaling group sent me a box full of her treasures that were cleaned off her desk! Lucky desk! That was 1.5 years ago! I've been hoarding that box of goodies and decided to pull out some items that I thought would work for harvest time:
*mocha textured folded scrap piece on L side
*brown CS backing the sentiment section
*corrugated tag backing the girl with umbrella image
*beige eyelash decorative trim used behind the tag's top

The other printed CS are from an old collection that I don't remember who to credit. The strips of washi tapes are American Crafts' My Mind's Eye, I believe.

Black inking around all the cardstocks except the textured one.

Sentiment was made by me to use this rainy day kind of image for a Thanksgiving friendship card.

*eyelash trim
*textured/embossed mocha paper
*cardstocks, printed and plain
*digital image colored with markers and pencils
*digital/word processing sentiment
*washi tapes

Thank you card no 1 for DT project at PPCC blog 439

Emma in her cool cap is the name of this delightful image from Fred She Said Designs!! FSSD is the prize sponsor for the #439th weekly challenge for Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges!!

Card #1=

PPCC's ID Badge and link for #439https://pennyschallenges.blogspot.com/2019/07/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-439-plus-dt_23.html

FSSD's ID Badge (their link and info details about prize(s) will be found on #439 PPCC blog post)

and editing in the 2nd prize sponsor for #439--SheepSki Designs (details on the PPCC post)

Design notes for the thanks for birthday gifts card:

a. this is a 1 layer card not a traditional folded card base
b. the digi came colored --however I added yellow colored pencil to the hat, shorts, socks and pink ruffled under trim plus the diagonal stripes on her shirt
c. I did step b because there are some challenge blogs that will not accept pre-colored digital images. I think if you see the original, you will notice that I've added enough to make it coordinate with my patterned papers and puffy alpha stickers.
d. the 2 patterned papers are not quite half sheets (originals = 6" square) with the blue cardstock base are from partial pads/sets that I've been trying to 'annihilate' since mid-June!!!!
e. all paper edges have been inked black

Maybe I should have named this Rainbow Brite Emma? She's a super sweet darling little gal that loves color!!!...a girl after my own heart!

Thank You Card no 2 for DT project for PPCC blog 439

This post showcases a 2nd card using Emma in her cool cap image from FSSD for the DT inspiration for PPCC's #439th weekly challenge!

FSSD is short for Fred She Said Designs, the prize sponsor for #439.

Card #2=

*note: PPCC blog challenges are always anything goes that is paper-crafted (hence the name of the blog); so don't try to link-up candles, or crocheted afghans, or smocked baby's christening gown...it needs to be paper product creations like tags, bookmarks, cards, scrapbook layouts, planner layouts, TN layouts, etc.

FSSD's ID badge (their info and prize details can be found on the PPCC's #439 post)

edit: I forgot to include earlier the other prize sponsor's badge of #439 at PPCC blog= SheepSki Designs

Design notes for Card #2:

1. digital image came pre-colored--however--I added blue-purple and raspberry pink to her blouse, socks, shorts, and cap and just the raspberry pink to the pink ruffled trim.
2. I think I've tweaked the image enough to add my own spin to it to not be disqualified from challenge blogs that don't accept pre-colored digis. I even added the squiggly border outline around the image.
3. all background papers have had their edges inked black
4. mulberry patterned paper that's heart-shaped and the banner cut print paper are from partial set of large scrapbook papers that I'm trying to wipe out! and the purple/mulberry cardstock large rectangle scrap is from a partial set of CS trying to be annihilated as well!!!

****

Design note #4's references are to these above 2 photos of some of the partial sets that I added in mid-June to bash (for BYSS group on Facebook) and add for my stack to use in 2019 (for 100 Pattern Paper Challenge group on Facebook).

*Paper, Paper, Paper & Design Team Calls group on Facebook= sharing site for crafting bloggers

Banner stamp and "with love" stamp are from Hampton Art. I don't know who made the no 1 ribbon stamp which I've only showed the medallion part of. The twine's color is repeated in the multi-print paper and the kraft paper base as well as Emma's hair and shoes in the digi. The Emma in her cool cap image is super sweet. I love that there are many repeating colors from the sentiment stamped and stenciled tag I made to the papers and the image. They all combine to make an interesting and darling thank you card!
