who: Hello! I'm Becca S; a 60+ year old living with my 70+ year old husband and our 15-16 year old doggy, Mister Bennett, in north central Illinois. We met while both being in the St. Louis/St. Charles counties/metro areas of Missouri; being introduced by his oldest sister about 3 months after he was widowed. Dated, engaged and wedded within 7 months + 1 week!!!!!!!

why: I did about 13-14 months of a Piet Mondrian influenced geometric design pages on Mondays and then I filled the notebook. About 5 weeks ago I started a less page notebook (30 sheets; probably will have 14 or 15 mixed media pages) to be my experiments with mixed media. 

what: Cocoa Cups for Two mixed media page (MMMMJP #3)

how: 

1. colored pencils: 2 tones of peach, 1 yellow, 1 orange, 1 pink, 1 red = stash box/some are by Marvy Uchida + 2 shades of brown for a wood table sketch + 1 black for the space under and next to the wood table

2. stamp pad ink: Lawn Fawn's Fish Tank (blue) mini stamp pad

3. clear stamp: "Happy Day" is part of Bo Bunny's Willow and Sage stamp set

4. texture rubbing: I placed a small sheet of pearl gems under the paper and did a texture rubbing then the stamping was placed over it

5. markers: yellow for the sun, brown for cocoa steam from Jot

6. gold glitter paint: used for moisture/steam look for above the cups = Folk Art/Plaid

7. stickers = cocoa 'whipped cream' dollops (not as poop!); puffy mixed icon shape stickers package by American Greetings, LLC.  

8. stickers = puffy "Pop Tarts", muffin and cookie stickers = a food theme pack of little puffy shapes = American Greetings, LLC. 

9. stickers = chalkboard style cup stickers (pack comes with handles-- half with handles on the left and half with handles on the right) = Crafter's Square

10. stencil = repeating suns- filled sheet = Simple Stories

11. black gel pen = used to give some distinction for the sun and sun rays = Paper Mate's Ink Joy gel pen 4-color set

why: For about 14-15 months I did a "My Mondrian Mondays" Journal Page and now this is #2 for My Mixed Media Mondays Journal Page. 

what: Filled Tea cup Focal Journal Page

how:

1. colored pencils = gray and blue = Marvy Uchida/stash box

2. highlighter marker in blue = Bic

3. washable marker in blue = Jot

4. alcohol marker in blue = Arteza (used for the circle/dots)

5. crayon in brown = Crayola

6. ink in Fish Tank/blue = Lawn Fawn

7. ink in Narwhal/gray = Lawn Fawn

8. enamel heart = Hello Hobby/Walmart

9. chalkboard tea cup sticker = Crafter's Square (set of 18!!!!)

10. leafy stems and flower blossom stamps = same set by Crafter's Square

11. 'cute' stamp = Never Grow Up stamp set by Shimelle

12. cream scrap paper and light gray scrap paper = from a scrap paper pack = Crafter's Square

13. 'thinking of you' stamp = from Willow and Sage stamp set by Bo Bunny

14. "Cracked" stencil = Pink and Main (using the brown crayon)

15. small round shape = one of several shapes on a stencil ruler; Not sure of the manufacturer; found at my mom's house; I remembering using these maybe in junior high or high school...so could be 50 years old +/-!!!!

why: last Monday, May 11th was my last entry in My Mondrian Mondays Journal notebook that used famous Dutch artist Piet Mondrian's color blocking and black grid divider line compositions for my influence. This new sketchbook will be packed with mixed media experimentations. And it was just random ideas to start with the swirls and then go to a large floral shape using the gel-wax like highlighter....I did stick with a pink monochrome with gold metallic; there was supposed to be some silver glitter in a white acrylic paint but it not showing....

what: A Storm of Pink; art journal page #1

Pic 1 =

Pic 2 = flower on the left was made with pink gel type highlighter with red-purple glitter glue stamens; then a gold glitter acrylic paint flower shape; then a bright pink glitter glue flower shape w/ red-purple glitter glue stamens

Pic 3 = gold glitter acrylic paint streaks and also silver glitter acrylic (looking white ) paint streaks ; in the background, three pink tone colored pencils were held together and drawn in circular swirls across the page for the first/foundational layer

how:

1. sketchbook of 30 medium weight sheets = Tree House Pad & Paper, Inc.  

2. three pink tone colored pencils used for circular swirls = stash box

3. reddish-purple/magenta glitter glue = I Magine

4. bright lighter pink glitter glue = I Magine

5. pink gel highlighter (1 of 3 colors set) = I believe it was by Creative Devotion (pink, silver, gold)

6. gold glitter paint = Plaid's Folk Art Extreme Glitter Gold acrylic paint

7. silver glitter paint = Crafter's Closet Art Basics Acrylic Silver Glitter Paint (not showing as silver glitter but more white on the white paper)...hmm...

8. the glues and paints did cause the paper to dry a bit warped and that's affected the scanning; causing gray shadow 'rays' or streaks...sigh.....
