My Heart's Quest Fantasy #54 DT projects for 6 August 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello! I'm Becca S who has been doing crafting blogging since 2010! During the past few years I've grown my ownership of specialty niche crafting challenge blogs. In the past 2 months I've changed the timelength of many of the blogs in order to provide more time for my husband, our dog and I to do some 1 day or overnight trips. On May 30 we spent the day at Lake Shelbyville and Clinton Lake (IL). June 9 I met two childhood/classmate girlfriends for a long lunch in Bloomington, IL. June 13 was spent at Lake Taylorville and Lake Lou Yaeger (IL). July 6 was spent again at Lake Shelbyville. July 13 was spent in Ottawa, IL. July 17 was a short trip over to Dwight, IL to see the Big Boy steam engine that is traveling across the country.

where: These 2 fantasy projects are for Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenges Blog #54. The blog post link and date/theme badge will be shown at the bottom of this posting.

when: HQFCB #54 begins August 6, 2026 and ends September 25, 2026.

why: HQFCB is 1 of 13 crafting challenge blogs that I own and am part of each design inspiration team. My Mondays Mixed Media Journal Page #5 on 20 July 2026

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity!, a personal crafting blog!

who: Hello! I'm Becca S, a 60+ year old artsy-craftsy blogger, who loves mish-meshing ages of products plus different companies' products! For me that's part of the creative fun...like solving a jigsaw puzzle!

where: This is a non-design team related project. When my blogging schedule allows, I enjoy doing something creative that I want to take some time to do.

when: Monday, July 20, 2026

why: About two months ago or so, I started 'My Mondays Mixed Media Journal' and this is #5 page.

what: MMMMJP #5 = weather theme journal page

how: mediums used are: colored pencil, colored ink pen, stamp pad ink, alcohol marker, washable marker, highlighter marker, soft waxy/paint, gold glitter finish acrylic paint & permanent marker.

processes include: cursive handwriting, stenciling/tracing, dotting, smearing, coloring...

1. 9 inch x 6 inch spiral bound sketchbook; 30 sheets of medium surface = Tree House Pad and Paper, Inc.

2. yellow (for large circle/sun) and blue (pool of water) Paint Sticks = sold in a 4-color set by Art Skills = in my stash box for over 2 years; and blue was softer, waxier than the yellow and went on thick so I used a tissue to help smear the blue to give the look of splashed out water...this also helped it to dry quicker

3. teal/aqua blue (for clouds with rain) highlighter marker = Bic; I've had these for 2-3 years

4. hot pink and red ink pens (+ navy blue for 1 set of waves) = Paper Mate

5. gray, black colored pencils (for the quarter moon) = Marvy Uchida; I've had these for 3-4+ years

6. Pea Green alcohol marker (borderline) = Arteza; I've had a few colors of Arteza alcohol markers given to me 3-4+ years ago

7. yellow washable marker (for 3 little suns that were stenciled & 1 stenciled star) = Jot

8. gold glitter finish acrylic paint (dots) = Folk Art/Plaid; I've had this small paint bottle for 2 years or more

9. Narwhal/gray mini stamp pad (dots/dabs) = Lawn Fawn

10. children's/folk/country song "You Are My Sunshine" = written by Paul Rice and then he sold the rights for $35 to Jimmie Davis who along with Charles Mitchell, played/sung/recorded the song. 1939-1940.

11. many suns stencil sheet = Simple Stories

12. large circles were created with a homemade stencil (punched hole in an index card)

13. star, irregular border line(s), cloud with rain lines, set of 2 wave lines = very old stencils and stencil ruler found at my mom's house in the past 2 years; I think these are about 40-50 years old!!!!

LINK-UPs:

My MTTC #560 DT Square Shape-Based Card theme project on 16 May 2025

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This posting's focus is for my manager/DT commitment to My Time To Craft. We're just past the halfway point in our shaped-card bases required themes! Another team member decided to do square shape. My background is smooshed paint technique; this is a top layer applied to the 'base/main' layer with the paint. After pressing down this light yellow cardstock to smoosh the paint a bit, I peeled up the yellow cardstock layer from the bottom right corner and went on a diagonal path which pulled the paint causing those vertical lines/ridges!!! Cool!!

when: #560 starts May 16, 2025 and lasts 13 days.

what: Celebrate Sunshine Flowers Birthday Card

how-to notes:

1. Pewter Gray acrylic paint = Apple Barrel

2. Neon Pink acrylic paint = Crafter's Closet

3. Green acrylic paint = Crafter's Square

4. Metallic Gold acrylic paint = also Crafter's Square

Don't Throwaway Scraps Thursday #7 on 15 May 2025

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity Blog!

why: it's been about 2 weeks since I've had a chance to make a scraps card for my DTST personal series! Part of the issue was 4 days spent working on sorting through 'stuff' still remaining at my mom's place. My out-of-state sister was here, so she took another car load to her home. Lots got donated in 2 trips last week and 1 trip yesterday. Some stuff got burned. (farm) Some stuff brought into town to our trash bin. And some more stuff came to my crowded little house! sigh....The scrap strips for this card had been weaved together last week but that was as far as it got.

Last night I taped the underside joints/crossovers and then used a lot of dual-sided adhesive tape strips to get this secured to the square base. The outlining of the strips was also done last night. Then this evening, I added the ephemera and word stickers.

when: DTST #7 will be published on Thursday May 15, 2025.

what: Project = Fun Moments

how-to notes =

1. scrap strips of cardstocks = Art Skills

2. neon orange card base scanned to a butternut squash color; 6" square trimmed to a 5.5" square = Art Skills

3. die-cut ephemera = Jen Hadfield's Live and Let Grow 2021/ American Crafts

4. 'fun' and 'moments' stickers = The Simple Life sticker book by Simple Stories

5. black retractable marker pen = Zebra Clickarts

6. blue crystal gems = from package = Crafter's Square
