purpose: this posting showcases my latest DT/co-owner contribution project for Ally's Angels! The past 4 months I've been resurrecting some old neglected stamp sets but this time I chose to take a break and use some old stickers for a colorful back to school book theme tag.

27 May 2022 MTTCC #35 Theme of Wreaths DT cards

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I'm Becca S as I go by in blogland and my husband and I live in the USA heartland, the Midwest. I spent the bulk of my childhood years in Illinois while he grew up in Missouri. Our paths crossed in June 1995 which was 5 years after I'd moved to the St. Louis metro area. His first wife died in March 1995 and his oldest sister came to work at the decorating store where I did about the same time. She tried to introduce us for awhile and finally 6 days after I turned 33, Joe agreed to meet me! We quickly connected and were married 7 months and 1 week after meeting!!! <3

It's been awhile since I shared any personal info so I thought I'd go back to the beginning of my love story that has continued for over 26 years now. 

He tolerates (!!) my crafting! It brings me joy and he hears many of our friends and family state how they enjoy receiving one of my handmade cards. Today's blog posting showcases wreath-themed cards for my Design Team commitment for My Time To Craft Christmas challenge blog. 

#35 challenge starts May 27, 2022 and ends June 9th. I've crafted 2 cards with 1 showing a wreath on a door and the other it is around the deer's neck!!

A few design and vendor notes for card #2: Bo Bunny's Christmas Treasures 6" x 8" paper pad (2019) for the lovely holly and berries patterned cardstock. More red metallic foil dazzles from Paper Wishes website. More gift tags upcycled. The top one with the deer has foam tape under it to add dimension. And in the photo below, the mini clothespin clip with the wood deer made it hard to get a good view on the scanner plate. I wanted to show both views. 13 May 2022 MTTCC #34 Theme of Sled and or Sleigh Christmas cards

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart's been very excited this winter and spring to be able to carve out time for card-making! This post the cards must have a sled and/or sleigh and be Christmas/winter holiday appropriate (because it is a Christmas blog!). Imagine my surprise for Card #1 to combine a sled with reusing/upcycling a commercial card scene that shows a family in a sleigh with children playing in the snow on the left and a comfy beautiful home on the right. 

These cards are for the design team inspiration projects shared on the May 13, 2022 posting at My Time To Craft Christmas challenge blog (MTTCC). It's time to show the theme #34 of sled and/or sleigh. 

Christmas Night Sleigh Ride card=

A small bit of white glitter cardstock was used to accent the top right corner. The upcycled card panel was trimmed down just enough to keep most of the wonderful artwork of Terry Redlin. I kept his name and the sentiment on so that allowed me to add the sled accent (upcycled gift tag) and the clear crystal gems as the only embellishments. Pretty easy to make. Card base (top folded dark red) has a matching envelope were purchased at The Paper Source website. 

I thought it was a fun idea to add the sled tag accent because there are 2 children playing ice hockey and another lacing skates on as well as dog painted in the scene on the left. With all that snow-covered landscape, surely someone has been using a sled as well as taking rides in the sleigh!

DT project #2= We wish you a merry Christmas--sledding card!

Oh, my snowflakes! Is "Stickopatomus" still around making stickers? Those 2 large icy silver snowflakes are mega years old. So is the text and snowman with gift sled die-cuts. These were part of a scrapbooking kit that I bought on a vacation trip in 2010 or 2011. Crazy!! Even more crazy is the frosty french blue with white diamond print cardstock!!! --It's another recycled/upcycled resourceful move on my part! It's a side flap from a pop-up style tissue box!!! --YES!!! Behind that is mirror foil that the scanner light on my printer has captured bounced light/color waves.

DT project #3= Oh, what fun at Christmas time! card

The white scalloped flat card base comes in a set with envelopes by The Paper Studio. I forget the vendor for the snowmen washi tape. A set of winter themes were given to me either 2 or 3 years ago. The bright blue with snowflake decorative tape was also used on card #2. Scraps of a snowflake stationery sheet and constellation night sky cardstock add more blues. The 2 kids on the sled image is a sticker freebie sent by a children's subscription magazine.

