My Paper Rocks Scissors #19 DT project on 2 August 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello, from north central Illinois in the USA heartland! The "Midwest". I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old craft artisan and blogger that is a design team member for Deanne's Paper Rocks Scissors challenges blog

where: Paper Rocks Scissors #19. The blog post link and image badge are located at the bottom of my posting.

when: PRS #19 launches on August 2, 2026 and goes for the rest of the month. My blog post will be published after 1 pm central time zone on Aug 2nd.

why: The theme of PRS is always 'anything paper and/or scissors' goes. I always try to use both each time I create a design team project. I tend to go 'old school' methods anyway. what: my PRS #19 project is School/office themed thinking of you

how-to and/or vendor notes: (a) kraft cardstock + 5 papers; (b) scissors used to cut measured plaid paper and bright blue paper; not shown: scissors were used to cut dual-sided adhesive tape strips for the papers

My Paper Rocks Scissors Challenges #18 DT project

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello! I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old left hander who is using her right brain!!! Those are 2 key factors for my enjoyment of the arts--fine arts, drama, crafty arts and practical arts. High school freshman year I was a French Can Can girl for this melodrama production. Then sophomore year I was Gertie Cummins in "Oklahoma"!!! Junior year I was stage manager for "Annie Get Your Gun"!! The best part was throwing a taxidermed pigeon into the air for "Annie" to shoot!!! (pretend) Senior year was different. The choir teacher had us learn a 'music across America' kind of presentation. I only sang in a few presentations at the school. They did a short tour by going to the choir teacher's high school in a different part of the state and also did a couple of neighboring schools as assemblies. Those dates conflicted with a state capitol visit for a state FHA team I was on. (Future Homemakers of America)

where: PRS or Paper Rocks Scissors Challenges, is a crafting challenge blog, owned and administered by Deanne. The blog link and badge will be shared at the bottom of the post.

when: #18 starts on July 2, 2026 and lasts until July 31.

why: PRS owned by Deanne was started almost 1.5 years ago and I've been part of the design team since the beginning. Since the theme is easy, I figured it would be easy to create inspiration projects! :) Every month it is always 'anything paper and/or scissors goes'.

what: Thinking of You card

how:

1. paper = 2 floral print papers are reverse sides of each other= Apothecary paper pad by Fancy Pants Designs; scissors used

2. cardstock = heavy white cardstock is folded on left; dimensions are 4" wide x 7" long = Tonic Studios premium cardstock pack; scissors used

3. cardstock = (hidden) 4" x 6" white index card = Jot

4. scissors = washi tape strips = old Pen + Gear

5. scissors = cording = NEW purchase = pale pink and pale beige/sand; each alternating strands with white = there is also a pale blue spool that was part of the 3 in a pack = Crafter's Square

6. other: lime green puffy heart stickers = Hello Hobby/Walmart

7. other: green bow is a wall decal style cling/sticker = part of multicolor bow sheet = Wall Home division of York Wallcoverings = NEW purchase; first bow to use!!!

8. other: pink carnation sticker = Everly Farm sticker book by Fancy Pants Designs

9. other: gold foil leafy stems are wall decal style cling/stickers = part of doves and leafy stem set = Wall Home division of York Wallcoverings = another NEW purchase; first, second, third and fourth items from the sheet to use!!!

10. green dual-tip marker = Art Skills

LINK-UPs:

1B. Love To Craft; new on July 1 and open until Aug 15; theme is anything goes; My project used ruler, pencil, scissors, papers/cardstock, stickers, washi tape, cording, ink and unseen dual-sided adhesive tape to create a lovely floral card. Inside it states: thinking of you

link = https://lovetocraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2026/07/ltccb-93-and-ltccb-92-winner-and-top.html

1C. The Four Seasons Challenge; new on July 1; theme is July/summer season (mood board had flowers, bees, lemons or do A.G. summer); My lovely floral card has a magnolia bloom seen at the top center with lots of pale pink carnations and bright pink flowers that might be anemones; for me these are flowers that you'll see in the middle of summer season [the center pale pink peony almost looks like a carnation, however, in my area, peonies are usually done by the first week of June]

link = https://thefourseasonschallenge.blogspot.com/2026/07/summer-season-july-2026.html

1D. The Crafting Challenge; new on July 1; theme of flowers; My card is full of lovely flowers (using 2 different print papers; look for a thin green X; one designer paper is used for left side and right side; the other designer paper is top section and bottom section); for a center focal, I layered a bow sticker with gold leafy stems and a pale pink peony sticker.

