CKC blog Feb 2019 gathered kit reveal titled Bodacious Botanicals

Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog has a gorgeous natural history museum looking collection picked by Master Forger Julene for February 2019's inspiration for crafters to copy cat through culling their stockpiles.

Bodacious Botanicals kit gathered from my stockpiles:

Above: 4 note cards that will be used like pocket cards; 2 large pocket cards; 5 small pocket cards; a few die-cuts; floral theme sticker sheet bought several months ago but not used yet just like the posies and butterflies next seen (credits to: Maggie Holmes and Vicki Boutin and American Crafts)

Below: The closest cardstocks I have to reflect the Anthology collection are the 7 sheets to the right of the white butterfly stick-ons and my forgery pocket cards/sheet=

Below: on the left are 4 papers with butterflies and then the 4th cardstock to the right also has butterflies; sadly none have that muted aged historical appearance like the inspiration collection :(

Design note about reflecting or not reflecting the inspiration collection: Color-wise I tried to pick creams, brown/russets, black, greens, blues, and yellows. Shapes-wise I tried focusing picks of butterflies, moths, birds including owls, plants including flowering ones. (botanical elements)

Bodacious--because I have many bold vibrant papers and scraps
Botanicals--because of the inspiration collections' main focus

Below: left side solid color copy paper and cardstock and several patterned papers from The Paper Studio and then a bunch of scraps (and there are more scraps that are smaller):

Below: This sheet is a coordinate to other papers I selected for January that I hadn't picked because I was sure if or how to use it. I've decided to cut it apart to use like pocket cards or journaling cards and will try to use the 2 on the bottom row left side: (My Mind's Eye= "Find Your Wings and Fly")

Compare these to the selected Kaisercraft collection: Anthology (2nd image below)

my old craft supply stockpiles don't have that vintage aged botanical scientific book look but I do have some of the main shapes (birds, butterflies, moths) and 1 pocket card featuring an old typewriter

I think I might try to age some of my picked papers by using ink or paint or colored pencil (maybe even coffee dye process)!!! Go to Kaisercraft or CKC blog link and see more fabulous photos of this marvelous collection...it is worth the time, believe me! If you love nature, hiking, visiting parks or museums or public gardens, you want to spend some time getting inspired.

Keep checking back as I sort these picked papers into smaller groupings (mini kits) to help me focus my crafting processes and time with a little organizing to be featured in the next post! Forgeries will be another post feature. And don't worry, I still have my scrapping of our 23rd anniversary dating challenge to finish, too. Also Valentine's Day is soon. Nephew's birthday and N-I-L's birthday before the month is over are more crafting needs. Busy!!! Add medical appointments for my husband, outreach activities for church, and daily living needs....

Stay safe and warm! Becca S

  1. Your life sounds a bit like mine Becca, but minus the care for DH, as he is in glory after a prolonged period of poor health.. I am heavily involved in church and have numerous birthdays to prepare for... as well it is summer here and the gardens need my attention...
    Blessings

    1. Thanks Cindy! It's actually been more flexible for occasions and mood than I thought it would be, including Christmas and TN/Bible journal entry!

  3. It's a great kit and really shows the inspiration from the original Kaisercraft kit. I love all the butterflies and botanical elements and like how you took the colours into your own comfort zone. I'm particularly taken with the cut apart sheet: Really nice
