My Heart's Quest Pretty in Pink #1 DT mostly pink cards on 15 Sept 2026

who: Hello! I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old artsy-craftsy former FACS (home economics) and also Early Childhood teacher! For my wedding dress, I took 2 patterns and merged them together. I altered the sleeve length and also the bow/bustle at my back waist area. The pew markers and most of the other decorations were put together by me. A brother-in-law of my husband's created an arch, painted it gold and scroll-saw the letters of our names to have on boards that he placed on the support bar connecting the sides together. It was a unique feature for our ceremony. That was 30.5 years ago already!!! <3

where: Heart's Quest Pretty In Pink is a brand new crafting challenge blog and the blog link will be shared near the bottom of this post. I've started this since Creations in Pink owned by another crafting blogger was closed in August 2026.  

when: #1 starts September 15 until October 12, 2026. 

why: Since mid-March to August 12, 2026, I was on the design team for CIP, helping to provide inspirational cards featuring mostly pinks. And I knew that past entry levels were pretty good back prior to 2025. So I'll give it a try and see how it goes. 

what: Project #1= Arched focal card with friendship quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson

how: This card has several ranges of pinks + pinkish/lavender in the plaid, a small bit of light blue and darker blue and bits of green. Neutrals of white, black and gray.

2. friendship quote was found on page 23 in a gift book called "Friendship Is A Gift" = Clever Factory

Paper Rocks Scissors challenges #11 design team project on 2 Dec 2025

why: This posting showcases my new design team project for PRS or Paper-Rocks-Scissors challenges blog owned by Deanne. The theme is anything goes using paper and/or scissors. Details of the papers and scissors usage are in the notes section.

what: Project #1 = Pretty in Purple birthday card

how-to & vendor notes for #1 =

1. Papers/cardstocks:

a. plaid print paper = Recollections

b. white CS = Georgia Pacific

c. watercolor print CS = Crafter's Square (multi-colors pack)

2. Scissors used = to cut white (middle base layer) CS to 5.5" square + plaid paper for the bottom base to be seen in the punched holes; the watercolor CS was trimmed on 1 side reducing the 6" square down to 5.5" square; scissors also used for cutting 2 long lengths of cording to weave through and have enough for a large knotted bow.

4. red-purple cording = Crafter's Square (sold in 3 color spool sets)

5. the jumbo puffy dots stick-ons and blue pearls = also Crafter's Square from separate packages

6. the "pretty" banner & wildflowers with butterfly die-cut ephemera = Simple Stories' Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers bits and pieces pack
