Scrapbook Layout #4 for 2026 featuring Myself

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hey there! I'm Becca S from north central Illinois! I've lived in 5 states (IL, IN, TN, TX & MO)!!! I've had the awesome travel opportunities to visit a small part of Canada around the north side of several great lakes and a year or so later to spend 10 days of Christmas school break in Haiti. Both of those were during my teen years! My USA travels from childhood to now have covered 20 additional states to those that I've lived in! (OH, MI, PA, NY, MD, VA, WV, KY, NC, GA, FL, AL, AR, AZ, CO, KS, NE, IA, MN, WI) --lots of road trips!!

where: this is not for a specific design team and/or owner of challenge blog commitment

when: layout and blog post started on Wed night April 15; finishing touches on Thurs Apr 16; photo was taken on March 18, 2026

why: As much card/tag/bookmark-making that I'm doing, I find the mental and creative need to do different 'things' and/or return back to formats that I've neglected for many months. Last month, I made a decision to create a small binder to hold 2026 family and friend moments preserved on layout pages.

My Ally's Angels #105 design team card with anything goes theme for 15 April 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This posting continues my long-term design team and owner commitment with Ally's Angels, a crafting challenge blog. The theme has always been 'anything goes'. I've been sole owner for over a year and was (silent) co-owner for a couple of years prior. Lots of crafters love to participate because it's the easiest type of theme. For a couple of years now the majority of my cards' focals involve stamping and/or inking. Occasionally I might do stenciling or pull elements from a collection to make an easy put-together card. This time I've used four clear stamps from the same set and have done a bit of colored pencil fill-in or outlining while the 2nd card is using a mix of recycled with more recent purchases like the ribbon, rhinestone hearts, and ephemera.

when: AA #105 starts April 15, 2026 and lasts until May 12, 2026.

My April 2026 Stash Bash Kit for layouts and cards

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity, a personal crafting blog!

who: I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old craftsy-artsy former teacher who fell in love with paper crafting and blogging/message boards back in 2009-2010. About 15-20 years before that, I started sketching my own holiday images to give to some family and friends. Through the years, while teaching, I would try to mail or personally hand  each student at least 1 postcard during the semester or year. At one school district, there were 6 new to the JH & HS starting at the same time. So for the four years I was there, I would place holiday cards or cheer-up mid-quarter or quarter postcards in their mailboxes to build rapport and team/community.

where: this is a non-design team related commitment

when: my kit and first card were pulled together on Friday April 10 and the kit-focused post will be released on Saturday, April 11th. nope: Sunday April 12 @ approx 12:10 am

why: It's getting close to mid-month and I hadn't put a kit together. A kit helps for quicker making of layouts and cards; that is after the initial planning and pulling of items from different stash boxes. I'm hoping to do two- 1 page notebook size scrapbook layouts and maybe a few cards using this kit between April 10-30th.

what: My Stash Bash Kit for April 2026; lots of light-mid-tone blues, lavenders, pinks, greens

*large/full sheets of cardstocks

**the mid-gray with white dot is showing at the bottom edge

2. mini kit for red/gold/green pic how I had pre-planned...again, as I started playing with layout, colors, prints, the taupe color of the cut-apart card gave me some difficulty....if I have time I might make another red/gold/green card with non-kit supply items....

**I wanted an elegant look for this card and the pre-planned selection was revised. I only used the light gold sheen card base and the cut-apart dove panel from this kit photo.

3. This mini-kit pic was for another pre-planned Christmas card =

**The plaid strip comes from what was leftover from making this card.

MTTC #499 Theme is Snowman DT inspiration card for 13 January 2023

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart's so happy to use some of my January TGSB kit and an older patterned paper from The Paper Studio. It was given to me for Christmas from my sister probably 4 years ago. The showcased card on today's post is for the #499 Theme of Snowman/Snowmen for My Time To Craft challenge blog!

MTTC's #499 runs from January 13-26, 2023. Bragging rights are possible. Each participant can enter up to 3 new themed projects. And these do NOT have to be Christmas cards. They can be Winter Season Wishes, snowy Valentine themed cards, January birthday cards, or maybe February birthday cards depending on where you live. Where I live, we still get snow in March and even sometimes into April--even ice! Be creative!

Merry Snowmen Surrounded by Gray Skies Christmas card=

[theme #499 elements= the snowmen print paper from The Paper Studio and a blue glitter foam snowman sticker]

Some more design and vendor notes are:
1. pinecone cardstock scrap = Fancy Pants Designs
2. gray and white buffalo plaid cardstock scrap + the light blue left-folded 5"x7" card base= The Paper Studio
3. the mid-gray with white dots cardstock panel = My Mind's Eye
4. silver and gold foil dazzles/stickers; also the word "merry"; "Christmas" is on the inside = Paper Wishes website
5. thick foam tape was adhered under the snowmen's panel to give it some definition against the grays and light blues
**Items #1-4 were part of my January Great Stash Bash Kit! See Lisa and Lori's links for details.

