why: This posting shares my/the MTTCC's next shape in a series that the DT members have taken turns suggesting a base shape for Christmas cards. Except for the red ribbon on my project, I've embraced the round/circle for all elements! Cute! MTTCC is My Time To Craft Christmas which is a crafting challenge blog offering alternating Friday morning themes with it's parent/sister blog MTTC/My Time To Craft and its general themes.

~~ interesting fact:

fine arts and practical arts for me started very young! Through 4-H Club at age nine-15 or 16, I started building my skills in cooking, baking, grilling, sewing, nature crafts, flower arranging, etc.

 Before that at age six, I started piano lessons but stalled around 7.5 years old then restarted from ages 9-17! Clarinet and bass clarinet lessons in the school bands started at age 10 -18. 

Card-making started in my mid-20s to late 20s and then around age 47, I discovered a message board swap group through Paper Wishes website that morphed into blogging around 2010!

My MTTC #543 Spring Season Theme DT card on 20 Sept 2024

purpose: This posting features my newest contribution as manager/DT member of My Time To Craft challenge blog. We have a worldwide design team and one of the members is from Australia. Since the Southern Hemisphere has opposite seasons to the Northern Hemisphere, she's now coming out of winter season into spring. It was her turn to suggest the theme and it's spring season for #543.

what: I've Got That Feeling of Spring in my Heart!

purpose: This posting showcases my love of creativity in all aspects, real or make-believe! It's hard to believe that I've owned HQFCB (the old TFATU) almost 2 years!!! Yes. November 11th. Competition #9 started September 7th and the theme is always anything goes fantasy! The September fantasy focus option is Pegasus.

what: PROJECT #1 = mix of fantasy creatures

1. base floral paper 6" square = SU

2. beige/tan cardstock and the neon orange (scanned butternut squash) cardstock = Pen + Gear

3. image (minus the handwritten cursive sentiment) was created using AI; how cool is that??!!!!!!!!!; I entered into the generator 'fantasy creatures gathered around an acorn house' and this is 1 of 4 images that were created. I had to edit for the brightness and contrast.

MTTC #511 theme of summertime camping DT card for 30 June 2023

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

 Today's creative project showcases the new summertime camping theme (#511) for My Time To Craft challenge blog!

WHAT? = MTTC #511 summertime camping narrows in our just past travel theme. Whether it's backyard camping, a camper trailer/RV, a campground, Boy or Girl Scout or church camps, etc. these are just some ideas to get you started. Maybe you have a child or grandchild going to camp for the first time. I've got nieces working for a Lutheran church association campground and I try to send a 'just because' note card sometime during the summer for them using their code names. There are also day camp programs run by the YMCA and other organizations like 4-H Clubs and others.

WHEN? = June 30-July 13, 2023

Krafty Chicks Week 4 All Occasion Guest DT inspiration

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart is bittersweet with this posting! This is my last week of honor as Guest Chick DT for Krafty Chicks challenge blog! Week 4 theme at KC is "All Occasion" #648. 

I chose to use my roll of washi tape petals that can be added to in order to build up as large of a flower that you want. That started the card. Then pearl gems/dots added. Some pink glitter glue was thinned out with white glue and applied to the edges to not only hold them down but add some pink to define the blue and white petals against the turquoise cardstock. 

Encouragement card=

Some vendor notes:

a. washi tape petals (I think is Pen + Gear)

b. the black 'diamond' glitter tape (I think is Scotch brand...old item in my stash)

c. the Scripture verse was cut with a circle stencil/traced, colored, and then applied to the small silver doily = Colorful Prayer Cards by Crown Jewelz in Ohio (bought at Dollar Tree)

d. the other items are old stash items

Krafty Chicks #647 GD inspiration project for Week 3 January 2023 with CAS theme

My heart is happy to be able to share my 3rd Guest Chick/Designer opportunity with Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog!

Krafty Chicks #647 has a CAS or Clean and Simple theme

for Week 3 of January 2023. 

(January 19-25th)

It is SO DIFFICULT for my left-handed, right brain to minimize for a card. Towards the end of 2022 I've been less panicked about doing a CAS style but I still have some nerves and doubt. 

Even with this one for KCCB! I worried and stewed over every little decision. 

The wood heart with gold foil dots was my biggest stressor--do I include it or not?

My best friend since about 1st grade really likes neutrals for both her home and her clothes. So this was pieced together for her for Valentine's Day. 

Vendor notes:

a. the floral die-cut, 3 scraps, A2 white card base and the sentiment 'label' are from Simple Stories card kit

b. the wood heart, I think, is an American Craft company/division

c. the tan cardstock background panel is from stash

Easy peasy for the front. Clean and Simple style-wise, the upper right corner was kept open and the lower left corner has some curved space around the heart. Embellishments are restricted to the wood heart and the little accent cluster at the top left. That's it. Even the color palette is kept to almost all neutrals.

2022 MTTC Feb 11 #475 Theme All You Need Is Love DT card

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! This post challenge will start before Valentine's Day however it needn't be a Valentine's card. Think anniversary, birthday, and friendship, too. So starting February 11 for 2 weeks #475, the theme challenge at My Time To Craft challenge blog is "all you need is love".

Pink, Red, Gray, and Green Love Card: (card 1)

Design notes:

A. pink cardstock base is left side fold and 1/2 sheet for dimensions 4.25" high and 5.5" wide (Pen + Gear)

B. the 2 designer patterned papers are from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) paper pad collection "mint berry' from 2016--!!! (I've been hoarding this! Out of 80 sheets sized at 4.5" x 6.5", I still have 63 full sheets AFTER making this card and only 3 scraps of different sizes!! :))

D. embellishments are from stash; note the 2 white sheet ribbon pieces dangling from the silver duo glitter hearts

E. a die-cut heart in my stash served as the stencil to trace the designer paper heart

Wishes of Love Valentine card= (card 2 for MTTC)

A quick summary of steps and products: dimensions 6" square on navy blue cardstock; then Mint Berry pack from The Paper Studio's charcoal gray with white x cardstock; then light blue cardstock stenciled with blue ink (snowflakes/part of the stencil sheet was used); alphas are from 3 different vendors; silver doily, white foam heart sticker, blue glitter paint pen was used on the white foam heart, 6 total navy blue pearl gems and 2 white glitter foam snowflake stickers that were all stash supply items.

This is going to my mom. Her favorite color is blue.
