why: Earlier this year I decided that a way to revive my creativity would be to join another owner's color pink challenge blog design team. I was only able to be part of that team for 5 months. With efforts to spread attention through Instagram, FB groups, linking my personal projects to many challenge blogs, we should get some good submission numbers early on. So fingers crossed that this works out!

what: Pink Ghosts: "We Are Not Spooky!" card

how:

1. images were drawn by me!!! YES!!! On the night of October 15 to early October 16, I did pencil sketching first then used black marker. The guy ghost was made slightly bigger and given 2 little scars! The girl ghost was made smaller along with smaller features except for her eyelashes! She was also given blushing pink cheeks and some more pink highlighting at her lower edge. 

2. alphabet stencil ruler = very old find in the past 2-3 years at my mom's house and now part of my stash

3. white cardstock scraps = Georgia Pacific for the sentiment

4. bright pink/magenta marker for lettering and exclamation

5. pink colored pencil = Marvy Uchida for the outlining of the sentiment pieces and the girl ghost's highlights

6. bright pink thread = wrapped and tied on the side = Coat's/Clark cotton thread

7. base is glossy white cardstock = RECYCLED PACKAGING

8. black fine tip marker = Sharpie

9. mechanical pencil = stash (tracing/stenciling sentiment words and exclamation point; plus drawing the two ghosts)

who: I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old blogger who has been part of the crafting challenge blogworld since 2010!! I didn't own a computer until 2000 and then it was my sister's/b-i-l's old one, thank heavens that they helped out. I was getting my master's coursework restarted. And thank heavens my tuition fees included computer lab access with tutors/supervisors on hand! Before I got my sister's, I would try to spend a half hour or so before my evening classes and then try to go for a couple of hours on a Saturday in order to get typed/word processed what needed to be completed for deadlines. Those tutors were vexed by my endless questions and fear that I would blow something up!!!-- Bless their hearts for being patient with the 38+ year old who never had computers in high school or undergraduate college years!!

where: This post showcases my new design team projects for my Heart's Quest Pretty in Pink challenges blog. The #2 blog post link will be shared later in the post. 

when: #2 starts on October 15, 2026 and ends on November 12th. 

why: #2 and all challenges have to be 'mainly pink'. I decided in early to mid- March 2026 to get involved with a color-focused challenge blog. I wanted the creative mental decision-making for something different than my own challenge blogs. That color-focused blog closed without warning in mid-August 2026. I decided to start HQPIPCB with same main theme in mid-September. I'm adding an optional theme that will most times be a certain supply pattern that has pink in it. See project #2 for the optional theme.

why: HQPIPC was started as a result of another blogger closing her 'AG mainly pink' abruptly. I thought that was a tragedy and am hopeful that interest in this specialty niche challenge blog can be revived. who: I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old artsy-craftsy blogger who owns 14 crafting challenge blogs that are from brand new to about 5 years old! About 60-70% of my challenges are now going for 6.5-7 weeks long with a week or more break between sessions with staggered dates: 27, 28, 2, 3, 5 & 7. My new one and another one (Ally's Angels) are offset for almost a month starting on the 15th of each month. There's another (Critter Crazy) that starts on the 1st that only goes for 3.5 weeks out of 4. Having the different time lengths gives me a chance to get my administrative duties completed, do participants' commenting and some personal down time to do day trips or occasional overnight excursions with my retired hubby.
