My Ally's Angels #108 DT project is patriotic on 15 July 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello! I'm Becca S, an craft artisan blogger, who caught the paper-crafting blog bug back in 2010. I started gradually as a participant and then within a few months I became a design team member. Then I started getting involved with 3-5 teams for many years. When COVID hit, many blog owners were stepping down and I took over the management for 2 teams which gave me the confidence to start my own. Ally's Angels was a path of DT to co-owner/DT and then owner/DT. It's easy to participate at Ally's Angels due to the theme of 'anything goes'. You can submit any occasion, use any colors or topics or manufacturers' products or tools.

where: Ally's Angels, is a challenge blog, I own. The blog link and theme/date badge will be shared at the bottom of the post.

when: #108 starts July 15 and ends August 12, 2026.

why: As mentioned earlier, I own AA and the theme is anything goes. This time I decided to do a layout that I refer to as fractured tiles. It's a X-pattern with opposite pieces matching with 2 printed papers.

what: USA patriotic card

how:

1. white small folded card base w/ envelope = from a pack of 6 = Crafter's Square

2. alternating red and blue partial dots made with stencil ruler = very old 40-50 year old plastic shapes stencil ruler (part of a set of different options) found at my mom's house

3. gold foil foam stickers = Dear Lizzy by American Crafts (USA and stars/astericks)

4. small stars print paper & large blue with white stars print paper = All Seasons paper pad by Hello Hobby/Walmart

5. (not showing) thin white cardstock under the triangle cut paper pieces = Jot

6. blue and red gel pens = Paper Mate's Ink Joy gel pen 4-color set

7. blue dual-tip marker = Art Skills (edging of card base)

8. inside: a small light blue punched circle cardstock stamped 'thinking of you'

My Paper Rocks Scissors Challenges #18 DT project

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello! I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old left hander who is using her right brain!!! Those are 2 key factors for my enjoyment of the arts--fine arts, drama, crafty arts and practical arts. High school freshman year I was a French Can Can girl for this melodrama production. Then sophomore year I was Gertie Cummins in "Oklahoma"!!! Junior year I was stage manager for "Annie Get Your Gun"!! The best part was throwing a taxidermed pigeon into the air for "Annie" to shoot!!! (pretend) Senior year was different. The choir teacher had us learn a 'music across America' kind of presentation. I only sang in a few presentations at the school. They did a short tour by going to the choir teacher's high school in a different part of the state and also did a couple of neighboring schools as assemblies. Those dates conflicted with a state capitol visit for a state FHA team I was on. (Future Homemakers of America)

where: PRS or Paper Rocks Scissors Challenges, is a crafting challenge blog, owned and administered by Deanne. The blog link and badge will be shared at the bottom of the post.

when: #18 starts on July 2, 2026 and lasts until July 31.

why: PRS owned by Deanne was started almost 1.5 years ago and I've been part of the design team since the beginning. Since the theme is easy, I figured it would be easy to create inspiration projects! :) Every month it is always 'anything paper and/or scissors goes'.

what: Thinking of You card

how:

1. paper = 2 floral print papers are reverse sides of each other= Apothecary paper pad by Fancy Pants Designs; scissors used

2. cardstock = heavy white cardstock is folded on left; dimensions are 4" wide x 7" long = Tonic Studios premium cardstock pack; scissors used

3. cardstock = (hidden) 4" x 6" white index card = Jot

4. scissors = washi tape strips = old Pen + Gear

5. scissors = cording = NEW purchase = pale pink and pale beige/sand; each alternating strands with white = there is also a pale blue spool that was part of the 3 in a pack = Crafter's Square

6. other: lime green puffy heart stickers = Hello Hobby/Walmart

7. other: green bow is a wall decal style cling/sticker = part of multicolor bow sheet = Wall Home division of York Wallcoverings = NEW purchase; first bow to use!!!

8. other: pink carnation sticker = Everly Farm sticker book by Fancy Pants Designs

9. other: gold foil leafy stems are wall decal style cling/stickers = part of doves and leafy stem set = Wall Home division of York Wallcoverings = another NEW purchase; first, second, third and fourth items from the sheet to use!!!