Thankfully this tag came together in about 30 minutes. It is large because my intention is to attach it to a jumbo gift bag. It's about 3"wide and 5.5" high. Lacy and Lavender Love Tag = design team project for MTTC

Isn't this lovely? Made in about 30 minutes! The white cardstock base is recycled packaging backing for a set of stickers. I trimmed the top corners. The opening at the top was already there. The lace was tied and the ends looped back through. The vertical strip of patterned paisley paper is from The Paper Studio. The lavender lace, stickers, and silver doily have been purchased at Dollar Tree at different times in the past year or so. Lacy Lavender Love...

The prize sponsor is My Besties and they offered a nurse digi image as one of the choice options for the DT crew. I leaped quickly on requesting the nurse image since my mom is a retired RN and October is her birthday month! WIN-WIN!!  However blue is her favorite color so that's why I've chosen to not go 100% pink. I've got a pink, raspberry, blue and turquoise blue for the tags and I've tried to use those for coloring the digital image, too. Here's my mom's birthday card:

this stunning tag could also be saved until January for our 24th anniversary! Since we got married in winter and about a month after Christmas, I've used before the deer image and play on word(s) of "I love you dear" or "I love you dearly". He loves humor and to tease, so it's a very subtle way for me to insert some creative humor.

I just LOVE how this tag came together! And I guess I shouldn't make you all jealous by telling that the Christmas stickers from The Paper Studio were bought for 20 cents!!! I was shopping in Hobby Lobby about 3 days before Christmas and found these on an endcap marked clearance, so I snagged 2 packs. This is my first project using the gold and black color theme stickers!!

Sketch N Scrap Go Green Pre Crop Challenge for Card saying Thanks

Thank You card

Using a sketch from Sketch N Scrap, a tag, and a flower along with 3 patterned papers--to make it easy I used the same sketch that Lori (SNS design team member) used for their blog post. It is #8 by Lisa Hidy and from 2013. I followed the sketch except for a few tweaks that I explain below. I have a thank you butterfly tag, pale green flower to the left side, and a total of 5 patterned papers (background tonal butterflies, tonal small strips under the tag, a print strip that is longer than the other two, the mottled green tag, and the bold colorful butterfly tag!)

Here is the card I created:

Photographed against a very light green/asparagus cardstock, the cream cardstock base for the card doesn't show much. I added a border band of silver metallic tape across the top to hide the top hole and dotted line margin that I didn't trim off. This wasn't a full 6 x 8 inch sheet, so I wanted to make the most for the 4.25" x 5.5" base. And I didn't place the flower on the tag like the sketch because I wanted the butterflies to be seen.

More blog thanks go to 100 Pattern Papers Challenge group on Facebook because these papers came from the 2019 starter kit that I pulled together back in January and then a smaller portion were used for my Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog and community group Feb 2019 kit! I've been very busy both in February and now in March using the large Feb kit. It was filled with nature-inspired colors and patterns. Some birds and lots of butterflies.

Sketchy Saturday prompt from 22 december 2018 entry one

Document December 2018 with a mixed format pocket page's first entry

I collected some scraps from Christmas card-making and some leftovers from my Nov 2018 CKC blog copy-cat kit to quickly put together an entry in the scrapbook for this awesome month. Three of the four pockets will use the same sketch prompt provided by Laurel Seabrook Designs' Sketchy Saturday challenge.

The gift tag used as a sentiment focal is a tad overlarge for this pocket entry yet when seen within the context of the full sheet doesn't look too overwhelming. The stickers are old leftovers from junk mail. White copy paper for base. Red with black dots patterned paper is from The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby. The fun and festive diagonal stripe is old stuff. Stickers are used instead of snowflakes as shown on the sketch.
