Scrapbook Layout #10 with gal pals lunch on 12 August 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello!, I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old artsy-craftsy blogger who enjoys living in the Midwest region of U.S.

where: this is a non- design team related project; not for any of my challenge blogs or for the three teams I'm on for friend Deanne; I'll be sharing this layout at 5 current challenge blogs.

when: the lunch date get-together with two childhood friends was on Wednesday, August 12, 2026; I've prepared the scrapbook layout and this blog post on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

why: A personal crafting goal for 2026 is to document as many get-together with family and friends that I can. The story behind the chopped pic of Laurie (left), Susie on the right was holding her cell phone and trying to take some quick snapshots. It was lightly raining and had been raining off and on for several days before this. It was a day when all three of us could travel and meet up. Susie and Laurie live closer to 'Seven Saints' and it was my turn to drive further. Susie and I had never eaten at 7 Saints. For Laurie, she hadn't eaten there since a college student at the U of I!!! After eating, they were both ready to go. They didn't want to snap any re-takes so I just have the one photo for the three of us. And they both told me how good it was of me, so I cropped it on FB and had it as a temporary profile picture....

BTW: the food was delicious! I should have snapped a pic of our food however we got busy talking and catching up.....

what: Lunch get-together at Seven Saints in Champaign, IL layout using lots of purple tones throughout the layout

                                 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scrapbook Layout #9 showcasing lunch with BFF on 20 Oct 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello, I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old artsy-craftsy blogger, who wants to continue crafting and blogging as long as I'm able. I do have left hand's middle, pointer and thumb diagnosed with mild arthritis this summer. I'm left-handed so this is expected but not for crafting, blogging, driving, playing piano, etc. Then to compound things, I fell outside on our back deck around midnight between June 11-12th. The boards were wet from having storms earlier plus a tornado that luckily skipped over our small town. Unfortunately some deck screws had loosened a bit, protruding enough that it caught my slipper of my left foot, causing me to twist and fall down on my left side. I put my left hand out though and the impact severely bruised my palm and my three center fingers. Some muscle tissue in my thumb palm area got damaged because of a deck screw. Over the next few days, the jarring pain/nerves and inflammation traveled up my arm and across my shoulders. UGH. Enough of that story. It's taken these past 4 months to get close to being healed however if I forget and grip the steering wheel too long, the pain flares up. Or if I do several minutes of cutting or an hour of straight typing on blog post(s). SIGH.

On a happy note, I was able to meet my best friend in Bloomington-Normal, north side near the interstate(s). Susie traveled about 90+ minutes to eat and talk!!!

where: THIS IS NOT A DESIGN TEAM COMMITMENT. A personal crafting goal in 2026 was to scrapbook as many gatherings with friends and/or family/couple w/ dog that I can squeeze in between those DT projects.

when: Scrapbook Layout #9 for 2026.

6. two tickets, two phrase arrows, three little 'charms' (on the cording) = Farmstead Harvest ephemera pack by American Crafts

8. Chocolate Chip/brown ink pad was randomly applied around the layout = Lawn Fawn

AA #99 anything goes theme DT friendship card on 15 Oct 2025

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: The purpose of this posting is to showcase my newest design team contribution to Ally's Angels! Ally's Angels is a challenge blog and we're at #99! The theme is always 'anything goes' so you get to use any occasion, any layout style, any techniques, etc. I've done some overlapped rectangles in 3 different sizes and a round punched circle to highlight the tea cup. Gray ink was used to outline the papers after they were adhered to the base. Guava/pink-coral tone ink was used on the wood laser cut 'friend' and on the punched circle.

when: #99 starts October 15 and will end on November 12, 2025.

what: Project #1 = Friend(ship) + tea = delight

how-to & vendor notes for #1 =

1. ivory cardstock for base cut to 4.25" x 5.5" = Neenah

2. light blue cardstock for background cut to approx. 3.75" x 4.75" = Neenah

3. floral and dot print papers (2 different sizes) = Summer Lovin' paper pad by Simple Stories (2022)

4. wood laser cut 'friend' (from a mixed set) = Crafter's Square

5. tea cup puffy sticker (from a mixed color and style set of teacups) = Crafter's Square

6. Guava (coral-pink tone) ink/mini stamp pad = Lawn Fawn; used on the wood word and punched circle under the tea cup

7. gray retractable marker pen = Zebra Clickart (outlining perimeters of all papers on top of the ivory base)

