who: I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old artsy-craftsy blogger. As a faith believer in the Trinity, I understand that there is a battle for good versus evil throughout our world. I know God has given us amazing mental abilities for creativity, logic, discernment between reality and fantasy. Someone recently commented that 'soft' fantasy refers to the make believe that is charming, whimsical yet some can be fierce protectors like guardian angels and dragons. So HQFCB wants to see your angels, fairies, gnomes, mermaids, dragons, unicorns, etc. 

where: HQFCB or Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenges Blog. It is a specialty niche crafting challenge that started many years ago and I believe I'm the 4th owner. 

when: #55 begins October 6, 2026 and stays open for 6-7 weeks. 

why: This personal blog post features my newest design team fantasy inspiration projects for HQFCB. I've chosen a fairy and a gnome for my two 'anything goes fantasy' samples. 

what: Project #1 = gnome in his Autumn garden shaped card

how-to &/or vendor notes for #1:

1. yellow and green watercolor cardstock = from a multicolor and different watercolor swirl prints package = Crafter's Square

2. pastel green and pastel yellow paper circles (traced and fussy cut) = Colorbok

3. gourds, gnome and sign stickers = Enchanted Garden sticker sheet = Fancy Pants Designs

4. gold rhinestones = Nicole Brand Crafts

5. gold glitter posy on toothpick (sold in a set, intended for floral arrangements/wreaths or for cake decorating) = center was open originally; Crafter's Square

6. Mustard Jar color Stone Drops (paint) = Nuvo (scanner light faded the Mustard Jar, think butternut squash color, to a sandy tan tone)

7. green washable marker for inking the outer layer/CS base = Jot

8. black non-smudge retractable marker pen = Zebra Clickart (1 of 4 neutral colors set) for outlining the smaller two round layers

20. kraft A2 size card base, folded on the left side = w/ matching envelope from pack = Crafter's Square

21. plaid print paper = Recollections = read next note how I altered the plaid

22. I altered the plaid print paper by adding a deep orange marker stripes on top of the muted red stripes. It transformed the paper into an autumn season look. 

23. brown and dark orange dual-tip markers = Jot

24. fern specialty stickers = from a pack of fern stickers = Crafter's Square

25. enamel dots in 2 sizes = Simple Stories

26. layered fairy and 2 butterflies dimensional stickers = from a mixed color pack of fairies and butterflies = Crafter's Square
