CHD Challenge Blog 15 August 2021 Start Date using Cute Chickadee image from CHD

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!!! My artsy-crafty heart is thrilled to be able to use this digital image that Mary created in 2018. Mary is half of the dynamic couple that own Createful Heart Designs. The CHD challenge blog has "anything goes" theme/non-theme so I've decided to use the image for a birthday greeting card.

2. Use Your Stuff challenge blog; theme is real life; My card's image reason for why I selected it was due to the primary classroom teaching decorating scheme I have of merging the 4 yearly seasons with birds picked. At first I was going to stick just to picking at least 3 birds for each season such as crows, owls, and turkeys for autumn season however now that I got very recently hired for 1st grade, I'm adding in some wildlife creatures for "First Grade Forest Friends". So birds have been on my mind lately. This card I think will be sent to a cousin who is battling breast cancer and has a September birthday. I hope it will cheer her up.

My Time To Craft Christmas style theme of Off The Page starts 13 August 2021

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! This is the 16th fortnight challenge for the sister blog MTTCC to its MTTC! My artsy-crafty heart can't believe how quickly 2021 seems to be progressing. This Christmas card challenge blog started in mid-January and we are ready for our 16th competition period!!! The new challenge theme is what I'm referring to as a style theme. Shell wants us to go "off the page" with how we style or format our Christmas cards.

I've interpreted that 2 ways with my red glitter panel by (1) using lots of foam adhesive squares to lift it off the page or base card and (2) shortened the length of the card just a bit in order for the panel to be off the side of the base. I'm very impressed with the results: style, color, mix of prints, and the wise men visit portrayal.

*My Time To Craft Christmas challenge blog #16

*Starts 13 August 2021 for 13 days

*Christmas/winter cards must show some type of "off the page" aspect; besides my 2 methods there are different fold formats and easel cards that would work when a focal piece or sentiment piece is extended off to a side as well as interactive function accent pieces that have a spring or folded accordion step section to lift and dangle an accent piece from the card base

"Oh Come Let Us Adore Him" said the Wise Men Christmas card=

Design and vendor notes:
a. Echo Park's Away in a Manger collection gets the credit for making this wonderful religious Christmas card come together: the script patterned CS is 1 side of the "Heavenly Hosts" item in the collection along with the wise men sticker and the OCLUAH sticker
b. The script patterned cardstock is printed in navy blue with white print. If you click on the above closeup scanned photo you should be able to see that I changed the little white dots to red ones and the stars went from white to silver metallic!!! Those are little details that make looking at the card in person very impressive regarding color repetition.
c. charcoal gray cardstock is from Astrobrights/Neenah
d. white with red diagonal striped paper was actually a sticker back application
e. almost navy blue with white dot cardstock has been in stash a long time and I forget who the vendor is
f. red glitter foam piece could have been sticker backed applied but I didn't peel that off since I used foam adhesive squares to lift the piece off the surface of the card
g. 3 clear/silvery looking crystal cut gems for accent...I absolutely LOVE this card!!! The mix of colors, prints, layers and then the coordinates from Echo Park just combined into an amazing Christmas card!!!

Quick and Easy Birthday Card for my brother

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! This post will be shorter than most! :) It's been a long time since I've made a card not required as a design team commitment. Those types of postings I always include the blog badges, link, and lots of details about the new challenge of participation/competition. As the blog title states that this is for my brother, orange is his favorite color, so it was chosen for the base.

He rarely travels for leisure because he drives a semi for his living! But I couldn't resist using this oval label piece as a focal and add in some summery tropical flair with the sassy pineapple!

Quick and easy with the various stickers: chevron striped type labels, the die-cut layered pineapple, and the different types of lettering.

Happy Birthday little brother!

A few design and vendor notes:

1. flat orange card base and matching envelope are from Darice

2. gold honey cardstock scrap piece is from Astrobrights/Neenah

3. the letter tile stickers for "to you" are from Freckled Fawn

4. small square foam adhesives are used to lift up the focal piece

MTTC challenge no 463 sketch layout usage starts 6 August 2021

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart is thrilled to be using OLD stash items for this sketch-based layout card! My Time To Craft challenge blog has a sketch design to use for your card-making for #463. I've rotated the design to the left 90 degrees in order to make it a vertical layout. I didn't extend the one section to the full height of the card but this is an extra long card using a full sheet of cardstock folded (fold on left; opening on right). That CS base is the soft green. Because of the sentiment of "Happy Day" I feel I can either use it as an encouragement card or as a birthday one. [rut ro! It's going to be the birthday card I send to my auntie for her #74 next week!!]

*MTTC challenge blog design team commitment project

*Required sketch design usage as the 'theme'; image will be shown below

*#463

*Starts 6 August 2021 and lasts for 13 days

Happy Day card=

LINK to #463 for MTTC= http://mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.com/2021/08/challenge-463-sketchy-time.html

Required sketch design for your project layout; I've rotated the sketch to the left and then lengthened the size of the card. I also tweaked a few things in my interpretation like the shown darker purple area doesn't go the full length on my card, the shapes aren't circles, and the sentiment/accent tab section is shortened and shaped like a journal or divider tab.

 *****************************************

A few design notes:

1. the acrylic floral image 'stickers' are from Hallmark; these are part of a sheet that could be as old as 10 years sold by Hallmark

2. the green patterned paper is a scrap section off a very old stash item; so glad to make a small dent in this older stuff

3. the cardstocks are from Pen+ Gear; light green, soft ivory, and soft yellow; the purple paper is to back the card only for blocking out my printer's scanner light

4. the sketch design doesn't show corner accents but I felt that with oversizing the proportion that the right side of the card needed something to help balance it. This still could be considered a CAS (clean and simple) style card because there is so much blank space.

Besides MTTC challenge blog posting as a design team member, my posting and/or card photo will be shared at these challenge blogs and Facebook groups=

APTS Challenge Blog August 2021 Theme is What is Your Style

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Oh, my artsy-crafty heart got slightly overwhelmed for a short bit when I looked to see in our design team group blog what the August theme or option twist was going to be. Chana stated the theme as What's Your Style? (or genre). Some of the early birds in the DT squad have done CAS or Christmas or mixed media. So I started thinking mixed media too but then I also like to interpret sketch layouts and to mix patterns/prints. My August 2021 design team inspiration project will be a mix-up of printed patterns and some mixed media for a birthday card

*A Place To Start (APTS) challenge blog

*#8 for 2021; month of August; starts on the first Monday of the month which is 8/2/2021

*Theme is "What's Your Style?"; please state it in your blog to help us comment directly about this aspect of your participation project

Spring Market Birthday card=
