HIMCR #354 any holiday theme challenge for fourth Saturday of the month

Autumn Season or Thanksgiving is the holiday theme selection for me with this rustic delight:

Notes:
a. acorn and leaves digital images with the front cover sentiment message= MHK Designs
b. images and sentiments were filled with color using colored pencils
c. 3 of the 4 patterned papers come from an old collection and the 4th pp comes from a different one
d. green glitter paper was part of a 3 color pack bought at Dollar Tree
e. base dimensions are 5" x 7"
f. base card made with kraft cardstock from Colorbok
g. inside embellishment stick-on is from old craft supply stockpile
h. "Thank you" stamper was purchased at Dollar Tree

Background of sentiment was lightly colored with yellow-green, yellow, orange, and brown.

HIMCR's ID badge is shown above. This card is for the design team inspiration using images we were able to select from MHK Designs. Thanks! It is wonderful to be able to pick out something that I really want to use and show off. MHK Designs is challenge #354's prize sponsor and design team images to use provider! Thanks again! Love this Fall Season set!

My layout formatting is a close interpretation of the above image. This card sketch is from an unknown source. I discovered it through the Facebook group 100 Pattern Papers Challenge. One of the members offered to find card and scrapbook layouts to share each week to help get us group crafters motivated to use our 2018 commitment of 100 patterned papers from our individual stashes! In fact, I've lost track how many papers I've used in past 5 months. I was faithfully logging for January and February and then stopped focusing on the numbers and got busy using!

It is going to be extremely difficult to give this away. It is so pretty and detailed-full that I just want to hold on to it. (That's why Tina started the scrapbook paper challenge group so hoarders would become productive paper-crafters! :)

HIMCR #338 colors theme with pinks and reds

With This Ring.

Anniversary.

HIMCR #338 first Saturday of the month challenge is always about color and this month it's to be pinks and reds. And boy did I load this card up with a diverse range of red-oranges, pinks, burgundy, magenta, and even yellow-orange, orange, and purple to add interest.

MHK Designs is this week's sponsor and I selected their "With This Ring" digital images set and sentiment messages to use in order to create this anniversary card.

Some notes about how or why I crafted this anniversary card:
a. ribbon roses mimic the designer patterned paper with dots
b. I wanted to use lots of angles and layers as well as use as many hue variations of reds and pinks that I could without going to cray-cray!!!
c. designer papers are old stash that I haven't had access to for 6 months
d. solid color cardstock papers are Colorbok
e. heart-shaped puzzle image I found online about 1 year ago and just printed it to 4" x 6" size
f. card dimensions: 5" x 7"
g. a little red inking around edges of mauve pink cardstock base

Inside panel= (my own word processing)

There are several anniversaries in my immediate family within the next 5 weeks, so this will be sent to one of the couples.

My husband and I just celebrated our #22 about 1 week ago. We decided to get married on my maternal grandparents' 59th wedding anniversary date and got to have about 1 1/2 more years with grandpa and almost 12 years with grandma! Sweet loving memories. From the USA heartland, Becca

HIMCR #332 any holiday 4th Saturday challenge

It's December 23 and time to share what I created this past week for the 4th Saturday challenge for HIMCR's design team.

The challenge # is 332 and is sponsored by MHK Designs. The winner will get 3 products from their online store.

Check the HIMCR blog post for details on participating.

Since 4th week of each month is to be "any holiday" I decided to pick a set of digital images from MHK Designs for Easter, "He Is Risen".

The empty cross signifies Victory.

front panel: base is white cardstock; papers are from The Paper Studio by Hobby Lobby except solid light pink and brown card scraps are Colorbok; the quote and image Lilies are from the He Is Risen set of digital images from MHK Designs

inside panel: mottled mint green cardstock scrap from Colorbok; the sentiment image is from the He Is Risen set of digital images from MHK Designs that I colored pink

I realize Christmas is just 2 days away but MHK Designs has quite a selection of different holiday selections available that I wanted the chance to focus on an upcoming 2018 celebration. Whether from birth to death or resurrection, believing in God's gift of Jesus to mankind makes sense in what we call life. He gives us a purpose: to share.

Have a blessed Christmas 2017 and may we anticipate the hope that Easter means in 2018!
Becca

P.S. When looking at the HIMCR post for the #332 details, take time to visit the other DT members' blog postings of their inspirations and leave them some crafters' kudos.
