CHD challenge blog DT project for Jan 2021 Anything Goes Theme

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Even as a teenager looking to the future, I thought 2000 and 2020 would be very sci-fi, Star Trek, kind of un-real. The events of 2020 were not ever in my visions of the future! Thankfully, my overwhelming craft supply stash is keeping me entertained! :) Oh, yes! Being creative helps me manage my stress. I feel happy when I get a chance to experiment with colors, pattern prints, textures, and layouts! 

Createful Heart Design challenge blog is going to continue 2021 with monthly Anything Goes as the challenge. I decided in late December 2020 to select Mary's coloring page "Best Friends Forever" to make some belated wedding cards that I didn't get made this autumn.

Personal creative challenge #1 for 2021 is to use old cards' layouts from 2010 or 2011 for inspiration this year. This sympathy card layout is tweaked for today's wedding congratulations card:

The 2nd personal creative challenge for 2021 is to include either hearts or the word(s) heart or love onto my cards as a little subtle visual reminder to family and friends that they are loved.

b. 100 Pattern Paper FB group= I haven't pulled a specific stack of patterned papers to use in 2021 but the chocolate brown with raspberry print paper is 10 years old--in the stash way too long. There's a challenge to try to use a mix set of prints--well, I didn't do it all with papers but I do have dots on half of the lettering, stripes on the washi tape, and then a tile-print paper.

MTTC Blog Challenge no 437 Summer Wedding Theme

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Short and simple...I've had extra appointments and stuff this week so little time to work on a draft for this fortnight challenge for My Time To Craft challenge blog. Our theme is Summer Wedding, however I'm overdue for an anniversary card so I did just a general love and heart with the sentiment of "better together".

My wedding/anniversary elements include the swans, heart, having 2 butterflies, having 2 sets of 2 hearts, and the sentiment "better together".

Some notes about making the card and vendors:
a. the swan cardstock and cut-apart "better together" square = Webster Pages
b. mint green cardstock for the card base & pink cardstock used as mat = Neenah
c. the teal and green washi tapes = Pen + Gear
d. puffy stickers = Close To My Heart
e. the other embellishments (white glitter decorative tape, butterfly stick-ons, and flower stickers) have been in my stash for several years
f. the dotted 'sand' patterned paper is from a paper pad I've been trying to bash since mid-May; it was bought at Dollar Tree and is 1 of 3 designs in the 5" x 7" size collection

Wedding Anniversary Card for brother is APTS blog DT project August 2019

August's theme for APTS blog is "A Crafty Piece of Me", which means using the technique of paper piecing. Not piercing, but piecing...put some pieces together that you have cut out. Example will be tracing and cutting out a floral print paper shape like a t-shirt to put over a t-shirt part of a digital image.

For my creation, I've stenciled half hearts of 2 different sizes from several different patterned papers and then I inked all edges, matched up 'opposites' and then put a tiny tape piece on the back of each new pair. Glue adhesive tabs were then used to stick to the white or mid-blue cardstock of the card background or base. Additional heart stickers and 3 different color pearl dots in either 3s or 5s were scattered around. The center sentiment image was found online in search for free black and white 25th anniversary images. Here is how I managed to get everything arranged:

August theme was mentioned at the top. Give it try if you haven't yet. It is always a very good artistic creativity challenge to experiment with new techniques and/or new ways of achieving effects.

It would have been faster to trace and cut-out 6 hearts instead of 12 halves from 4 papers, yet the effect of mix-n-match coordinating prints is striking.

It is also symbolic of 2 people united in marriage to become 1 couple.

*It is almost 10:30 pm on Monday night and I just returned home about 20 minutes ago from an area hospital where my husband had a procedure today and my mom's been in a different area since Saturday afternoon after her fall. Because of the business envelope narrow vertical length of the card, I only did 2 additional scans for the top part and then a full sheet scan that was cropped: [dimensions are: 9" tall x 4" wide]

Love in creative form! This is for my 'baby' brother and his terrific wife who honored me with being one of her bridesmaids. 1.5 years later I returned and doubled the honors with having both in our wedding party.

Summer card creations mostly birthday and anniversary

Teaching duties start next week so time for crafting and relaxing are diminishing

I have made some Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and Valentine's cards however not enough for all the relatives I like to mail to and for which I haven't photographed yet. What I will spotlight here are summer birthday, anniversary, congrats, and a wedding/love banner:

 Best wishes stamped on the tag: 22nd anniversary for a sweet couple that I was in their wedding as a bridesmaid!
