who: I'm Becca S, a former teacher who is now embracing paper-crafting and some digital dabbling along with blogging. Lots of blogging!! Most of my friends have been unaware that there are crafting challenges in blog world. They're surprised that 'this' is a thing! :) <3

where: Ally's Angels is a challenge blog which I previously was a co-owner in a name only along with DT commitment. Then just over a year ago, I became sole owner taking over the management duties and staying as a DT member. A provided blog link for #106 will be found towards the end of this post. 

when: Ally's Angels is an offset timeframe starting on the 15th day of each month and ending on the 12th of the following month. May 15-June 12, 2026. 

why: Ally's Angels has always been 'anything goes' theme. I've taken time to do 2 different themed cards: BFF/friendship and birthday. 

what: Project #1 = "When we have each other, we have everything" card; inside it simply has "BFF" for best friends forever!

how-to for Project #1 = 

1. Simple Stories' Front Porch (2024) collection: doily print paper and self-adhesive brad (Love)

2. kraft cardstock base is left-side folded with dimensions of 4.25" deep x 5.5" wide = Colorbok

3. Coats: bright pink thread used in 2 different places

4. unsure: hexagon print decorative tape (also used for a right side border on the inside)

5. Crafter's Square: 1/4 white paper doily

6. Art Skills: dual-tip navy blue marker for edging of papers/CS

7. Paper Mate's Ink Joy gel pen set: blue used to in-line the two 'we' in the sentiment

7. Colorbok = pink paper that I punched twice (1 circle on the front and another on the inside)

why: This posting shares my newest design team contribution to friend Deanne's Paper-Rocks-Scissors challenge blog. The theme is easy: anything goes using paper and/or scissors! It's been a few months since I've used papers, stickers and ephemera from The Simple Life collection by Simple Stories. I have used some of the tiny text strip stickers but not other items included in the sticker book or ephemera packs. Adding the doily edge helps soften the layout and make it look like it came from Grandma's home!

The Nines Saturday Night series #1 on 19 April 2025

why: This posting is starting a new series to honor the NINES! Since my mom passed last August 31st, I got thinking about Mother's Day coming up (USA) and want my 'nines' to all get happy mail from me around this special occasion. I do give them cards for their birthdays and major holidays but I thought I would try to make a more concerted effort every month. The 'nines' are my 2 maternal great aunts who are 96 and almost 94, my 3 maternal aunts ranging from 77-86 and 2 paternal aunts who are in their 80s. The other 2 are my dad's 2 surviving cousins who are in their 90s!!! 

The 2 paternal cousins of my dad's have cards that have similar layouts and supplies and will be used for a blog commitment on May 2nd. The 3 maternal aunts and 2 maternal great aunts will have their cards shared next Saturday night.

1. main focal panel is recycled mail from my husband's Medicare insurance provider!!! It's a Hallmark Business Connections product. I separated the front from the back and then tore the perimeter going in opposite directions on each side to vary the look

what: Merry Snowflake Gift Tag Set (2 photos)

reverse side: attached recycled cardstock

notes: quick and easy way to merge a bought product with recycled to craft something different for a gift bag or box

1. "Merry" gift tag was part of a mixed design set bought at either WM, DG, or DT

2. gray geometric print cardstock = punched 2.25" circle from recycled tissue pop-up box style cardstock packaging

3. on the flip side/front = blue and white icy-looking paper is recycled/upcycled business envelope security lining punched 2.25" circle

4. large white with glitter foam snowflake sticker = from multi-pack/sheet from DT
