HIMCR #351 freestyle theme challenge featuring two graduation cards

College Graduation Card for my niece is my theme for card #1:

her college colors are blue and yellow/gold

Card's layout for front panel is based on this sketch from Page Maps' Card Maps (as shared in the Facebook group 100 Pattern Papers Challenge): www.pagemaps.com/cardmaps

The border under the birds is shown with the dot stickers along the bottom edge of light yellow cardstock. The birds got changed to butterflies (that are favorites of this niece) and moved up by the bow. I made the sentiment strip deeper in order to accommodate the stickers. This sketch is part of the May 2018 vertical card map selection. They've got 2 teams of DT inspirational cards using the sketches so take time whether you do scrapbooking, card-making, journaling, or all three.

High School graduate's (daughter of cousin) card #2:

her high school's colors are dark wine red and gold

Notes:

a. Both have combinations of stickers from different sources: Wal-Mart, Pen + Gear, and Create 365. 

b. Base cardstocks for both cards comes from Colorbok with the wise owl's base being a marbled print thin cardstock. (and also the light yellow CS used in Card #1 is Colorbok)
c. Gold glitter paper was purchased at Dollar Tree as part of a 3 color pack of glitter papers.
d. Wise owl upcycled note card front panel was another Dollar Tree purchase. I'm just using like a patterned paper.
e. Black ribbon on card #1 was re-used from a cosmetic bag bought at Dollar Tree.
f. The 3-D butterfly stick-ons were also a Dollar Tree recent purchase.
g. The layout for card #2 was also from Page Maps' Card Maps May 2018 sketches but one of the horizontal layout designs:

Card #2's recipient is eventually headed to medical school, so we certainly hope and pray that this planned goal of hers gets achieved. If she does, she will be the 2nd one in her generation of my grandparents' great-grandchildren to do this. Whoa!

We've got one more graduate who is a special guy in our lives, a great nephew of my husband's, that I will be making a card for very soon. Stay tuned to see what I create for him.

HIMCR 345 any holiday theme challenge

Any holiday? With Easter a little over one week away as I prepare this post, I thought I'd make another with an Easter theme to get mailed on Monday.

Happy Easter Sunday...celebrate!

My husband and I went to a resale shop on Thursday morning and I stumbled upon a craft section (yippee)! I saved oodles of $ on rubber stamps! And I was so excited to use 4 for this card with 3 making the front feature panel for the Easter card:

These are the stamps I used: (1) from JRL Design p150 Border Fill-In; (2) Celebrate which I didn't find any identifier on it; (3) from Rubber Stampede A2130D Sweet Bunny; and (4) from Brenda Walton for All Night Media 99OH16 Flower Basket.

Inside panel has sections of 2 repeating designer papers that were used on the front with 2 rows of decorative micro-thin tapes and embellished with some bunnies

Recipe:

1. Image: Friday Freebie from Bugaboo

2. Light blue oval frame cardstock and teal blue cardstock behind the polar bear image are Colorbok.

3. Tonal blue designer paper is from The Paper Studio by Hobby Lobby.

4. White cardstock is recycled packaging scraps cut to look like snow drifts.

5. Snowflakes foam stickers, gray satin ribbon, iridescent gems, tree pop-art style sticker, silver 5" x 7" photo frame, and let it snow graphic (gift tag) were purchased at either Dollar General or Dollar Tree.

6. Plastic (snow globe or glass window look) is recycled packaging.

7. Various general arts and crafts supplies to complete details: black gel ink pen, markers, colored pencils, pencil, ruler, scissors, & adhesives.