10. green dual-tip marker = Art Skills

LINK-UPs:

1A. NBUS or Never Before Used Schtuff; new on July 1; theme is the blog title; My project has several new to me recent purchases!!! (I love mixing old stash products with new to me items!!!)

link = https://mynbus.blogspot.com/2026/07/nbus-challenge-88-mutual-appreciation.html

1B. Love To Craft; new on July 1 and open until Aug 15; theme is anything goes; My project used ruler, pencil, scissors, papers/cardstock, stickers, washi tape, cording, ink and unseen dual-sided adhesive tape to create a lovely floral card. Inside it states: thinking of you

link = https://lovetocraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2026/07/ltccb-93-and-ltccb-92-winner-and-top.html

1C. The Four Seasons Challenge; new on July 1; theme is July/summer season (mood board had flowers, bees, lemons or do A.G. summer); My lovely floral card has a magnolia bloom seen at the top center with lots of pale pink carnations and bright pink flowers that might be anemones; for me these are flowers that you'll see in the middle of summer season [the center pale pink peony almost looks like a carnation, however, in my area, peonies are usually done by the first week of June]

link = https://thefourseasonschallenge.blogspot.com/2026/07/summer-season-july-2026.html

1D. The Crafting Challenge; new on July 1; theme of flowers; My card is full of lovely flowers (using 2 different print papers; look for a thin green X; one designer paper is used for left side and right side; the other designer paper is top section and bottom section); for a center focal, I layered a bow sticker with gold leafy stems and a pale pink peony sticker.

My April 2026 Stash Bash Kit for layouts and cards

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity, a personal crafting blog!

who: I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old craftsy-artsy former teacher who fell in love with paper crafting and blogging/message boards back in 2009-2010. About 15-20 years before that, I started sketching my own holiday images to give to some family and friends. Through the years, while teaching, I would try to mail or personally hand  each student at least 1 postcard during the semester or year. At one school district, there were 6 new to the JH & HS starting at the same time. So for the four years I was there, I would place holiday cards or cheer-up mid-quarter or quarter postcards in their mailboxes to build rapport and team/community.

where: this is a non-design team related commitment

when: my kit and first card were pulled together on Friday April 10 and the kit-focused post will be released on Saturday, April 11th. nope: Sunday April 12 @ approx 12:10 am

why: It's getting close to mid-month and I hadn't put a kit together. A kit helps for quicker making of layouts and cards; that is after the initial planning and pulling of items from different stash boxes. I'm hoping to do two- 1 page notebook size scrapbook layouts and maybe a few cards using this kit between April 10-30th.

My MTTC #538 CAS style Theme DT card for 12 July 2024

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

purpose: this posting features my newest DT project for My Time To Craft challenge blog which I've managed for over 2.5 years and been part of the team for at least 5 years

when: #538 CAS (Clean and Simple) style theme starts July 12 for 13 days of competition; clean and simple has several definitions in paper-making; some want white on white with a touch of color or another neutral and minimal; some want 1 layer application on the base such as stickers, washi tape, stamping, etc.; and some will take more color as long as there is lots of empty/clean space; percentage/ratio of clean space also varies

what: Sympathy card (with white, ivory, gray, and black neutrals)

notes: How is this card CAS? All of the ivory cardstock is empty space; the upper right corner of the center white panel is empty space; elements are minimal (2 pieces of washi tape, 1 tall thin die-cut and 2 lines of small print sentiment...no ribbons/fru-fru; no excessive colors or print/patterns; no excessive layers

1. ivory/cream cardstock scrap panel = Neenah

2. white cardstock scrap panel = Pen + Gear

3. washi tape = ?; received in a box from another craft artisan

4. stamp sentiment = also received from another crafter in an unmarked clear zip bag

5. the flower die-cut = Simple Stories' The Simple Life ephemera

6. dimensional foam tape used under the white center panel to lift it up and offer depth for the minimal CAS layout

where: My Time To Craft #538 blog post link=
