who: Hello! I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old artsy-craftsy blogger who lives in the Midwest USA. And in the Midwest, I live in central Illinois within the Illinois River Valley area. 

where: This is an owner/DT committed inspiration project for ConBC or Christmas or not Bingo Challenges. 

when: #22 starts November 1, 2026 and goes for six weeks ending on December 15, 2026. 

why: I like the problem-solving aspects of selecting a vertical column on the bingo board and creating a project using at least 3 of the 5 listed elements. It has been 2+ years that I've been at the helm of ConBC. 

what: Project #1 = Column O = Grateful mini slimline card using all 5 elements

how: details listed by the elements found in Column O of the #21 ConBC bingo board=

1. CAS = Clean and Simple style = kraft margin plus white areas above and below the pinecone die-cut ephemera

2. no stamping = (I did stenciling instead.)

3. free space = using the punched navy cardstock piece + stenciling + color palette wasn't designated

4. sticker/s = wedgewood blue wavy edges border sticker

5. die-cut ephemera = 3 pieces: star anise, patterned heart + pinecone w/ star anise doily

My CCMWF group Scripture Encouragement Card Swap October 2026

who: Hello, I'm Becca S, an artsy-craftsy blogger! I don't refer to my faith in God on every blog post but it is an integral part of me since my salvation about 1 month before my 11th birthday! My dad was pastoring in a small village along the Wabash River between Terre Haute and Clinton, Indiana that was known as Shepherdsville Bible Church. The original church building on that property was a Methodist church that closed when someone missed the T-intersection on a late Saturday night/early Sunday morning and plowed into it. The small congregation decided that financially they'd close and sell the property. My dad and the small group of church deacons had it bulldozed and then built a new structure in 2 phases: SS rooms, nursery, restrooms and an open fellowship (early meeting area) was built first and then the sanctuary auditorium was built second. I was saved during a revival meeting during the church's maybe 7th year. The evangelist, Billy Kellogg, had been preaching several nights and cognitively I realized on Thursday night that I was a sinner and I needed to repent, ask God for forgiveness and accept Jesus as my Savior. 

where: CCMWF is a closed group on FB. Christian Card Makers Women's Fellowship. We share religious/Scriptural cards/text that we do along with Scripture verse monthly journaling and then have an optional monthly Scripture included encouragement card swap event. 

when: October 2026; [My swap partner received/posted my card on Oct 24th and I received hers on Oct 27th and posted on 28th. So publishing the post on Oct. 29th.]

why: This blog post is being written and published to show the card that I created for my group swap match. I can't share the card online until after she posts it to the group that she's received it. I'm mailing the card to her on October 15th.

how:

Scripture verse label = Google Doc + KJV Bible online to copy verse text ==> print on white cardstock and fussy cut this verse; I did 4 different verses with 3-4 copies of each to fit a 1 page document. Different fonts and font sized were changed between verses and sometimes with a verse's copies. 

5. outer perimeter of the green print paper was fussy cut with zig-zag scissors = Wescott

6. brown dual-tip marker = Jot to outline just the tag and verse to have focal attention

7. amber/gold tone rhinestone gems = Nicole Brand Crafts; self-adhesive

why: Earlier this year I decided that a way to revive my creativity would be to join another owner's color pink challenge blog design team. I was only able to be part of that team for 5 months. With efforts to spread attention through Instagram, FB groups, linking my personal projects to many challenge blogs, we should get some good submission numbers early on. So fingers crossed that this works out!

what: Pink Ghosts: "We Are Not Spooky!" card

how:

1. images were drawn by me!!! YES!!! On the night of October 15 to early October 16, I did pencil sketching first then used black marker. The guy ghost was made slightly bigger and given 2 little scars! The girl ghost was made smaller along with smaller features except for her eyelashes! She was also given blushing pink cheeks and some more pink highlighting at her lower edge. 

2. alphabet stencil ruler = very old find in the past 2-3 years at my mom's house and now part of my stash

3. white cardstock scraps = Georgia Pacific for the sentiment

4. bright pink/magenta marker for lettering and exclamation

5. pink colored pencil = Marvy Uchida for the outlining of the sentiment pieces and the girl ghost's highlights

6. bright pink thread = wrapped and tied on the side = Coat's/Clark cotton thread

7. base is glossy white cardstock = RECYCLED PACKAGING

8. black fine tip marker = Sharpie

9. mechanical pencil = stash (tracing/stenciling sentiment words and exclamation point; plus drawing the two ghosts)

My Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenges #55 design team projects

I know God has given us amazing mental abilities for creativity, logic, discernment between reality and fantasy. Someone recently commented that 'soft' fantasy refers to the make believe that is charming, whimsical yet some can be fierce protectors like guardian angels and dragons. So HQFCB wants to see your angels, fairies, gnomes, mermaids, dragons, unicorns, etc.