My Paper Rocks Scissors #17 DT card for 2 June 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello! I'm Becca S and June is my birthday month!! I'm now finally joining my childhood classmates in Club 64!! <3 choke! gasp! I'm glad I made it to another year but mentally I only think of myself as 48-50 but my body is definitely in the 60s decade! For my mom, as the firstborn, always matched me to the time of year. My arrival came in the middle of her strawberry harvest and Vacation Bible School teaching and providing cookies and punch!! She planned ahead with cookies baked and frozen. And even the strawberries were thankfully available at most farms in the area that had strawberry patches. 4 cups of sliced strawberries with 1 cup sugar mixed and then placed into freezer storage containers. That was her formula for 1 batch. But she almost made her goal to get a year's worth for her and my dad stored in the deep freezer! My dad was busy farming, taking evening theology classes, and doing US Naval Reserve duty 1 weekend every month + 2 weeks in the summer. Meanwhile, mom was employed as an RN for a old country home converted in use for elderly nursing home. (And she got pregnant with my sister when I was only about 2 months old!!!!) Those are bits of my very early days in this world and my parents who were 25 and 23! :)

My Paper Rocks Scissors DT #14 project for March 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: this posting focuses on my latest design team project for Deanne's Paper Rocks Scissors, a challenges blog. The theme is easy: use anything paper and/or use scissors. This is an unusual card with me using 2 of cardstocks stitched together (came this way) in a unique way--reversed and then punched the circle opening, taped/adhered together after I had done the inking for that center circle area.

Deckle-edged scissors were used to trim the perimeter on the base white CS panel after I inked it.

Regular scissors were used to cut the cording ends. And not shown, dual-sided adhesive tape strips were cut to length to glue the layers together.

when: #14 will start March 2, 2026 and be open for the month

what: Project #1 =

how-to & vendor notes for #1 =

1. white CS base panel = old stash item = came in a scraps pack = Crafter's Square

2. Guava mini stamp pad = Lawn Fawn; stamp pad was applied in different directions multiple times to saturate the white CS layers

3. Gray + white + pink floral 'recipe card' style panel came stitched with a smaller white CS panel (like a flap); I reversed it (if you look close at the stitching you'll be able to tell) and punched a circle from the center of that floral layer; the exposed area on that white CS stitched panel was inked like the base layer; stamped with 'HELLO'; all layers adhered to the base panel; enamel dots added; cording tied on the side = GWP color floral recipe card with stitched white CS flap/layer is from Round Trip stationery pack by Maggie Holmes 2021/American Crafts

4. enamel dots = same pack = Simple Stories

5. orange and white cording = came in a 3-color pack = Crafter's Square

6. black stamp pad = Hero Arts

where #1 will be linked =

Loving my PRS #10 DT project anything paper and or scissors on 2 Nov 2025

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This post shares my newest design team inspiration project for #10 challenge at Paper-Rocks-Scissors owned by friend Deanne. The premise of her challenge blog is easy: anything goes using paper and/or scissors. On this 'blessings' card, I've used straight blade scissors and a decorative edge pair along with ivory, dark brown and green solid cardstocks plus two floral print papers.

when: #10 challenge starts November 2 and ends on November 30, 2025.

what: Project #1 = "Blessings"

how-to &/or vendor notes for #1 = darker harvest season colors

1. ivory cardstock 4.25" x 5.5" folded card with matching envelope = from pack = Crafter's Square; only used 1 panel; edges distressed using scissors

2. dark brown cardstock panel (just under 4.25" x 5.5") trimmed with deckle-edge decorative scissors = Colorbok

3. green cardstock panel is about 3.5" x 3" = Pen + Gear

4. two floral print papers, border sticker, 3 ephemera = from The Simple Life collection by Simple Stories

5. green enamel hearts and clear gems = from different packs = Crafter's Square

Loving my PRS #9 design team project AG using paper and or scissors theme on 2 October 2025

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This posting shares my newest design team contribution to friend Deanne's Paper-Rocks-Scissors challenge blog. The theme is easy: anything goes using paper and/or scissors! It's been a few months since I've used papers, stickers and ephemera from The Simple Life collection by Simple Stories. I have used some of the tiny text strip stickers but not other items included in the sticker book or ephemera packs. Adding the doily edge helps soften the layout and make it look like it came from Grandma's home!

when: #9 starts on October 2nd and ends on October 31, 2025.

what: Project #1 = Family: where life begins and love never ends memory card

how-to &/or vendor notes for #1 =

1. brown cardstock base cut to 4.25" x 5.5" = Colorbok

2. green cardstock panel cut to 3.5" x 3" = Pen + Gear

3. patterned papers, 5 stickers = The Simple Life collection by Simple Stories (scissors used for the thin border sticker to cut it to the width of the card)

4. black ink pad = Hero Arts

5. doily edge = stash (scissors used)

6. enamel dots = same set from Freckled Fawn

where #1 will be linked/shared:

1A. Ellibelle's Garden Party; #7 is still open for a few more days; the theme is anything in or from a garden; My card has lots of flowers and butterflies that are both found in gardens.