2022 May 20 MTTC #482 Theme is Thank You

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! A terrific occasion greeting card to have available is a thank you appreciation card. That's the theme for My Time To Craft challenge blog competition #482. For my design team commitment for MTTC I have created 2 cards. Both have most of their supplies coming from the TGSB April 2022 kit that I put together Easter weekend. My planning and prep intentions were to have enough supplies to make several cards and a possible TN spread for commitments ranging in a 4-6 week span. Already this weekend I've made 5 cards!!!

The planning and prep time for the kit took longer of course than what it typically does for 1 or 2 cards but once it got made, I've been able to get cards made quickly. Yea! Win-win!!

MTTC's #482 starts May 20, 2022 and ends on June 2, 2022. Times for both dates are the same so figure accordingly to wherever you are in the world (6am UK or 12am Central Time USA/Chicago).

Thank You floral with gingham card:

Design and vendor notes worth mentioning are:

A. Embellishments and pink cardstock for the sentiment strip were not in the TGSB April 2022 kit. The stamper for "thank you", floral paper scrap, the blue gingham paper was cut to fit, the ribbon, and the flat base blue cardstock were.

B. Blue gingham paper (Hot Off The Press/Paper Wishes website)

C. Papers were edged using a blue ink pad

Green and blue geometric thank you card:

Design notes for card #2:

All items for this card were from my kit made Easter weekend for TGSB April 2022 except for the green cardstock scrap, the little planner strip sticker with the heart (the heart was white so I filled with dark blue marker and then topped with a lighter blue glitter paint pen), and the navy blue glitter decorative tape. I like the analogous color scheme of this card.

Both cards are slimline style: 4" x 7" and each use the sentiment 'thank you' but with different stamps. Fairly simple and easy to put together with not a whole lot of fuss. I wanted the patterned papers/cardstocks to not get covered up. Now to get ready for the mail....

The Great Stash Bash Kit for May 2022

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I'm getting a bit behind to gathering what I want to get accomplished with my kit that I've put together based on Lisa's and Lori's challenge The Great Stash Bash. The number of projects I want to get accomplished with this kit is huge like the gathered supplies. And I don't have everything selected either! But this gathering I've done over the past 2 days will speed up the process for each card I make.

I've got at least 12 cards I want to do for DT commitments trying to work ahead with themes that I know are in the works. I'd also like to start a TN (new; came in a clearance spring pack bought through Peachy Cheap website) that is about me. I don't have children but I'm hoping it will be something that 1 of my 4 nieces or 2 nephews will want to have in the future.

I'm also wanting to do a family birthday yearly calendar that I can do like a scrapbook layout and have it displayed near my computer. Something pretty to be keep me on track! :) We just heard a few days ago that my oldest niece/goddaughter is expecting baby #2 so there's another important reason to make sure I don't miss any special birthdates.

And another wish list project is a monthly planner. I found a customizable/blank monthly calendar planner that I'd like to do as a hands-on with my DT commitments.

The kit is so large I have to show it in 3 photos and even then several papers got buried!

The bright summery citrus-hued flower embellishments are new and part of the spring clearance pack!!! It was a very good deal with all that I got and only 1/3 of it or less is showing up in this May kit! There are some details mentioned after the next photo that apply to this above photo so keep reading.

Two new card kits from Simple Stories also arrived this week that were another clearance purchase from Peachy Cheap and elements from several of their suggestions will be mixed with some other products that are shown in the kit or will be pulled from my stash. A full sheet (4.5x6.5" sheet of a pink with green floral) and 2 scraps of pink with white Xs from The Mint Berry paper pad that I've picked to bash this year are included in this above photo. Two 6" square sheets (purple gingham and gray gingham) are from Hot Off The Press (Paper Wishes). The blue gingham, lake symbols, and a teal plaid in the top photo are new from a Lake Life paper pad that came in that spring clearance pack purchase!!! I'm needing to do some travel/vacation/tropical kinds, some whimsical, some fruits/baking/gardening, and a few other topics that will stay secret!

In the above photo, there are 19 cardstock scraps of different sizes in mostly solid colors and a few that have a little marbling to them. The solid color full sheets are underneath the scraps and I think there are 8 sheets. Washi and decorative tapes are to the upper left in a variety of blues and lavenders. There are some new blue-hued jewels and some purple glitter butterfly die-cuts that are both new that came in the clearance spring pack from Peachy Cheap. Woot!!!

And guess what I forgot to gather??!! The enamel dots!!! I have a few but not many. I've got some pearl kind of glossy 'gems' that I'll probably use in navy blue, pale pink, and bright pink.

There are at least 9 patterned papers/cardstocks of different sizes and a few of the larger sheets aren't full size. I've got more than 3-4 embellishments picked. There are lots of die-cuts/ephemera that have been pulled along with those shown washi/decorative tapes, blue jewels and 2 butterfly die-cuts.

Time for bed to get rest so that I can start to create with all this!!!

Please visit Lisa H and Lori S to see what they've put together for their kits:

AND

They each have their own kits and do an excellent job explaining the how and why to their selecting processes. Definitely worth reading both of their postings!

Stay tuned in a future days and weeks to see how the majority of this gets used!!! YEA!!!
