 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Today I'm showcasing a Christmas card for my DT commitment with The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenges blog! It's an every other Tuesday competitions with ACG or Anything Christmas Goes for its theme(s). 

I've got a fun mix of colors and patterns for this delightfully festive Christmas card!

THICC #129 DT inspiration card for 29 November 2022 launch

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart's excited to be sharing a candy cane themed Christmas card! Lots of red and white contrasted with black and gold fill this card! This candy cane rich card is for my design team commitment with The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenges blog (THICC). Competition #129 starts November 29, 2022 and lasts for 13 days. 

I've added stars to the mix for another festive wintery element. 

Candy Cane Stripes Christmas card=

Due to the thickness of embellishments, laying this card on the scanner plate of my computer printer required me to press the lid down very firmly. However it still has the shadow on 35%. I scanned 3 times and they all look about the same. If I have time, I will try to set up either an indoor or outdoor setting and take a cell phone camera pic to try to get better results.....

Supplies and vendors to mention:

1. gold stocking dazzle and 3 gold star dazzles (Paper Wishes website)

2. candy cane patterned paper (The Paper Studio)

3. washi tapes, black CS, red CS, red glitter bow, wood die-cut crossed candy canes, and the red and white striped cardstock tag are all old stash items

4. the wood die-cut crossed candy canes had color applied by me--white colored pencil, red marker that was topped with red glitter paint pen

First card for 2022

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! It's hard to imagine that this is the first card I've made in 4 1/2 months!! After three previous years of regular weekly crafting, it has felt really great to do some crafting in the late hours of Thursday! 

This card is based on a sketch I saw a couple of days ago on 52 Weeks to Christmas challenge blog. And later in the post I will show that. I took a few creative liberties with the sketch like scattering the white glitter snowflakes but felt since they were white like the base, it was more like adding texture to the card base rather than embellishments. The card base had the small square opening so I didn't widen it to match the center square shape shown on the sketch. The poinsettia is for the circle shape....

a. the card base and matching envelope are from Studio G

b. poinsettia, snowflakes & bow stickers are from Dollar Tree

c. striped paper is from stash

d. green cardstock is also from stash (either Neenah or Pen + Gear)