On August 12th, I drove almost 2 hours in the rain (and then return trip) to meet 2 childhood friends for lunch at a super cool bar/grill restaurant in Champaign, IL. My Paper Rocks Scissors #19 DT project on 2 August 2026

who: Hello, from north central Illinois in the USA heartland! The "Midwest". I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old craft artisan and blogger that is a design team member for Deanne's Paper Rocks Scissors challenges blog.

why: The theme of PRS is always 'anything paper and/or scissors' goes. I always try to use both each time I create a design team project. I tend to go 'old school' methods anyway. I've got paper cutters and punches even die-cut/embossing plates machines but only use 2 shape punches a couple of times each month!

who: Hello, I'm Becca S, the owner of this personal blog plus 13 crafting challenge blogs!! Most of the challenges are open to all paper, all digital or hybrid formats. why: I asked to join the CIP design team because I had been wanting to do a color-specific challenge blog. I joined in March 2026. So far I'm using what I have in my stash trying to avoid buying new pink things. The CIP theme is anything goes mostly in pinks.

who: I'm Becca S, a Flag Day baby and her parents' firstborn! I'm a leftie but not a true leftie because I don't hook my hand around to write. For softball, I bat right-handed but catch left-handed. I started developing my arts and crafts skills at age 9 but my fine arts/music skills began at age 6 with piano lessons. And I've been blogging about my craftsy-artsy mish-mesh style of creations since about 2010!

why: I'm the owner of Ally's Angels for the past 2 years or so and was co-owner for about a year or so prior. who: Hi, I'm Becca S. My crafting style tends to be a mish-mesh of old and newer products as well as a blend of artsy-craftsy style. I like to recycle packaging, business envelopes' security lining as patterned paper and save ribbons from gifts to reuse. 

where: this is a non-design team related commitment; instead it is a personal creative series that I've been doing on Mondays for the past 13 months. 

when: Monday April 20, 2026; blog writing and link-ups completed early on April 21st

why: I've been noticing that after the craziness and weariness of Christmas & New Year holidays with wacky north central Illinois weather, my mind and soul need a spring refresh earlier than the actual first day of spring. I wanted an alliteration with Mondays and thought I'd adopt my muse from famous artist Piet Mondrian. Most school kids grow up only thinking Mondrian did his grid primary color block paintings however he did do other palettes and compositions, even some landscapes. Last week, I shared a few cropped pics of his paintings from a website devoted to him. I also shared some of my favorites from my interpretations/twists. 

what: Release the Arrows geometric design for MMMJP #36 (think of cell phone game apps such as moving buses or arrows)

how:

1. muse= Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian who lived from 1872-1944. 

2. journaling notebook with elastic closure; 80 sheets of peach grid/graph lines = bought at Dollar General store; I've got enough sheets left for 2 more entries. I skip a page in between entries. I won't finish with 40 geometric designs but with 38. 

3. mechanical pencil to do initial sketching; also ruler for perimeter = stash

4. colored pencils = Marvy Uchida (4 tones of green used 2 or 3 times each; 3 honey/caramel brown areas; 3 light gray areas; and the rest are varying layered tones to try to get coral/salmon/guava (for the Color Hues Challenge); on the opposite page, I did 13 different test samples sometimes with 2-4 tones: two peach/beige, orange, red-orange, rust orange, light pink and a medium pink

5. neutral toned non-smudge retractable markers (gray, brown, black) = Zebra Clickart

6. block shape inspiration= cell phone game apps like having to move buses towards an exit or arrows to the outer perimeter; I didn't want to use arrowheads/points so I used irregular/bent shapes or straight ones with blank space between each one

My Ally's Angels #105 design team card with anything goes theme for 15 April 2026

why: This posting continues my long-term design team and owner commitment with Ally's Angels, a crafting challenge blog. The theme has always been 'anything goes'. I've been sole owner for over a year and was (silent) co-owner for a couple of years prior. Lots of crafters love to participate because it's the easiest type of theme. For a couple of years now the majority of my cards' focals involve stamping and/or inking. Occasionally I might do stenciling or pull elements from a collection to make an easy put-together card. This time I've used four clear stamps from the same set and have done a bit of colored pencil fill-in or outlining while the 2nd card is using a mix of recycled with more recent purchases like the ribbon, rhinestone hearts, and ephemera.
