Design notes for the thanks for birthday gifts card:

a. this is a 1 layer card not a traditional folded card base
b. the digi came colored --however I added yellow colored pencil to the hat, shorts, socks and pink ruffled under trim plus the diagonal stripes on her shirt
c. I did step b because there are some challenge blogs that will not accept pre-colored digital images. I think if you see the original, you will notice that I've added enough to make it coordinate with my patterned papers and puffy alpha stickers.
d. the 2 patterned papers are not quite half sheets (originals = 6" square) with the blue cardstock base are from partial pads/sets that I've been trying to 'annihilate' since mid-June!!!!
e. all paper edges have been inked black

Design notes for Card #2:

1. digital image came pre-colored--however--I added blue-purple and raspberry pink to her blouse, socks, shorts, and cap and just the raspberry pink to the pink ruffled trim.
2. I think I've tweaked the image enough to add my own spin to it to not be disqualified from challenge blogs that don't accept pre-colored digis. I even added the squiggly border outline around the image.
3. all background papers have had their edges inked black
4. mulberry patterned paper that's heart-shaped and the banner cut print paper are from partial set of large scrapbook papers that I'm trying to wipe out! and the purple/mulberry cardstock large rectangle scrap is from a partial set of CS trying to be annihilated as well!!!

Banner stamp and "with love" stamp are from Hampton Art. I don't know who made the no 1 ribbon stamp which I've only showed the medallion part of. The twine's color is repeated in the multi-print paper and the kraft paper base as well as Emma's hair and shoes in the digi. The Emma in her cool cap image is super sweet. I love that there are many repeating colors from the sentiment stamped and stenciled tag I made to the papers and the image. They all combine to make an interesting and darling thank you card!

HIMCR #360 first Saturday of the month color challenge with Christmas hues

This month at HIMCR we will be having a Christmas in July focus so this 1st Saturday of the month gets us started with Christmas colors! (#360)

When someone says Christmas colors, I think of the traditional red and green. For my 2 cards and pocket page, I used variations of each accented with gold, gray, brown, and/or black.

shopping clue for the micro-thin decorative tapes shown in the photo above: I saw the top applied one that has _____ days left and just had to buy the set at Dollar Tree! Yes!!! I think the set has 7 small thin rolls and I've used three that work well for Christmas colors and a bit of gold glam!

HIMCR #352 super scraps Saturday theme challenge

Oh, what a beautiful day!

Scraps used on the cover are the light pink cardstock tag, the bundled scraps in the bottom left corner, and the two half heart-shaped doilies (white and a light pink underneath) which were leftovers from Valentine's Day.

Due to my husband hiring some muscle powered kids, some of my packed away craft supplies from our move not quite two years ago became readily available to me, so I've got little foam adhesive squares to use to give dimension for the flowers. It meant more coloring and more fussy cutting but so worth the extra time to create a super duper card!

This is a design team inspiration card for HIMCR's #352 challenge for the 2nd Saturday of the month which is always a scraps theme. Find some sketch suggestions or come up with your own brilliant way to use any kind of crafting scraps. And it doesn't have to be a card. The lime green sticker is from the Create 365 Happy Planner product line from Me and My Big Ideas.

I printed the outline distressed images that come like this (full sheet) and used markers for most of the coloring and colored pencils for filling in the flower petals.

The photo above is before I added a stacked small set of scrap papers to the bottom left corner. Even with the scrap doilies and the light pink cardstock tag from scrap, I thought with the challenge theme is needed to find another spot for scraps.

This card took about 3 hours to make! And then transferring photos from cell phone to email and then to computer to be used in Blogger was an additional hour estimated. But after the last 2 week's cards for design team challenges being made quick with minimal resources next to my husband's hospital bed or in the family waiting room, I needed to put more quality work into my HIMCR DT card.

Husband's been home for 10 days and still struggles with being active enough to prevent clots and without over-exerting his limited heart function. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers, please! Becca