8. navy blue pearls = Crafter's Square (cut into small sections maybe 18 pearls each to fit into small storage containers; stored with other colors/types of pearls & gems) ===> not used often items

9. circle punch tool 2.25" diameter = EK Success

where #1 will be linked =

1A. First Cup Challenges; started on Oct 1st; anything with beverage/drink related; My friendship card has a tea cup and saucer.

link = https://firstcupchallenges.blogspot.com/2025/10/first-cup-challenge-7-october.html

image prompt =

1B. Dream Valley; new on Oct 6/week 2 of 2; add pearls or gems or both; I've used navy blue pearls on each side of the card

link = https://dreamvalley2.blogspot.com/2025/10/challenge-346-add-pearls-or-gems-or-both.html

1C. Neglected Stuff Challenge; started October 5; theme/purpose is to use old/over a year old and/or neglected/forgotten; On my card, both patterned prints are from a paper pad that is almost used up that was released in 2022; also the navy blue pearls because the package had a sheet with a 120 of them and I have other colors and types like plastic crystal-looking gems, these don't get used much. The navy blue brings out the the little blueberry type stems in the floral print and there is a mid-tone blue in the dots print that gets noticed more because of the navy pearls.

link = https://neglectedstuff.blogspot.com/2025/10/neglected-stuff-1025-challenge.html

1D. PoP or Path of Positivity; started Oct 6  ; theme of anything goes that's positive; the unexpected is nontraditional holiday colors; MY card is for AG +. = strengthening a friendship with mailing or hand-delivering a handmade card is a thoughtful, positive gesture

link = https://pathofpositivitychallenge.blogspot.com/2025/10/ch-134-anything-goes-positive-with-opt.html

1E. LPOCF or Lil Patch of Crafty Friends; started Oct 5; theme of anything goes; My card is for AG; a friendship card; my childhood classmates and church youth group friends are scattered with several 2-3 hours drive away or even many states away so sending a friendship card occasionally is something I can do to remind them that I think they're special, a treasure to me

Loving my PRSC blog #1 DT projects on 2 Feb 2025

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This post showcases the very first debut challenge for PRSC or Paper-Rock-Scissors Challenge starting February 2, 2025!!! I quickly asked to join Deanne for the design team. This is an easy creative challenge to get involved with = anything goes using paper and/or scissors!!! Clever idea!

when: #1 starts February 2, 2025 and ends March 1, 2025

what: PROJECT #1 = girlfriend thinking of you card

notes for #1:

1. base white card; cut into 2 pieces and one-half was deckle-edged cut and lifted with foam dimensional tape = Crafter's Square

2. pink watercolor-look paper; also gray cardstock scrap = Art Skills

3. pink cardstock scrap = Neenah

4. tan cardstock scrap = Pen + Gear

5. "just a note" stamp = Art Skills

6. alcohol markers = Nuvo (Thistle; Lilac Grey)

7. alcohol marker = Arteza (Condensed Milk)

8. gal mini card = "Unique" Cards and Tags Ephemera; 2023; Fancy Pants Designs (new to me)

9. 2 flower duos + floral label/tag = "Pink Meadows" Ephemera; 2023; Fancy Pants Designs (new to me)

and

what: PROJECT #2 = series of pics to sequence Bible verse journaling:

above: January's monthly planner left side is shown with just the verses that will be used during the month. Check below for a mid-month update.

below: my KJV Bible purchased in 2024 with which I did some Bible verse highlighting with my mother off and on during the last 5 months before she entered a long-term care facility. I decided that for January 2025, I would restart with the addition of a monthly planner to write a summary thought for each verse. In the Bible, I box the verse and use a peach crayon to highlight it and then either in the top margin or bottom margin, I will date it.

and pic 3 below = this shows some of the additions made from the start of January until almost mid-January. Decorative snowflake tape added for a top border. An "important" text sticker added next to the January 1st box. A bottom white and silver mirror foil decorative tape was added.

notes for #2: papers used for this project are: planner, text sticker on left side/scanned paper and Bible; scissors used for cutting the decorative tapes

21. Navigators: 2025 monthly planner was sent in the organizations' mailers; received at my mom's house and since she passed on August 31, 2024, I brought home with me to use.

22. Bible, KJV

23. assortment of black ink pens, peach crayon, decorative tapes= stash

24. Pen + Gear: planner stickers
