A rainy New Year's Eve yet that didn't stop us for having our 2nd anniversary date of 23 that we want to have within 23 miles of our home before our 23rd anniversary on 1.27.19 (IL River bridge on Route 17 is pictured plus a local diner visit for an early supper)

Close-up of the bottom left corner. I wrote "Leaving" on the driveway photo next to the planner sticker that says "our home"! I thought that was a clever way to caption this pic. The marina parking lot has a sign designating that area as "Jerry Strong's Landing":

Design notes and also a 2nd challenge reference is to the FB group "100 Pattern Papers Challenge":

a. something old= the thin gray with white micro dots paper scrap in the largest section is old paper plus the light gray paper that the 2 photos are mounted on in the bottom left corner is old paper plus the newsprint teal green chevron paper triangle in the top section is old.

b. something new= all the other patterned papers are new; decorative tapes are new; planner stickers

c. something blue= one of the coffee cup stickers is blue; and the floral decorative tape has teeny tiny dots of blue

d. something else= yellow copy paper was used to add very thin margins around the 2 photos in the bottom right section which helped to unify to the yellows in the other patterned papers

I am loving how I've been able to mix and match these papers. It helps that 7 papers are 2-sided which ups the numbers of prints plus the possible combinations!!! My older papers seen in the top row of the above photo are also coming in handy so far for the first two layouts (and dates) using this kit dubbed "Love Is Reaching New Heights". Love Is Reaching New Heights kit's layout #1 in mixed format pocket page

CKC's kit for inspiration to copy-cat this month is shown further down in the post and it is muted compared to the pinks I've used for this layout. I've got lots of the muted greens and grays that reflect the FJ kit "Hannah". The premise of CKC aka Counterfeit Kit Challenge is to use supplies from your own inventory to mimic a vendor's kit.

I also want to use this layout for the FB group, 100 Pattern Paper Challenge, January 2019 challenge of using something old, new, blue, and 'else'/surprise personal pick. Even though several papers used were from My Mind's Eye 2013 collection that I just received, so they were new to me (hot air balloon print, diagonal line print). The old are the gray on gray damask print and the black with white dot print. Blue is not a paper but 2 of the enamel gem dots clustered around my snapshot. Something else would be the heart focal embellishment that I put together (pink glitter heart base with white, pink, and red sticker hearts arranged on top).

The one design motif of the FJ kit that I've changed dramatically is the bicycle. I had just received some hot air balloon papers from My Mind's Eye 2013 in a mystery bargain box purchased through Peachy Cheap website and thought I'd substitute for the Hannah's bicycle. The hot air balloons prompted my designated title for this month--Love Is Reaching New Heights. Because on January 27th my husband and I will be reaching year #23. And in order to mark this achievement that he thought we'd never reach (I met him as a widower who had been married to wife #1 for 23 years & 10 months), we are trying to have 23 dates within 23 miles of our home before our 23rd anniversary.

Hubs doesn't like having his picture taken NOR taking pictures; hence his fierce expression that really makes his 1/4 Cherokee heritage noticeable and explains my blurry photo! :)

The above photo which I was trying to get a close-up of mentions the 23 dates within 23 mile radius. Date #1's destination of Burger King is about 6 miles from our home so that's perfect. With a coupon, we only spent $5.31 for supper!!!

The compiled image is Felicity Jane's (FJ) "Hannah" kit that they revealed in October 2018. It is definitely an unusual choice for someone living in Midwest America in January. Rain today. Temperature's dropping 20+ degrees within 24 hours or less! Mostly cloudy as well. Ugh. But I've got this light dainty refreshing mix of papers and embellishments to get motivated by for documenting the dates we've had (5 so far; 18 more to achieve by January 27th)!!! I need to get back to scrapbooking more layouts and/or have another date in order to reach my personal goals this month!!! Love is reaching new heights

Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog's January 2019 selected kit to motivate us to give our stashes and stockpiles an inspirational overhaul (or maybe just a little purging) is "Hannah" from Felicity Jane. Photos will be posted further down in the post. 

The elements that I chose from FJ's "Hannah" are the following:

a. muted rose hues

b. muted sage green hues

c. grays

d. ivory and yellows

e. black

f. some wood grains

g. script/text

h. scallops/fish scale patterns

i. diagonal lines

j. instead of bicycle images or patterns, I'm replacing with hot air balloons...

Hence, the title I'm designating for my copy cat kit--Love is reaching new heights! Most of my pre-planning at this point centers around showcasing our love story. My husband and I will be celebrating our 23rd anniversary this month and we've already started trying to have 23 dates within a 23-mile radius of our home before our 23rd anniversary on January 27th. As of today, January 5th, we've had 4 dates! Nothing fancy. Either lunch or dinner out somewhere local. Part of the psychological and emotional reasons behind this are due to my husband being widowed previously between year 23 and 24. From the get-go, he just never thought we would be married the same number of years! About 4 years ago, his attitude started shifting when he realized we were getting closer to the 'mark'. I felt it was extremely important for us to place extra emphasis, attention, and time into celebrating #23. 

(about my kit's papers and embellishments) Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I ordered a mystery box from Peachy Cheap website that boasted of products worth $149 for the sale price of $29 (?)...sorry I've forgotten and I'm not going to take time to look it up! But it's been fabulous!!! Most of this January kit is pulled from this. The mystery box included a thick stack of 12" square scrapbook papers from "The Mind's Eye" and I think most are dated from 2013. Even though they are older designs, they are new to me. I could hoard these pretty papers or put them to use right away!?!?!!!!

Row 1: 4 of the patterned papers are from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby). The large scrap gray floral print paper is very old and I used in December for 2 sections of a pocket page layout. The black with white dots might be The Paper Studio...not sure. These papers I've had in my stockpile.

Row 2: From my very recent mystery box purchase: 7 double-sided papers showing Side As

On the left are some "My Mind's Eye" scraps from the mystery box purchase that I used in December; other 'new' products from makers like Studio Calico, Heidi Swapp, Vicki Boutin, Maggie Holmes, Carpe Diem, and some old/other decorative tapes, cording, and gem dots from my stockpile.

Row 1 is the same papers seen in the first photo.

Row 2's papers are the Side Bs, which give some great options and mimics to the FJ kit.

New to me alphas from Heidi Swapp that were part of the mystery box purchased from Peachy Cheap website. It will be fun to use these and maybe even mix the font styles for a layout or two!

So, now, how does my "Love is reaching new heights" kit compare to the selected featured kit picked by Master Forger Susan of CKC blog?

The 4th's post is a fun one that shows how a couple of the MFs select one or more items from the original kit to forge or copy cat (Forgery on the Fourth). I haven't thought that far ahead. Hmm?!?!!! I wonder what I could do?!?!!!
